I love Grayson, but I get why she “had” to die at some point (tho not so early) she symbolised the potential that basically all the most powerful characters COULD have, but CHOSE not to spend. She was the compromise, the diplomacy and the “one” person with authority who showed humanity to PEOPLE regardless of their origins. She fought to prevent a war between nations to achieve peace, while all the other political figures fought to prepare for a war to achieve victory for themselves and their cause. Unlike most characters Grayson thought about the consequences of the pawns and not about the benefits of the players, a path which she, like, Marcus and any other corruptible person could’ve chosen for her own benefit BUT didn’t because she is genuinely a caring person. All that symbolism led to her death, because once the audience saw all her motivations and actions beforehand, we automatically knew that this meant the war WAS starting despite some “heroic” wishes. She was basically the lamb that was offered to slaughter and with her gone the force that kept apart Zaun from Piltover no longer held the nations back from each other. (I love analysing characters, okay?!)
Grayson was an enforcer. Maybe she was a humanist and legitimately cared, but her work ultimately kept Zaun tied to Piltover under the same oppressive conditions it endured forever. In that role, along with Vander, they were far more harmful to the people they claimed to care about than others. People act like the tragedy is the war, and not the passive decay Zaun endures per every unit of time "the peace" is kept.

And even then, the Council would've probably just cut deals with Zaunite barons to maintain the trade. The only tragedies in this aspect are Silco's death and Jinx materializing the conflict at the wrong time. Vander's strategy of appeasement is criticized by the show itself in that the conditions of Zaun have not improved much if at all and Zaunites have lost most faith in his leadership. Pretty much every character criticizes him for it including those still loyal to him. And why wouldn't they? They are still cheap industrial labour living under terrible conditions that doom them to constant never ending hunger, disease, violence or death; and Piltover has little to no interest in its development beyond what's needed to avoid class warfare and catastrophic labour shortages.
@maxencejaunarena9773 He was too zealous and reckless. He acts like a rookie. Given the short timeskip between the opening scene and our first look at Piltover, I imagine he might've joined the enforcers in the aftermath of the last rebellion.
