A documentary exploring Joan Crawford's life and experiences in New York. Presented by: The Concluding Chapter of Crawford www.TheConcludingChapterOfCrawford.com
I think this is one of the best Joan Crawford video ive seen - we have all seen the Hollywood years umteen time in various forms but we have been missing something good like this about later years - thank you - its sad her husband died when he did it would have been a nicer and softer ending if had been there until nearer the end of her life - he seemed to give her much needed interests and focus away from the film industry - they seemed so right together
I so love this! Specific times and places in Joan's life brings her closer to me as I was living in New York during most of this time. A job well done, Bryan! May she rest in peace.
Thank you for this especially on the anniversary of Joan's passing; I was actually just watching Mildred Pierce on TCM; always amazed by her life and work.
Love that film as well. Joan passed away on the wedding anniversary of her final marriage (probably the happiest one) to Al Steele so this was also the 65th anniversary of her final marriage as well as the 43rd anniversary of her passing. Her funeral and placement of the urn containing her ashes took place on my B-day - an unlucky Friday the 13th indeed! ;(
Joan Crawford was a Wonderful Actress. Her eyes showed so much emotion. Grand Hotel, Rain, A Women's Face are a few of my favorites, I love watching her movies. The actresses now don't even come close to Miss Crawford. Rest in peace🌹
This was great! Ahhh my NYC. Rest in peace Joan. Also RIP to Theatre 80 on St. Marks Pl...a wonderful place! How I miss going there. Thank you for this!
For a girl that lived in the back of a wash room as a young girl she sure made something "out of nothing" as they say. She typified the Arian (Aries) woman to a tee!
7:30 I LOVE this building . As a college student - my WISH was to land a small office job, in a cubicle, in NYC . Then, I could afford an apartment in this sparkling 1060s building ! I've been to a LOT of vintage apartments in NYC . I was always drawn to the MOD ones .
I had to pause at :20---Mrs. Alfred Steele had truly found love, the happiness radiates all over her face; thanks a million Joan for sharing the golden advice on your photo technique, which I read many years ago somewhere as your directions to take good photos were to do the following: 1) Do not look at the camera directly, instead 2) Tilt your head up slightly, turning either to the 3) Left or Right, whichever one is your best side and 4) Smile from that angle, looking in that direction; it really works! Try it and see; Joan Crawford lives---Christopher Cardenas/Andromeda International Records
I passed her NYC home wih Al Steele many times to hope to see her. I bought her 1971 book when It first came out. I thought to myself one day that I had not heard about her for a long time and within days she was gone.
Thank you for providing a beautiful accurate summary of Joans life in New York. Watching this has shown me the insides of what I hear her reading on her book my way of life which I listen to every night! It's very fitting to releases this on the anniversary of her death
I don't know why but I always thought the fabulous Joan Crawford died because of a heart attack. I wasn't sure that the cause of her death was a pancreatic cancer although I have heard the rumours. Thank you so much for this video! We will always love her...❤️❤️❤️ (Of course it is a bit sad that here in Greece they do not appreciate her or worse they don't even know her name😟) I mean she is and will always be a legend❣️🌹
Beautifully done, Bryan! I surely enjoyed the continuity. I often get so confused where she lived and when, and the exact time of her last events. Thank you so much for this wonderful documentary!
Great video! I had always wondered what her other places in NY were like and where.. How awesome it must be to live in one of her old residences.. Thank you for making such an informative video!
She was ambitious like few people are. I can't blame her. Who wants to live poor or poor the way she grew up. She never wanted to go back there again. I can't blame her. She made it work for her no matter what. Good for her!
Very interesting to learn about this part of and place in Joan Crawford's life. Maybe someone else knows more about this but I've read that after what probably the appearance at the Rainbow Room, Joan saw footage of herself and wasn't pleased with her appearance and so decided to retire from public life.---This is off-topic but I'll go ahead and say that I've never been to New York City but would love to live in one of those great apartment buildings there, especially if it overlooks Central Park. What a pleasure it must be to live in one of those structures and be able to look out at the views of New York.
Thank you so much for this upload. It's doubtful I'll ever see New York or Manhattan; but through your upload, I get to see the places that were so closely associated with Joan toward the end of her days.
Thank you for such a memorable video. I cried when the Mighty Joan Crawford died. To me she was the greatest movie star Bar none. RIP my Joan Crawford. And I never believed those treacherous lies adopted Christina Crawford said about her. If true why didn't she say it when Joan was alive? Shame on you Christina.
Such a well researched piece. It was fascinating seeing all of Joan's haunts. I couldn't help but to notice how accurate Ryan Murphy's depiction of Crawford's remaining years (in Feud: Bette and Joan) all the way to the 1960's "modern" apt. I was hearing Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head when they showed that building.
SNARKY ENIGMA Yeah her buddy Bette Davis in her final years used to walk her pet dog in NYC and look like a kinna "bag lady" almost unrecognizable ! Don't forget there was Ron Gallella around snapping pictures n stalking Jacqueline Kennedy around !
Thank you for this video. It's so nice to see good and well researched content on Joan. This was a great documentary with lots of unseen photographs, including an alternate shot from Joan's last photo session. I tried to find you on Instagram since I'm not on Facebook anymore but couldn't. Can you please link the account? Thank you.
“It brings tears to my eyes.” Wait until I drive my knee intro crotch, that’ll bring tears to those eyes. Why would anyone be flattered being portrayed by a drag queen. That’s an insult and no, Joan Crawford worked hard to be a star and stay there. Get fucked.
@Therapist 84 And those men loved to mock her ad nauseam with their bitchy comments. All they were doing was fueling hatred for a classy lady and unforgettable actress.
Great video - and very wise choices to use instrumental versions of "New York, New York" and "Arthur's Theme"! Found it prophetic that at 1:35 on the Times Square photo there's a Pepsi logo since she & Al served many years as Pepsi's spokespeople. You have a great channel & web site!
I really like all her movies, my favorite is "Female on the beach" with Jeff Chandler. Miss Crawford was so feminine & also tough in that role, so very pretty, you can feel the sexual tension between Joan and Jeff.
Hey there I’d be able to provide professionally recorded voice work for any future projects and for free because I love Joan Crawford and I need to have some work for a sizzle reel for a possible new cartoon show about Hollywood, I’d really like to help you!
outstanding vid i will check that website - JC thought that being married to a business exec would get her past the co-op board at river house but in those days thespians were strictly excluded - also, the pres. of coca-cola was on the board - in retaliation, the pepsi sign blaring into that hallowed precinct-
From shop girl to the heights of stardom. One does not speak of Hollywood without mentioning Joan Crawford.
She was my best friend and patron. Always so generous and hosted many of my art shows. A truly wonderful and thoughtful friend. We all miss her.
She was so beautiful and elegant
I get the impression that Mr. Steel really loved Joan . He seemed like a lovely man. X
She was bigger than life, one of a kind. Thanks for this video!
Joan Crawford led a fascinating life both in Hollywood and New York.

I LOVE THIS WATCHED SEVERAL TIMES, REST IN PEACE TO A GREAT LADY
Joan left her mark on the world!
Truely a legend! 💕🥰
Will Haynes was her decorator? Wow!
NYC was blessed to have her.
I so love this! Specific times and places in Joan's life brings her closer to me as I was living in New York during most of this time. A job well done, Bryan! May she rest in peace.
Thank u so much for this lovely video in such an ugly time! Thanks for everything.💋💋💙💙
1977. Massive losses that year. Joan, Elvis, Groucho Marx, Bing Crosby. Ouch.
Thank you for uploading this. Joan Crawford was a phenomenal lady.
Such a well done video. I love NYC even more now. Thank you.
Thank you for this especially on the anniversary of Joan's passing; I was actually just watching Mildred Pierce on TCM; always amazed by her life and work.
Lots of Joy great movie!

It closed??
Joan Crawford had panache ! She definitely was quite an actress in the perfect era ...⚘🌷⚘
I have been inside some of those buildings but did not know the history associated with Joan. Thank you for sharing this information.
Your archival info and devotion to your subject are both impressive and unparalleled, as Crawford biography.

Wonderfully informative. Ya gotta love Joan! Thanks for posting.
Loved it, thank you. Nice touch being able to watch it on the anniversary of her death also. RIP Joan ❤️
I love this documentary even more on a second viewing. If I ever get to visit NY again I may seek out some of these places.
When you get caught between the moon and New York city, the best that you can do is fall in love.
I passed her NYC home wih Al Steele many times to hope to see her. I bought her 1971 book when It first came out. I thought to myself one day that I had not heard about her for a long time and within days she was gone.
Thank you for this - fabulous.

Great video! She was an amazing woman. 🌹🌹🌹
Great video! I had always wondered what her other places in NY were like and where.. How awesome it must be to live in one of her old residences.. Thank you for making such an informative video!
found this randomly, but it was really nice! i looked up each property on Zillow while watching, these apartments were all beautiful.
Great video! Next time I visit NYC, I will make it a point to see her handprints. The narrator has a wonderful voice.
There are some people so wonderful they should not be allowed to die and Joan Crawford is one of them.🌷
She was ambitious like few people are. I can't blame her. Who wants to live poor or poor the way she grew up. She never wanted to go back there again. I can't blame her. She made it work for her no matter what. Good for her!
Wonderful! Plus, the narration is superb. Just fantastic on all points.
Thanks for posting! She has been and continues to remain my all time favorite actor. 😊

Seems like the nyc years were generally good to Miss Crawford/. Much kinder than her Hollywood years we gave her a great retirement..

Thank you, well done!
Really enjoyed, thank you
You did such a wonderful job with this video, thank you for posting it.
This is a very classy conclusion. Thank you for showering her memory with love and respect.

Beautiful video! Great narrator, music, and filming. Thank you!
For Joan…. 💗
Joan was interred in the Steele crypt at Ferncliff Cemetery and Mausoleum in Hartsdale, NY.
love, Love, LOVE JOAN!!!! Always think of her whenever I walk by The Winter Garden and St. Malachy (also known as the "Actor's church") in midtown.

And I never believed those treacherous lies adopted Christina Crawford said about her. If true why didn't she say it when Joan was alive? Shame on you Christina.
Well done Bryan, as always.
How ironic. I'm watching this on the 43rd anniversary of Joan's death.

OK. So where can I find a copy of that portrait used in WHTBJ? It's one of the most beautiful pairings ever of Joan! I have to have a copy!
Thank you! I learned so much.
Great footage! Thank you so much.
I love joan 😍 and I love the old NY
Always remembered with love...
Say what you will about Joan but she was amazing to her fans unlike the celebrities of today.
Interesting to see Joan's final years, and snapshots of the New York City in which I grew up.
Happy Mother's Day to us! Thank you for this upload!

I wonder if she ever knew how many drag queens would honor her by pretending to be her. It brings tears to my eyes.
🙄
She would have been embarrassed. She was old school. And a man dressing up in full drag impersonating her would have been a disgrace in her eyes
“It brings tears to my eyes.” Wait until I drive my knee intro crotch, that’ll bring tears to those eyes. Why would anyone be flattered being portrayed by a drag queen. That’s an insult and no, Joan Crawford worked hard to be a star and stay there. Get fucked.

I've seen drag queens portray "wire hanger" Joan more than anything so I doubt she would be honored
An enjoyable look into Joan’s later life in New York City.
Wonderful video. I always found Joan Crawford to be fascinating. ❤️
I absolutely LOVE me some Joan Crawford!!!! Rest on Joan.... love u always! 💙
Amazing Video....!!! Thank you.......
Thank you for sharing!!

Enjoyed the video good job 👏🏽 cheers 🕺🕺-The Boyz
I really like all her movies, my favorite is "Female on the beach" with Jeff Chandler. Miss Crawford was so feminine & also tough in that role, so very pretty, you can feel the sexual tension between Joan and Jeff.
Oh yeah! That was a great movie. She could really make a picture come alive.
Excellent!!!
Love her always
A very charming video
Still miss her
Love her gown at 5:13 😍
I need a JC tour in NYC!!
