    The claim that Joan was sexually abused by Henry Cassin is not true. That is a lie by sensationalist writer Lawrence Quirk. I have talked with his co-writer for that book, and there is NO source for it. Quirk told many lies in his book.

    Thank u for this! JC worked soooo hard to rise above poverty and her difficult childhood. Coming from a fifth grade education to b the articulate icon we see on screen is remarkable, and shows how that work ethic paid off. Talented, strong, gifted, and vulnerable, thats our Joan! Beautiful ❤

    I feel that the one big flaw in " Mommie Dearest" both the book and movie is that her childhood is brushed aside when it should really be a main focus. I feel that Tina Crawford didn't bother to focus on this. If your going to write a book about a "monster" you need to explain their origin. My mother battled booze and pills, but I would never tell her story without explaining where her pain came from. JC deserved a better telling of her "abuse."

    A beautiful woman, a great actress who has given so so much enjoyment. What a shame she decided to adopt. However even those we give we give . birth to can sadly be so sadly disappointing when they grow up , even when we spend. Our best years doing our best for them..

    It must have been very difficult to be Joan Crawford… she was gorgeous so every man made advances, she was a great actor so every other actor felt threatened. As she said in an interview she had limited education yet she had street smarts to deal with all of this. She had rotten parents yet tried her hand at motherhood with different results on who you believe.. all this while having to deal with alcoholism. It must have been very difficult to be Joan Crawford, I don’t think any of us could do it, so just enjoy her remarkable work and leave your judgment at home…

    So this says she attended college, she says she never went beyond the fifth grade. Hmmm

    • @goldduxt
      @goldduxt  11 месяцев назад +21

      She says in the video that beyond the fifth grade, she received no *formal* education. Meaning while she attended school, she did not learn. She had to work. There are direct quotes from her book in the video showing incidents of this. So the time college came around, even though she had the credentials, she was not educated.

    The most important trait my parents taughte while growing up is respect and obedience to them. Crostna Crawford's attitude towards Joan was some kind of envious if not jealousy of Joans success. She wanted that game which never came to fruition thus hate engulfed her to the extent that she went to destruct miss Crawford. To Cristine, Joans training meant cruelty and worse, abuse. Her atonement to Joan is going to take a long while.. but then it's too late
