This is the best video showing a full replacement from tire removal, brake replacement, and tire reinstallation. Included in the video is some "what if scenarios" where other videos do not show. Very detailed video of every aspect of the replacement. No gaps in video, I am going to show you everything using regular manual tools. Whole project may be completed in roughly 15 minutes.
Thank you to Autozone and their great Duralast products, which were installed on this project. Also used was a Duralast floor jack which works fantastic!

Thanks man. Saved me in the beginning. The way the caliper comes off had me confused for a sec.
Your title was spot on. The best most detailed video on how to change the brake pads on a 2017 Ford Expedition. Due to your video, I had all four pads changed within an hour. You saved me a ton of money and time. Thanks so much!
Nice quick change. Thanks for leaving the camera roll the entire time. No cuts.
For anyone replacing the rotors as well, once the caliper is out of the way you can also remove rotors. Might have to hit with hammer to break them free, but no need to remove the caliper bracket.
Thanks, exact info I was looking for.
Word to the wise, use a rubber mallet or place a piece of 2x4 between the hammer and the caliper when you hit it so that you don't damage the caliper.
Good video. May want to lube the bolts and torque those lug nuts to spec.
Thank you great video
Great video thanks
Very helpful. Thank you.
Great video!
Thanks for video bud!
Awesome video thanks

Very good tutorial video.
Great video! MAde easy
Thanks to your video I finally did own brakes. 2017 XLT Success!!!
Did you do a video for the front brake replacement?
Thank you very much for this video.
There is a negative comment in the comments. Don't listen to these people that think they are almighty. This brake change works great. I've been working on cars for over 40 years. It's a "tutorial" modify as needed if you have better ideas, make a better video and copy link into comments. Full video though, no cut and paste shit. See if you can do in 15 min or less on the spot.
made life simple
Wow definitely the best how to video ive seen in a while
Forgot to grease the pins. That’s why your pads aren’t wearing evenly
I just got a 2015 limited expedition and when i reverse it out the garage some times it rolls back n my break peddle sinks for like 3secons. I have to step on it a few times quick so it can stop. Could it be the (abs) getn thrown off by my little bump on my garage? It would do it the 1st time i get it out the garage but later on the day it will never do it again. Anyone having this issue?
No brake lube?
no
Poor hose........ouch!
There are actually torque specs for the retainer pins and they should always be removed, cleaned and re-lubricated before reinstalling when performing this procedure. The piston cup edge and where the outer pad touches the caliper housing should also be cleaned and lubricated w/ the proper lubricant which should have came w/ the pads. The calapier mounting bracket where the ears/tabs on the brake pads ride should also be cleaned and lubricated before assym. Finally the wheel lug nuts should be torqued to 150 foot pounds when reinstalling the tires………. There is a torque spec for every bolt on every vehicle, you can find them on the internet.
Also I forget, never hang a caliper by the brake hose unless you want to have a hose failure somewhere down the road, always suspend it w/ a stout bungee cord or piece of mechanics wire to a dutiable place on the frame or wheel well……..
waste of time
Torque specs are 150 ftlbs. You did maybe 20. That wheel will fall off. There are so many things wrong here, too many to count.
Please send a link to the video where you do it better. Why would you be watching this video if you do it better. Asking for a friend
agreed.......novice
You really should try not to touch the face of the brake pads. Dirt and grease from your gloves are not good for the brakes.
