New Brake Pad & Rotor Kit from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ABFS11183
This video shows you how to install new, quality TRQ brake pads and rotors on your 2011-2019 Ford Explorer. Brake pads wear out over time, much like tires, and need replacing, on average, every 50,000 miles, with variations depending on driving habits and environment. Brake rotors may also need to be replaced if they are warped or grooved. Often, it’s safer and more cost effective to replace pads and rotors at the same time. Squealing or grinding noises, or wheel vibration are all symptoms of worn brakes.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
    2011 Ford Explorer
    2012 Ford Explorer
    2013 Ford Explorer
    2014 Ford Explorer
    2015 Ford Explorer

Just a note to let everyone know that maybe a little clearer. When you were compressing caliper, the tool fits into slots and does not just push piston, but it turns the piston in a clockwise direction, allowing it to retract. This type can not be pushed like with a c-clamp. Thanks

Thank you. We are a family of four and we are always looking for a way to manage our expenses.
I'm a novice, however, over the weekend, using your video I was able to view every step to do a complete brake job.
    Thank you so much!

this is an excellent video. I have 1 criticism. If you could explain why you have to position the piston a certain way it would help. It mates with the pin in the back of the pad and will knock the pad askew if it isn't in the slotted area. Otherwise, thanks for great instruction.

on my 2016 Explorer XLT rear brakes, I could not get the caliper piston to rotate inward with the tool with the bleeder open or the cover off the master cylinder. The emergency brake is off as well. I have not started on the other side but want to fix the drivers side if possible. Any help would be appreciated.

    I have two questions.
So you don't take the cap off the master cylinder container before you start working?
And do you not have to press the brake so the pads sit correctly before putting the tire back on?

Silicone lube on the brake pads! Should have cleaned or changed your gloves first.

Does anyone know why my rear calipers piston won’t retract all the way, no matter how much I spin it 😢
