This song is dedicated to his Aunt who passed away in 2007. She was the person who bought him his first guitar. The song was written in 2006 so she did get to hear it before she passed.
I would say that his best performance on RUclips is when he played Whitewash with his old band Deli Creeps at Haight St. Fair... The guy literally summons the birds with his guitar
@@justdave9610 yeah, it's the solos I'm talking about though. He has sort of a framework of a solo that he works within. Like how the beginning of the soothsayer solo always has that strangely timed bit, but if you listen to ten performances they're all a bit different while carrying the same vibe. It's interesting, because his set lists are usually fairly stable and formulaic, while the actual note by note of the same songs has a huge variation because of the solos. I went to one of his concerts about 2 months ago. I'd listened to at least half of his 300-something albums, and had high expectations, but he surpassed them by miles. Everything he played was totally awesome. His performance was flawless. And yes, some of his fans at the show did wear buckets. Anyway, at around 9:20 you asked "how does he memorize that?", the answer is: he doesn't. He remembers the notes in the scale that the song is written in so that he doesn't play any wrong notes accidentally, and then he makes it up as he goes using little bits of what the studio version sounds like but with tons of variation. He has never played Soothsayer exactly the same way twice, every performance of the song is unique. I can play this song on guitar kinda well, and I've seen a lot of RUclips covers of it, but nobody can make it sound the way Buckethead does. Edit: You should react to him playing Jordan live at the Culture Room, it's probably his best performance of that song.
These songs include no shredding except improvised when Played live. all in the waiting, whitewash, Padmasana, big sir moon, the greenskeeper, the flooding of pain, for mom, sail on soothsayer, broken mirror, wondering, beyond the knowing, I love my parents, electric tears, big d’s touch, there’s plenty way more. The reason he’s one of the if not the best guitarist is he can play music all kinds of music genre.

But if yes, it just can't be said enough times! Well, and finally I hear for the first time a full song of Buckethead through your channel... he's incredibly, insane, somehow like a cyborg from an outer space guitar planet... Thanks for checking out Buckethead, He has over 300 albums of mostly if not all instrumentals; I havent heard any vocals yet. There are plenty of full concerts on utube, no two are alike. Enjoy :)
The two most generally accepted as best guitarists alive are Steve Vai and John Petrucci. Vai is a solo artist, but Petrucci is part of Dream Theater, with some solo work. You absolutely need to listen to both, but Dream Theater should be a priority. A good song to start on could be Panic Attack, but pretty much any song is good. As for Vai, Tender Surrender is an amazing starting point. Hope you see this! Have a good day/evening/whatever.
Alessandro botta If we were to add all the guitarists worth checking out, we'd end up with a long comment that not many people will read... Joe Satriani Yngwie Malmsteen Tosin Abasi Synyster Gates Timothy Henson Mario Camarena Jason Richardson Ichika Nito Fredrik Thorndendal Stevie Ray Vaughan B.B. King Plini Brian May Michael Angelo Batio Tony Iommi Jimi Hendrix Alex Lifeson Eddie Van Halen David Gilmour Paul Gilbert Dimebag Darrel Marty Friedman John Frusciante I'm bound to have forgotten some, but I put as many as I could
I saw him in Dallas and my daughter got to push the on/off button on his guitar when he played Jordon. He played to a backing track and drum machines for over two hours flawlessly and touched on any genre you can thing of. He is almost too perfect but a sight to see.
Btw when you said hes possessed there is a separate entity called death cube k which is a photographic negative version of buckethead which haunts his dreams and produces music that is so scary it could scare even the bravest soul
Okay. So if you love this watch For the love of God and Whispering a Prayer by Steve Vai . You wouldn't need lyrics for these two. And I bet you, Whispering a Prayer will bring tears to your eyes.
Whispering a Prayer is one I always recommend too...it's not your "usual" song, but Steve is channeling a straight shot to his higher power throughout that one.
I saw Buckethead about 8 years ago in this TINY ASS club in my hometown of Breckenridge, Colorado, a ski resort of about 5,000 people. The club held roughly 200 people and I got to see him from 10 feet away the whole show. Yes, His fingers are freakishly long. Hands down, the best guitarist ever.
hey Giddy, are you going to react to André Matos that I sent on another past video of yours? Tomorrow it'll make 1 month since he passed away :(. I'm still waiting for that reaction, I gave you an insight on the other comment about him and the videos I'd like you to react, I didn't want to copy and paste here because Idk if you already did it and will still post it. I'll be done with my exams in a week so definitely as soon as I'm done! The reactions I'm posting Currently are from my patreon page cuz I don't have the time to make multiple reactions per week :/
In the rock/metal world, there are SO many great guitarists it's really down to personal preference as to who's "the best". For example, Buckethead's mentor, Paul Gilbert, is pretty good too. And Joe Satriani...and Steve Vai...and Gary Moore...and Stevie Ray Vaughn...and...well, you get the point :). For a change of pace, and a song with lyrics as well as some great guitar work, try Gary Moore "Still Got the Blues"...the one with 57 million views. The video quality isn't very good, but everything else is.
During his solo concerts he will play guitar with one hand and toss stuffed animals and toys out into the audience with the other. He has made something like close to 100 full length albums
Buckethead is and will be the More extraordinary guitarist of all.give him noble peace.price.he doesnt need speaking .his guitar speak for him.every day i listen him
Well.. from a guitarist who made 314 albums, I don't think he needs to remember every song, he just improvises and goes with the flow. Oh what? you think I made a typo on the number of albums? AHAHAHAHAHA nope.. 314... YES. 3 FUCKIN HUNDREDS. Good luck listening to him. :)
@@GiddyKitty He probably just enter the studio every few months and says "Hey, let's record an album" :'D I seriously dunno how he can even manage to write/record so many songs
Hanging out in his home studio, recording guitar and bass tracks, and programming the drums for the most part. A handful of other records were recorded with other musicians, and he's collaborated on many other projects. I first encountered him via the band Praxis in the 90s.
Buckethead actually has a blackout/phantom mask on under his white mask (two masks) and often times can't see what he is playing or doing unless the lights are up - sometimes that's why he looks disoriented on stage

You absolutely need to listen to both, but Dream Theater should be a priority. A good song to start on could be Panic Attack, but pretty much any song is good.
As for Vai, Tender Surrender is an amazing starting point.
Hope you see this! Have a good day/evening/whatever.
Interesting
I'll check it out thanks ☺️
Or the steve vai halo theme for the meme of it all
I think that we have to include also Y.j.Malmsteen

Yeah buckethead is really one of or the best guitarist today and he’s a super nice person
You don’t memorize it. You project it from your soul
This is better than any kpop
Nice reaction video! I’ve been very hooked on his song Eerie Canal lately. It’s an amazing journey. 🎸🐓🎸🐓🎸
Try listenning to Marty Friedman, that guy gives me chills every time
Yes yes yes!
Great reaction! Your pretty and fun to watch. Glad you liked this one. Check out the rest of his music its all amazing.
You make watching Buckethead 100% better. Love U
Thank you, he is the best guitar player in the world.
seriously
he's like 6'5 or so. the guitars are scaled up to look normal next to him. i love his quirks and work!
He's on a whole other level!! 😲
This song was a tribute to his aunt Suzie, thats why the song is so full of emotions. Such a beautiful performance.
hey Giddy, are you going to react to André Matos that I sent on another past video of yours? Tomorrow it'll make 1 month since he passed away :(. I'm still waiting for that reaction, I gave you an insight on the other comment about him and the videos I'd like you to react, I didn't want to copy and paste here because Idk if you already did it and will still post it. Thanks
I'll be done with my exams in a week so definitely as soon as I'm done!
The reactions I'm posting Currently are from my patreon page cuz I don't have the time to make multiple reactions per week :/
@@GiddyKitty ah that makes sense, we can wait, the good thing is to know you'll do it, it means a lot
I would recommend, for mom, by buckethead. It’s an amazingly wholesome song .
I'm simple man, when i sees buckethead react, i click. Btw u look so cute haha.
Hey girl please help me with a manual PIN verification ...”this form “that pops a questionnaire how did you resolve your issue ❤️❤️
First time to hear this. A new classic 😊
You can check the finnish mdm band named Insomnium , they are incredible , melodic and heavy at the same time )
Nothing better than a cute girl reacting to a famous guitarist
(I’ll go now)
The real brain twister is that Buckethead barely looks at the frets and he still knows what he’s doing💀
He has made something like close to 100 full length albums
did you heard the emotion from him ?
you just focus the finger and saying wow amazing.
He plays the guitar, it's true, but he's not the only one. even on RUclips you can find as well. try the BABYSASTER channel. YOU will love her
She is incredible. I would recommend her cover of Painkiller by Judas Priest.
So much this!!
Yes! This is gonna be good!
there are better live versions of this song, but glad to see a person as they discover buckethead, and yep hes the G.O.A.T.
Listen to Nottingham Lace ! HOLY!!!! Saw him in concert just pre pandemic. One of two musicians that ever moved me to tears. GASP!
**Excellent reaction video 👍**
Buckethead is and will be the More extraordinary guitarist of all.give him noble peace.price.he doesnt need speaking .his guitar speak for him.every day i listen him
Well.. from a guitarist who made 314 albums, I don't think he needs to remember every song, he just improvises and goes with the flow.
Oh what? you think I made a typo on the number of albums?
AHAHAHAHAHA nope.. 314... YES. 3 FUCKIN HUNDREDS.
Good luck listening to him. :)
😶😶😶😶😶😶😶 I read earlier it's around 200 and now more than 300?!😂 How.
@@GiddyKitty He probably just enter the studio every few months and says "Hey, let's record an album" :'D
I seriously dunno how he can even manage to write/record so many songs
At least he's got that one fast lick down...of course it's in Every Song
Hanging out in his home studio, recording guitar and bass tracks, and programming the drums for the most part. A handful of other records were recorded with other musicians, and he's collaborated on many other projects. I first encountered him via the band Praxis in the 90s.
Btw those buttons are killswitches the y kill the sound to the amplifier
He's not memorizing anything, he's just playing whatever he feels in the moment. Improvisation is a big part of live performances.
That's pretty impressive.
Buckethead actually has a blackout/phantom mask on under his white mask (two masks) and often times can't see what he is playing or doing unless the lights are up - sometimes that's why he looks disoriented on stage
Oh come on. Yeah, he's a genius and can play like that just improvizing but Soothsayer is well known prewritten track.
@@lkeaboy only in the first 3 minutes
I'm glad buckethead is getting more attention these days its well deserved.
Also, if you haven't already, check out michael angelo batio and his double guitar
His reach goes even further than you think. His Les Paul is special made, larger than most all other guitars that look like that.
Please girl you need to listen more of Buckethead i have 38 gb of Buckethead tried em all he is more than what you can even imagine
Buckethead es el Mozart moderno, tiene maravillosas melodías, un descomunal guitarrista.
she's so cuuuuuuuteeeee
Now react to Through Glass by Stone Sour or People = Shit by slipknot..maybe...
Dont worry about everyone else!! If theyre watching a reaction video, they should be expecting a reaction!! They can always go watch the regular video!
