    In this video I mainly discussed 3 parameters in the settings; $wearprogress, $unwearstrength and $wearwidthmax. Nevertheless, keep in mind that there are several other parameters that can be modified. Play around with the values and see what suits your needs.

    • @AKS1TE
      @AKS1TE 2 года назад

      Which parameters Valve use in stickers usually? I saw the $unwearstrength parameter in Valve VMT and made all my stickers with this parameter only... is it ok? :D maybe I need to change my stickers with other parameters?

    • @viperskins
      @viperskins  2 года назад

      @@AKS1TE You don't HAVE to change your submitted stickers.... If they look good with the current settings then leave them as they are.
      As I said, try playing with the values, especially if you're looking for something specific. For example, if you want the sticker to wear out in a specific way then you should play with the parameters that start with $wear (As well as the $unwearstrength). There are also the $phong values that are supposed to control how the sticker reacts to light, but i personally didn't find a lot of difference between different values so I rarely use them.
      But to answer your question, Valve doesn't expect any additional parameters in your VMT besides the ones that already exist as default

    hi, can u help me please? i have make a usual paper sticker. and wheh it weared to -1 it looks like almost I need but i want to make such thing: at wear -1, the little picture remains and i need to make this pucture white, eithout sticker color, i almost did it but some pianted parts left (sorry for my bad english. im just learning it, you can ask some questions if u dont understand)

    • @viperskins
      @viperskins  2 года назад

      If i understand you correctly when the wear is set to 1 (Not -1) you want the shape of the image to stay but without the image itself (No colors, just the paper in the shape of the image, correct?). If that's the case, then you'll need to:
      1. Make sure you're using the $decalstyle 1 for paper-backed stickers
      2. Set the $wearprogress to 1 and try playing with the $wearwidthmax and $wearremapmax until you get the result you want
      Of course I trust that you have added an alpha channel to your image, otherwise it won't work.
      Let me know if i understood you correctly or need more help

      @@tr00t Make sure the paths of your vtf files are correct. That's the most common reason for not seeing your sticker.
      You may have created your vmt file and then renamed your files or moved their location. Double check that and let me know if that's the reason. If not, we'll figure it out :)

    Really helpful tutorial.
    One question at 3:43 when the sticker is completely scratched you can still see the full body outline of chicken is this how it's gonna appear in-game or it's just in sdk tool?

    • @viperskins
      @viperskins  2 года назад

      Thank you :)
      This is how it will look in-game. You should be able to control it by ensuring that all pixels are included in the alpha channel, as well as playing with the unwearstrength, wearwidthmax and wearremapmax values

    Hi, at 2:57 you said that -1 is a factor new, and 1 is the maximum, but could you please tell me what to do if the sticker is very bright and you can not see the text if " Factory new "

    • @viperskins
      @viperskins  2 года назад +1

      In such cases I usually make the base texture a bit darker. Instead of pure white i use light grey in the image itself.
      Another option that might work is to try and play with the $phonealbedoboost and the $phongalbedoint values. Also don't forget to test your sticker under different lightings by pressing the Ctrl, left mouse button and moving the mouse around

    Hi it's me again ^^
    sometimes my vmt looks different on weapon and sticker preview. On sticker preview it looks good but on weapon it looks like a factory new sticker without my parameters. Is it ok? :D

    • @viperskins
      @viperskins  2 года назад

      What's the difference exactly? In the way the sticker wears out? If that's the case then i suggest that you lower the $wearwidthmax value and raise the $unwearstrength, just to make sure that no matter where the sticker is it wears out the same way you want (I noticed that depending on the location of the sticker on a weapon it can wear out differently, possibly connected to how different parts of a weapon wear out at different paces).

    • @AKS1TE
      @AKS1TE 2 года назад +1

      @@viperskins I didn't know that stickers can look differently at different parts of weapon. I was thinking it's a bug or my fault. Maybe I need improve my alpha channel but thanks for information! Now I know more

    • @viperskins
      @viperskins  2 года назад

      @@AKS1TE This is what I realized while experimenting with the SDK Tool.
      Again if you've prepared your alpha channel correctly then try lower the wearwidthmax and raising the unwearstrength and this should do the trick.
      Best of luck :)
