Very nice video! When it first started and you showed how the wood split, I got to wondering if it was possible to steam or boil the wood and clamp or strap it back into place. Using wood glue to hold it. I've seen videos where they would do this to bend wood or remove hammer dents. Anyway, I have no idea if it would work but that's what went through my head at the time. I was thinking about using small disks and doing transfers of Christmas scenes for selling. If I find it not too hard, I thought I might use larger ones and do portrait transfers for family members, and using leather strips for ties.
What is usually used? Regular printer paper. You print on it, glue it, dry it, and then soak it to death and rub rub rub rub rub rub,let it dry to a haze, then rub again, rub rub rub rub, and hopefully after all that wet mess you didn't start rubbing off parts of your image as well. That's the most common way to do it. The RixCanDoIt Quick Transfer Paper, as you see in the video, does not require that. You print on it with a laser printer, you glue it to the surface, let it dry in a few minutes (heat gun or hair dryer), moisten it for 30 seconds, then PEEL IT OFF LIKE BUTTER! It's the better way.

hot attic stored my wood cookies a few years and they did not split...nice blooming tree you have...crabby apple or cherry? I would tape the bottom and lacquer the bark sides or they will fall off
After the water putty dries completely run it through the planer again that way you have a very flat surface. PLUS use a paint WITH primer! Rustoleum 2X is far superior to their enamel. I would spray the wood with a gloss clear coat around the edges let dry, mask off for the white. Lay the photo and cut through the masking tape peeling up the interior then spraying. Makes for a professional finish
Great tip! I'll be doing more of these projects for this channel really soon. I'll be sure to mention your edging tip. I don't follow the "lay the photo and cut through the masking tape" part though. Can you elaborate? Perhaps email me at rixcandoit (gmail). Thanks.

Neighbors...😊
Rick I am from Canada can you tell me how to get the transfer paper. Thanks for your help, you have inspired me.
There is a button for Canada purchases at the website.
Good looking family…. I would suggest using Sanding Sealer as opposed to primer…. It’ll fill the voids much better.
Thank you!
Thanks.
Discovered your channel by accident, looking for ideas for our Etsy shops. I was watching your process, but my wife actually looked at your picture and pointed out your nametags.
Where did you serve your mission?
Mission? As in a Mormon missionary or something like that?
That's a great video Rick. I've never tried transferring, so your video really is a great step by step tutorial. Thank you, I really enjoyed that Cheers and Happy Easter

Beautiful!!
You could always do colored epoxy to fill the cracks. You could make a small serving tray or even an end table top with the colored epoxy. They make exquisite pieces from scraps.
I agree.
Agree with epoxy. It would be gorgeous.
😅😅
Read up on toxicity from breathing in the fumes first, @imagetransferswithrix!
Hi! New subscriber. I love this. Thank you for showing this technique. Would this work on glass? Please advise
Hey, thanks for subscribing! Yes, it works on anything you can glue paper to.
Very relaxing to watch. You Sir are very likable. Best wishes from Wales U.K.
Thank you so much! That's a very nice compliment. :-)
Hi I ecame intereted in your video and want to know the name of the products you used. I could not see it's name. If you could let me know I would be bvery pleased.
I usually use Matte Gel Medium as my glue when doing wood, and my RixCanDoIt Quick Transfer Paper that I produce in-house.
You look a lot like my late daddy! I'm an instant fan!
That's awesome. :-)
Can this be done in glass. Love the idea!!
It can be done ON glass, yes.
Sweet, peeling looks way easier than the rubbing method, cheers

It does look awesome! Thank you for showing us this technique. I'm in Arkansas, too, so I understand about the weather. 😁
Thanks! Yep. If you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes. Hear that all the time. LOL!
