I have your book but I thought these techniques could only be done with a laser printer. Thank you so much for sharing these techniques! I love the plain printer paper print to the glossy paper - it's so soft and impressionistic.
You are beautiful and brilliant Nitsa! Please don't apologise for promoting yourself/your books... you deserve it! I wish so much happiness for you in 2022 xx
I love your channel! So many great ideas… and charming company! I wonder if this would work with a gelli plate. Going to try it as soon as I get morning obligations over with.😊 Thanks for your constant inspiration
Thanks for your refreshing video. Short and to the point. My favourite technique shown was the copy paper and water technique mainly because I o not need to purchase anything. It did give a different effect to the first technique. Cheers
It is wonderful to see your beautiful smile again, thank you for another great video. I love all your techniques, including those not shown in this video, I haven't found one I like better than the others yet. Maybe the glue method only because the right type glue makes the image texture similar to smiley shirts my mom and I had in the early 70s. ❤️😁
transparencies that are not ment for inkjet (but laser) actually work even better for this, because the surface doesnt cause the ink to start curing. just be carefull not to touch the print, because it will smear. this also makes the transparencies re-usable after a quick wipe. the difference isnt as dramatic for dye based, water soluable inks, most common in cheap consumer printers. but pigmented inks, like in any printer using the HP 950 printhead and carts, will cure almost instantly on a suitably porous surface, and become waterproof. PS: used officejet pros are an awesome deal, for a really high quality machines, and the carts are really easy to refill. super fast and cheap, borderless printing, perfect for creatively messing around.
You shouldn’t apologise for talking about your book 📚 stuff those that don’t like when people plug their achievements, I didn’t know you had a book and now I do!
@@NitsaCreativeStudio ...I just ordered a lot of transparency sheets! I've worked out a method based on your films... and then yesterday I found a cheap laser printer, anyway... Not that I really needed to!
Nice! Which printer did you get? Also if you don't mind letting me know where you got it from? I'm going to include, in my next book, ways to get an inexpensive laser printer
@@NitsaCreativeStudio I got a Samsung (HP) black and white laser printer second hand: it only cost me fourty euros and I got a new toner with it as well. I also developed a couple of new methods for medium transfer that I use for preparing linocut plates - and with an inkjet printer - and I use standard PVA wood glue combined with label paper to do it which you can basically buy anywhere. I developed these last week and they were certainly influenced by you. I wish you the best of luck with your new book and I will certainly consider buying it.

been looking for the easiest way to transfer photos to canvas panals. i have had these sheets lying around, would these work or do you reccomend sticking to wood and paper?
Hi.. do you know about film transfer paper inkjet on cold for clothes and any surface?? Just I saw at Instagram yesterday and I'm looking info(Aug/2024)thanks
Please do image transfer on to cellophane would like a clear image on that and on to glass and acrylic please 🙏 if u can make a video for that with inkjet printer thank u
1. It doesn't look the same at all, you have to see and feel in person to understand. 2. You can transfer to papers with different textures and sizes that might not run through your printer (for example, I can't run nice watercolor paper through my low end printer without a paper jam) 3. you can print onto your journal pages, specialty cards, gift tags etc 👍
Very nice artful techniques and effects. I am going to try it on fabric. You've probably done that too! I want to make a remembrance keepsake piece of a friend's horse, now galloping in heaven. The rustic look of the transfer would be well suited for this. I bought a heart-shaped wood block at a thrift store. If it turns out I will post a pic before I gift it!
Printing a mirror or reversed image meaning the image is printed backward so when you transfer the image it doesn't look the wrong way especially if you have text. Some printers have this feature.
There are a couple of reasons; 1. If you just print your photo you won't get this special effect & unpredictable look that you can get with a transfer. 2. This is also a good solution if you want to print on an iregular size or shape paper or any other glossy surface that doesn't fit inside your printer.
No, it's not waterproofed, but if you want it to last, it's a good idea to coat it with a clear finish that is moisture resistant and gives it UV protection.
Are you trying to transfer traditional photos? As far as I know the only ones you could do emulsion transfer with were the peel apart film (like polaroid).

For transferring to canvas panels try this method: ruclips.net/video/1JBC3_ipeoc/видео.html
For the transfer on paper, does it work on non glossy paper with a gesso layer?
I haven't tried this, but it sounds like an interesting experiment 👍

You're just too cute 😍 💕!
😊 thank you Susan
I am a sign carver and I need something like this.
🧡💛🌼
Wonderful😢
You can do the same, with better results, with baking paper. Just cut it in A4 size and put it in the printer!
Can you transfer same way onto fabric
It might work on fabric, but this is not an archival process so better use another process 👍
New here!
Nice technique Nits👍 maybe a glossy paper its easy.
Wax paper is also okay to use in transferring photos to glossy paper?
Yes, absolutely! Thank you Cristy! 🥰
@@NitsaCreativeStudio
Thanks so much for replying us ❤
Great 👍
🥰
wow i can’t believe it transferred only with water!!!
I know!! It was so much fun to discover 🥰
Can it use paints or inks to enhance my transfer?
Yes definitely. It might be a good idea to protect the transfer with spray fixative before painting it.
Hmm, if transferring from transparency to paper, why not just print onto the paper directly?
1. It doesn't look the same at all, you have to see and feel in person to understand.
2. You can transfer to papers with different textures and sizes that might not run through your printer (for example, I can't run nice watercolor paper through my low end printer without a paper jam)
3. you can print onto your journal pages, specialty cards, gift tags etc 👍
I want to transfer with paper and water to a canvas board and Paint a portrait in acrylics OVER the print
Sounds like a good idea! 👍
What about doing this way on canvas??
This process works best on smooth surface. So it will probably work on primed canvas but I'm not sure it will look as good
@anita clancy did you tri transfer to canvas?
What’s great idea
Thank you Lorrayne 🥰
Good morning, can. Make a copy with a sublimation printer I have an Epson 2803
I haven't used sublimation printer so I'm not sure. The inkjet printer needs to be dye based, so not water-resistant 👍
What does it mean to print on the reverse ?
Printing a mirror or reversed image meaning the image is printed backward so when you transfer the image it doesn't look the wrong way especially if you have text. Some printers have this feature.
why not just put the glossy paper n the printer?
There are a couple of reasons;
1. If you just print your photo you won't get this special effect & unpredictable look that you can get with a transfer.
2. This is also a good solution if you want to print on an iregular size or shape paper or any other glossy surface that doesn't fit inside your printer.
both tranferrs were somewhat disappointing and with the paper why not just print on the paper??
Is the finished product waterproofed?
No, it's not waterproofed, but if you want it to last, it's a good idea to coat it with a clear finish that is moisture resistant and gives it UV protection.
Can you use this on glass or a mirror
I hadn't have much success because the glass doesn't absorb the ink. Check out my other videos on transferring to glass 👍
You are still sort of adorable!
Haha thank you ☺️
What would be super sweet is if someone knew whether or not you can transfer actual photos to wood WITHOUT A PRINTER and if so, please tell me how?!?!
