I think they were afraid it might be mistaken for a Queen song because obviously Freddie's voice is so recognizable. I recently came across an interview with Billy saying how disappointed he was when they made him remove the intro. He said anytime Freddie Mercury sings one of your songs it's like a dream come true and he said that think of how it would have helped his career.
