Nice video. I now understand why a bad check valve at the tank entry would leak to a leak through the pressure switch when the pump is not running. The same action that opens the electrical contacts also opens the unloader check valve. The reason that the normal rush of air when the pump is shut off is so short is because, with a properly working tank check valve, only the small amount of air in the lines needs to equalize. Thank you for this

Well done video. I have a bad unloader valve. This is exactly what I needed. Thanks so much.

My compressor won't turn off! Now I'll be able to see why the pressure switch isn't working properly. Thanks for showing how these things work, great explaination, easy to understand.

Yeah, hope it helps! It'll be either unloader valve, or tank motor air inlet check valve. 👍👍

Excellent presentation! My pressure switch has just failed - can't actuate the On/Off switch button coz its push rod is stuck in the up-position and can't push the button down with the compressor air reservoir either empty or near full pressure (manually filled from the 240V supply) - no difference to the On/Off switch position! What symptom(s) did the small air dump valve exhibit when yours failed ? I think my dump valve has also failed leaving pressure in this line??? Did you have to purchase a complete switch or did you source a replacement dump valve?? Where did you source your replacement part from? You are obviously an Aussie and I hail from Gippsland, Vic. Cheers

Hmm, sounds like a possible starter capacitor fault, might need replacing, not sure. Here's a helpful forum thread that might help... www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/compressor-motor-keeps-blowing-fuses.89994/
