yup!!!!!thank you so much for the confirmation of the check valve. The parts house ACTUALLY had a note, if your switch leaks continuously after shutting off, do not replace this switch!!! Replace or clean the check valve on the tank...your video confirmed the real issue!!! I was one who was saved from replacing the switch unnecessarily. thank you AGAIN. :)
Exactly. Before looking at this video I replaced the pressure switch. With no luck. I watched this and purchased a new check valve. And then everything was fixed. Thanks for the video as I did exactly what you said replacing the pressure switch for nothing. Thanks again!!
Sure helped me out. Unloader leaked on old pressure switch and did the same on new switch. Had no idea about this other component. Thanks loads.👍🙏. Yes! I had one of the check valves that can be easily opened. Rubber plug was off center. Fixed. Thanks again.
Thanks for the vid solved my problem. Early 80s Sears twin 2hp. The unit was apart for a while and some crud got in the check valve. I was happy to find it was serviceable, cleaned it out all good.
Great video! I had a leaking pressure switch, cleaned up the check valve of some corrosion and problem solved. 10 minutes of effort got me up and running again. Thanks for posting!
Can a load genie be replaced with a conventional check valve if I replace the switch with one that has the 1/4" unloader nipple on it? My old Speedaire doesn't even have a switch. It just plugs in and goes. I like it because it's a quiet oil pump type so I'm hoping to save it. The noise coming off the load genie sounds like a blown rod bearing on a car.
Had a bad check value so i replaced it. Now the compressor pumps up to 125lbs, then over a 3 or 4 hour period it leaks back to 110lbs. Then it stays there. I was wondering if i took it apart and stretched the new spring a little would it help? Please help if you can
My pressure switch leaks air when it's shut off until the tank empties... I replaced the check valve tonight with an oem valve and it did NOT fix the issue... Any help?
I have a question, btw, I liked and subscribed because you are very knowledgeable about something I need help with. Well, here goes, I added a series of copper lines (and a water separator just before the tank) in a grid on the wall for cooling, about 70 feet in between the compressor head and the tank to get rid of all the water. When I did, the line isn't letting the check close until all that air in that line empties. The 70 ft. of copper line takes about 3 minutes to bleed out thus wasting a fair amount of air. Is there anyway to fix this and is this doing any harm to my compressor? It did get rid of almost all of the water out of the tank, btw.
What I am seeing is, my exhaust valve is leaking when the compressor starts up. So the whole time it's running, the exhaust valve is leaking. But when it shuts off, the exhaust valve stops leaking and everything works as normal. What would this be?

Can a bad check valve cause it to not build any pressure in the tank
yes
Excellent. Answered all my questions about what is wrong.
Can I put a filter before my check valve? It keeps getting crap in it

Thank you, very educational.
There's are leaking into the oil when I pull the dipstick out air comes rushing out head gasket or check valve
Thanks God very much sir for sharing your knowledge.

It’s a one way valve
Thank you so much. Very helpful.
idk why but measuring thread size is more complicated than it needs to be
I'm looking for a replacement compressor for my big tank. I got it at Lowe's 25 years ago.
