His voice IS professional. I watched a video by a woman who was evidently reading from her notes or some pre-written biography and although her voice was not unattractive it was very jarring to listen to because she paused in all the wrong places.
I can't believe he received one Oscar, he really deserved to get one for gone with the wind! Nobody could have played that part like him. Great actor, handsome! It's so sad he lost his wife Carol Lombard , they were perfect together!
Clark Gable will always be "The King of Hollywood". No other actor, or for that matter, no other man had his charisma, and alpha male personality. It is telling that he was referred to as "Mr. Gable" by the people that interviewed him and by his fans when they would meet him. There will never be another like him.
After Lombard died, Gable enlisted in the air force. An officer, he went against regulations and went on bombing missions, serving as a gunner. During the war, he visited a hospital for wounded soldiers. A medical officer, a major I believe, showed him around. They came to one shot up kid and the doctor went on about how the kid only had two hours to live. When Gable objected to talk like this in front of the poor soul, the doctor reassured him the boy was too shot up with morphine to understand anything. When Gable saw a tear come down the soldier's face, Gable took the officer out to the hall, threw him up against the wall and said if he ever did anything like that again, Gable would kill him. Since reading that story, my respect for Gable knows no limits.

He was a favorite of the studio publicity photographers. While actors and actresses fretted and insisted on being photographed a certain way, Gable would just say, 'Shoot away.' He didn't care how the pics turned out.

Thank you Jerry for another truly interesting biography. I enjoyed this one very much. I had no idea he was so young when he passed. Again I learned a great deal. Take care, Kat
Hollywood doesn't want us to focus on the facts about one of these most glamorous actresses- she had been beaten by her husband and lost her kidneys. Mr Gable was so kind to get her to the hospital as he had charmed her mother into acquiescing into the trip to the hospital. Apparently he was the only one trusted enough to keep the secret from the public. Pretty much the gentleman.
Ed Miller well if you’re gonna go after or confront someone at least use the correct darn word! ‘Loose’ is as in ‘your shirt is too loose’ or ‘my horse got loose’! But if you ‘lose’ something it means it’s gone, ‘I’m gonna lose my shit bcuz people constantly misuse the words!’ Or ‘seriously lose the loose tooth already kid or I’m gonna tie a string around it and tie it to the door then slam the door and yank it outta there!’
No ur all wrong Jean Harlow had an affair with William Powell aka The Think Man and she became pregnant with his child but had to have an abortion or was forced to by the head of the Studio because Powell was married and having an affair with the 26 yr old Harlow this would have ruined his career and unfortunately after she had the abortion she developed an infection that killed her. Clark Gable knew this and that's why he was so worried about her but unfortunately couldn't save her in time
No he wasnt . He did those screw ball comedies but after she died he joined the service for revenge and after that he did more serious films the rest of his career.

AND in the most pleasant voice of any biographical documentary I have ever seen.
Thank you, Jerry. Your gentle voice adds a lot of sympathy and understanding to these stories. I feel that you give attention to the many people who played important roles in the lives of these "stars."
Frankly My Dear, “ I Don’t Give A Damn.” We will never forget that line . Clark Gable was a great actor and so handsome.❤️❤️

VERY TRUE ...
Selznick was fined $5,000 ...a lot of money at that time, for the use of that word. They filmed the end 4 different ways but Selznick decided to cop the fine and use the word 'damn'.
Best documentary on Clark Gable. So much info in under 30 minutes.
It never fails.. I watch these and when it comes to the end of their lives I start tearing up! Anyone else???? Like I know that all of everyone passes away. But it is just something about how this man presents these documentaries.
I agree.
Me, too. Especially Clark Gable's.
The perfect quality audio and video on you tube, thanks sir.
I don't know how I got here glad I did. Somehow the narrator kept my attention the entire time and nothing holds my attention for 28 mins... this was an strange but enjoyable experience! Lol.
Thank you Mia, you are kind. Jerry
I agree. He’s captivating and interesting. I didn’t search for this. It was a suggestion and I’m glad it was because I love Clark Gable and this was a well made documentary.
He was one of Holly Woods GREATS . . . his "Work", speaks for itself.
I saw some parts from old clips when ship named after Carole Lombard was celebrated and
it was threw on sea's. He was there. He was standing. Pretending to be strong man. But I replayed this part over and over. His broken smile was near to explosion. He loved her so much. He kept piece of her always with himself, a piece of brooch from the place of tragic death that she received from him for Christmas. Friend of his told that he was always asking himself "why ma? why?' and he decided to go to the military and become a pilot because he wanted to die the same way. In sky, like she did.
So devastated story of those two amazing people.
He had such extraordinary presence and charisma! Truly one of a kind!
Very easy on the eyes too!
@@charlieangelyoutube he wasn't as nice as people think he date raped Loretta young she was 23 she was a actress she went away to hide her pregnancy and then she had her baby she said that she adopted her daughter when she was 2 the book is really sad but her mom was trying to protect her reputation and trying to protect her daughter she didn't want her to know that she conceived out of rape and at the time Clark Gable was married and he had 2 kids already and he went to visit his daughter once when she was 15 but he never told her that he was her father as a single mom pregnant out of wedlock back in those days her Mother made away to save her reputation and she was still a actress and she supported her baby on her own the book is really good

Thank you. I truly enjoyed watching this short documentary. At first, I too, was surprised by the narrator's soft, slightly southern, voice, but the voice was so gentle, and the facts so interestingly shared, I was entranced. I highly recommend this to anyone who loved, and admired, this great actor, Clark Gable.

Clark Gable was one of the greatest, most iconic 1930s male stars, he was amazing. The narration of this video was fabulous, he really helped everything said really tug at the heart strings.
is not fair Clark didn't get oscar for his legendary role Rhett Buttler... His acting is stunning and extraordinary in Gone With The Wind...

@Piatequila lol you believe in that "pure blood" shit in America ? well goodluck to you 😎
@Vickie OGLESBY Clark Gable got some black in him.
Thank you Jerry for taking the time making these video's. And including the people they were either married to or involved with. You are gifted at this! Again Thank You ☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆
Thanks so much for a "sober", informativ and brilliant documentary!
Another sad story of Hollywood. Rip King! Gone with the wind is the kind of movie I've watched a thousand times and can do again.

I really like Clark Gable in GONE WITH THE WIND. He has such a charming eyes. Just like Elvis Presley.

True n rather people saw it clark lost something about him when his true love passed n Elvis lost his twinkle when priscilla divorced him
Hauntingly beautiful. You did a great job narrating all that information and it really swept me away.. . . . . .
Hi, Jerry. Clark Gable was and still is a truly wonderful man, especially in Gone with the Wind, co-starring Vivian Leigh in 1939, the same year The Wizard of Oz came out. Gable would have been 115 this year. I wish you a joyous Merry Christmas, Jerry.
I loved this narration and what life with so many life's run-ins (for a lack of a better word) he lived. WOW!!! May he and all involved rest in peace.
Tragic and beautiful life. Thank you ever so much for your meticulous and passionate work. Lovely to hear you. Bonsoir.
Clark's career was never the same after WW2. He owned the 30's.
James Dunn Although Mogambo was one of his best.
Loved this bio. I loved to watch Clarks old movies.

Clark gable was one of the most
classic American actors, the macho type with a penchant for
beautiful women.
No lady could resist him. I couldn’t and I’m fussy!
He was a favorite of the studio publicity photographers. While actors and actresses fretted and insisted on being photographed a certain way, Gable would just say, 'Shoot away.' He didn't care how the pics turned out.
penchant for women... and some men, like Randolph Scott, cary Grant
Such a beautiful lady, and you Mr. Skinner did a great job. No annoying music beautifully put together. Thank you.
@Scott Anthony Fine thank you.
You are one of the best narrators out there. Thank you for presenting all the facts of Clark Gable and his wives.
He lost a lot of girls and women before his passing . So sad . I never knew all of this able Clark Gable . Thanks for sharing .

Hello Bonnie, How are you doing?
I always thought he was really gay. Just bounced from woman to woman to try to cover it. Sad life
A very well made and informative bio-pic Mr Skinner. I had no idea Mr Gable had such a difficult life. Thanks

What a fabulous, full life this memorably, gifted actor had. And all the lucky ladies who were loved by him. Thank you for the sentimental portrayal of the master of leading men..Mr. Clark Gable. Thank you so much for sharing this nicely documented & narrated pictorial history of a fine gentleman & distinguished actor❤
that documentary about Clark gable was excellent, it exposed an
incredible human life, thank you.
@Piatequila it’s the name of the game. Both in Hollywood and film industries abroad people married and hooked up for career advancement. If you didn’t accept someone else would in your position. It was a well-known fact that you couldn’t establish yourself in film if you didn’t marry or bed someone.
@Human Being ❤️
Thank you for this documentary on Clark Gable. I was not aware of his story and now, it’s all neatly composed and it will forever have the wonderful voice of Jerry Skinner to it.
Thank you Indira. Jerry
he was fantastic in gone with the wind
Muriel Harding : yes ! so fantastic !
Right? Scarlet was crazy for being so obsessed with that stupid Ashley over Rhett. Lol never understood it.

Fez Rhett Butler impecavelmente, nao ganhou o Oscar por este papel, mas para mim foi o melhor ator de Hollywood 💖💕🤴👑🤩💋💋💋
This voice and accent is absolutely perfect for the narration of golden age Hollywood movie classics and the people who played in them, and all the other celebrities of that time. Interesting, and weirdly calming at a time when there's so much angry yelling going on. Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!
I just discovered this channel. I will be binging on these videos all weekend long! ❤️
This is such a sad story ..Mr Gable he had such a sad life he knew so much heartache . He was the perfect match for Rhet Butler if we never remember him for any other role Rhet will live in are hearts and minds for ever ...

Thank you Mr. Skinner for this Commentary on Clark Gable. You do a fantastic job. I enjoy listening to you.

Clark Gable knew this and that's why he was so worried about her but unfortunately couldn't save her in time
Paul Bern was gay and never hurt her
Clark Gable was never the same again when his Beloved Wife Actress Carol Lombard suddenly died from a plane crash.
I agree....you can just see it in his face and his eyes especially. Sad.
