Not all of these women were beautiful but they were all talented. I can't believe Greer Garson wasn't included here.

Possibly, a more likely reason is that her premiere role of Cathy in “Goodbye Mr. Chips” wasn’t until 1939. That led to her being more of a star of the 1940’s than the 1930’s.

Clara Bow was included and she was much more a silent film star who barely made a dent in the 30s.

Why do people keep insisting that the stars of the 20s, 30s and 40s had natural beauty? Of course they were nice looking and some were drop dead beautiful, but they were all photographed by professional, artistic talent who understood lights and shadows and how they played on the plains of a face. Their makeup was professionally applied and they were dressed by the top designers. Some bleached their hair. Some even had plastic surgery.
Don't get me wrong, these years were my favorite as far as movies go. I love watching them on the screen.

Oh yeah, Irene Dunne--my #1 pick. Her work in the pre-Code era is evocative--most notably, her depiction of Rae Schmidt in 1932's "Back Street". Heartbreakingingly beautiful. Miss Dunne was nominated five times for the Best Actress Oscar, but no wins. Not even an honorary Oscar. Such a shame.

WHY would you put A CHILD in this list of GEORGEOUS actresses? That is creepy. As a child, she would be pretty or cute, but GEORGEOUS??? That is for a mature person. Would you tell your friend that his 8 year old daughter is georgeous??? Would you even say anything about their childs appearance??? Shirley Temple does not belong on this list. Some of these women are just on here for being who they are and who are more known in pop culture. There are many more you may not have heard of that are really georgeous. Bette Davis was a good actress but was she georgeous, not really. If she weren't Betty Davis, would you look twice if you saw her on the street? No, you wouldn't. Same can be said for most of these actresses.

Stanwyck is my favorite especially her early movies. She played some real 'dames.' Even a burlesque queen in "Ladies of Burlesque" (1943) (from a book written by Gypsy Rose Lee), but I agree that Hedy Lamar was one of the most beautiful women ever. But again, her major fame came in the 40s.

@@auapplemac2441 loved Stanwyck too. Just so many beauties it’s unbelievable. Yes Lamar was exquisite. I still watch all the old stuff just to see them all. Ooh, Irene Dunne, Life With Father, my all time favorite movie. A young Elizabeth Taylor, I can’t think of the actors name who played “Father” I do know I love him, lol.
