i replaced mine already but i don't regret it becuz the old one was hard to read pressures. but now i need to replace the check valve. it's one of those things, replace the part and equipment has same problem as with the old defective part.
After wasting all my money on the control valve switch you have showed exactly where my problem is. I am now happy with my compressor which works perfectly
Hey thank you for this video! Sent me to the check valve to find paper debris preventing the valve to close. Turns out air filter fell apart and got caught in the check valve. Removed debris and now operates correctly. Thanks again!
What a great video, very informative, I watched your video which explained how the NRV worked and it matched my symptoms completely, I pulled apart my NRV and found it has some fouling in it, cleaned and put back together, worked 100% Thank you for your video
Great video and to the point(even the title)without the drag on I watch in most before even finding out if they are useful. This was very useful and the title of your video was the problem I had. You see I busted the only non replacement section of line on mine when I bumped the outlet with my knee making everything twist. So after some fart assing around I simply replace the line with a bit of auto fuel line and a couple of clamps. It's only a cheap old 2ish hp someone gave me after mine was stolen. While wondering how to fix it I decided to pull it apart for a good clean and seal replacement on to motor........then after my makeshift repair the leaking out the exhaust valve had me stuffed. I watched this video when straight out to the shed and low and behold, I'd put the check valve in backwards 🤣.....there were a few drinks involved before I put it back together. Your video directed me straight to my failure so thank you so much for your time making this video. 👍
Thanks for the vid...yes, it was my non return valve...was already dismantling the valves in the heads and hadn't even looked at the NRV. Oh well, the main valves needed a clean up anyways! All the best from Oz...
I was trying to find a video like this and I didn’t know that the air coming out under the pressure switch had to do with the check valve on the opposite side of the compressor. Great work I’m glad I found this video, the other videos were showing me how awesome teflon tape was 🤦♀️. I know how to fix that type of leak 😂😂
Thank you so much for this video. I couldn't figure what was wrong with the pressure switch and all I had to do is clean the check valve. No more leaks from the pressure switch now
Extremely informative, thanks! I just learnt I need to replace it on my new DIY compressor. If your customer service is as good as the informative video I'm almost sorry I haven't bought the it from you ;)
Thank you U.K Guy I bought another control valve thinking that was it and was the Valve on The compressor tank.that small high pressure switch I'm trying to change that out watching your video now I see it is not that it is the one that is connected to the compressor tank thank you so much
Great video! I loved the clear diagrams. Just a wide-ranging U had the exact problem of air leaking from under the pressure switch, and it was the diaphragm that had a leak in it. So that is another possible cause for air leaks.
Thank you so much, I was searching and searching for a complete pressure switch to replace mine because my exhaust was leaking and I thought my plastic exhaust was cracked.... just need top clean / replace a check valve.....
@@RyanBurisch it is popping air I disconnected the hose coming out of the compressor itself. I'm close to you just taking it off the tank, mounting it to something and making a little enclosure. Really don't need the tank but I couldn't find a small compressor that size to air up car tires in the winter and I drain it with the petcock every time I'm finished to prevent rust also I check my tires with the tire gauge when I'm done
Very good thanks but my compressor is leaking from under the pressure switch as your video advertises but only when running.. Shall just I replace the switch?
That sounds like it might be the unloader valve which needs checked, or replaced. It sits under the pressure regulator switch and is marked exhaust valve in the video here.
Hello there buddy i have a Clark industrial compressor and i have bought a new motor and pump with a new check valve my compressor is not storing any compressed air in the tank can the pressure switch be at fault and i've also checked the reed valves but still nothing
Hi I have this problem on my wolf Dakota compressor which is the same design as this. I have done this twice and it has happened again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
In my case, I think it is the unloader itself not the non-return valve that is the problem. If I give the switch box a tap while there is air exhausting out from underneath, the unloader shuts, the leak stops and does not reoccur until the compressor has been left off for a few days. I have a complete new replacement switch box but I am being lazy and trying to avoid having to replace it completely and changing over all the fittings and gauges with either Teflon tape or Loctite 542 sealant. I will try squirting a bit of Servisol switch cleaning and lubricating fluid up the unloader port underneath the switch, with a long straw. If that does not work, I have the new switch to fall back on.
I have a scenario where part of the air pumped on initial fill (from zero pressure till ~ 1 bar) is wasted from the control unit. Thereafter, all air goes into the tank. And there are no leaks while running or while not above this pressure. So it's not a check valve as this video is about. Do you know what this could be?
SuperDooper; there’s only one thing that I (wouldn’t) & that’s use the liquid sealant/locking compound as it would present a cleanliness situation next time! Oh, never mind me it’s just the nature of a nuclear submarine mechanic (retired).
I found my leak right at the bottom of the valve where it screws into the tank. I unscrewed it without heat,( it was tight due to whatever was on there from factory) But I got it off & cleaned threads with wire brush then used pipe dope on threads & screwed back in. No leakes
What I am seeing is, when my air compressor is running, the exhaust valve is leaking. But once it shuts off, the exhaust valve stops leaking and it works normally. What could that be?
@@kevinwarner959 I have not. I'm sure it's some type of gasket that went bad somewhere. But I don't use it every day. But at some point I need to fix it because it takes twice as long to fill up the tank then before this issue.
Thanks. I returned it to shop. oil inside in its tank, very dificulte to restored.also piston, and its seal had been broken. too much problem. I will buy oilless one.
You just saved me from needlessly replacing my pressure switch before figuring out what was really wrong. Thank you!

U just help me repair my compressor, wish I hadn't bought the pressure switch because I thought it was the issue.
Thank you
Thank u very much ❤
Really well explained with your diagrams. Now I know all about the complete operation of air compressors with an auto switch. Thank you
i wasnt sure what was wrong with my compresser but you nailed it!!a quick and easy fix!!!!thank you

Best technical video I have watched - clear, precise and to the point. Well done!
Nicely done video. Greatly appreciated the info on curing sealant, heat to remove and time to let it set/cure after installation of parts.
Cheers
Just finished fixing my compressor, thanks for the detailed breakdown.
My "regulator" had been leaking for 15 years. But, thanks to you, I replaced the check valve and it is perfect. Excellent video!
Very creative use of metaphors there.... Stevie.....:>)

Great work. Thanks a lot for this explanation. This is the first that I now how the compressor control system works pneumatically.

I can't believe what my auto type software does. "Just a thought" becomes "a wide ranging U". Wow!
Thanks for the upload. Ive managed to fix my issue thanks to your video.
Thanks for posting, exactly the problem with mine today, air leaking and blown fuse. Saved me a lot of time and trouble. Thank you.
Great video. Thank you for sharing. Ive learnt more from this than all the webites I've been visiting.
Thank you very much for your teaching me how to repair my air compressor I get crazy because of this problem thank you again.
Thank you! Had a piece of dirt stuck in mine. Cleaned it and works great now.
Thanks for the tips, that was exactly what was wrong with mine. A small piece of debris in the check valve. Thanks again. Norman
excellent video! many thanks to gt air projects. well done!

I have fixed mine ,because of you. Thanks a lot 🙏 💓
Did fixed my compressor thanks to this video
Thanks for the video and how about if the compressor is running and you can't hear any air escaping because it's not building up
Sounds like a blown head gasket or bad reed valves

Ahh so that's where my leak is. Cheers mate!
Thank you, you saved my compresor i almost burnd it down
Darn. I bet this is the reason my compressor is busted but I don't have the wrench to get in there and inspect.
Thanks for the clear diagrams.
Great explanation on a common problem i was not aware of.Problem solved.
Very impressed with your explanation and advice .
I was just about to order a new switch for my compressor, then I watched this. just hit the valve with a hammer and it's now fixed😂
Thank you so much, resolved my problem without extra costs, greetings from Brasil!
Nice one. Perfect explanation has given me a perfect fix. Thanks.
Thanks dude, mine ended up being a broken spring in the non return valve!

If I am hearing a weird flutter noise, does that mean its a check valve?
Great value. Great looks.

Would a good grade thread lock not do the same job as the sealant?

Thanks for this, Mine is leaking air constantly under the pressure switch once the compressor reaches it's cut off limit
Nice tutorials 👌
Loved the animation, very informative !!!!

God bless you my friend thank yiu so much
This rly helped! TY!!!
British people always explains stuff the best. Lol. I don't understand why Americans can't explain anything well.
Thank you. Exactly as said a small piece of dirt on the rubber piston.
Thats EXACTLY what She said..(wink-wink)..:>)
Nice post thanks 👍
I have seen a lot of home made air compressor without using the the check valve, would it cause any problems?
It wouldn't be very efficient, all the air would leak out the tank the moment the motor turns off.
Beautiful video well described

Thank you, love google and youtube. Can normally find the solution in seconds :)
Can check valve be repaired... i have tye same issue to may pressure switch. Its leaking air when it stops
THANKS 😊 helpful indeed 👍
Thank you 👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Replaced my check valve and still have air going through to the escape valve (solonid) what to do?

Wow just thrown my compressor out in the yard cus of this fault, I guess I'll fix it now 👌🏻
very good indeed
THANKS !
Thank you
You never said you cleaned the check valve or put a new one on
Sir I have a problem ,my compressor turning wheel not turn, sometimes turn very hard when the air is full the air is leaking by oil putting place.
If its one way, how can pressure switch work?
Hi, I bought new parkside 24L compressore, I turned on and then It threw out oil and no turn off automaticaly. what is wrong with, thank you.
...is it still doing that?....:>)
Thanks. I returned it to shop. oil inside in its tank, very dificulte to restored.also piston, and its seal had been broken. too much problem. I will buy oilless one.
Mine I think it is bad, because . I disconnected the pressure switch, and the compressor kept turning off.
7:28 took me a few minutes to realize this is an advert for 'Good Old X4550'!!!!...HEY KIDDIES!...Its GREAT on cereal TOO!....:>)
👍
so mine gets to 100psi swiches off then it bleeds off 25 psi
Hi I have a question sir. It is possible i can block the connection between check valve and pressure switch?
Are you mad?
