    What makes Billy Squier a true original is his unmistakable voice, his consummate guitar playing, and the passion and drive of his band. You put that all together, and you have effortless chemistry. There won't be another one like him. Billy Squier's music will live on and resonate with those who truly appreciate classic rock. Thank you so much for creating your own style and thank you for proving it was all worth it.

    Many moons ago during the great conquests, I was with my soon to be favorite wife. Billy & the band did an outdoor show in Tulsa on the river. I talked the now Mrs. Clark into going & we had seats down close. She had no idea of what to expect but when the 1st band started up, she was shocked at the volume. I said, "This is nothing." & handed her ear plugs. She suffered thru that but when Billy hit the stage it was deafening. The show was amazing & I loved it, but Mrs. Clark was in pain. She lasted, but said never again. 2 years later we were in Norman, OK for the Stones "Bridges" tour, 10 rows back center. I again got out the ear plugs which she used, but this time she boogied, dancing in the isles & into the mood. Now we're 70 & listen to quiet music on the educational channel. Oh well, thank god for RUclips videos.

      You are right. Brockton, MA's Own drummer Bobby Chouinard izz waaay underrated. In my Geezer Years (at almost the same age as Billy S.) I am coming to appreciate Bobby's skill & timing. Too bad we lost him so long ago.

    The first time I ever heard of Billy Squire was about 1980 or so when he was playing one of the "Rock Superbowl" stadium concerts. None of my friends riding down to the concert knew anything about him either and being the buttheads we were, we kind of made fun of his name like it wasn't cool enough or something, figured he probably sucked. Let me tell you we weren't making fun of him on the way home. Billy Squire was apparently one Hell of a Rocker - put on a better show than a couple big name acts. I've known and respected his name ever since!

    Many years ago, in N.Y. I did some playing with Billy.. he ended up with a few of my friends as his regular band..... R.I.P., Jeff Golub, guitar, Bobby Choinard, Drums, and the most recent, fellow lefty bassist- Doug Lubahn. Incredible that they're all gone now. That, was a great band.

    • @bb-gc2tx

      how was it playing with him.?

    • @bigbass421
      @bigbass421 2 года назад

      @@bb-gc2tx I remember that Billy was always a nice guy, to me anyway. I knew him from around the 'scene' before I played a few times with him and a drummer we both knew, in what I now know, was a search for the backing band he'd end up recording and touring with.

    • @bb-gc2tx
      @bb-gc2tx 2 года назад +1

      @@bigbass421 that was killer band. Especially the drummer Bobby chouinard. That’s cool story. I’ve heard different story’s some say billy nicest guy and other story saying he was very arrogant

    • @bigbass421
      @bigbass421 2 года назад +1

      @@bb-gc2tx I played with Bobby in a few other band situations, and at jams. He was a really nice guy, we always enjoyed working together. I was sad when he passed. I was also good friends with The Late Doug Lubahn, he was also a lefty bassist like me. Doug played with many bands, including some great bass playing on Doors albums. As far as Billy goes, he was always nice to me, and that, is my experience.. others, I don't know. I could tell you stories of all the scumbags there were in N.Y. back in the day..but those people don't matter to me at all. Even my 'friends' on the scene from the seventies and eighties, aren't my friends anymore. Political differences will do that. Some things are far more important than keeping friends that will betray you.

    • @bb-gc2tx
      @bb-gc2tx 2 года назад +1

      @@bigbass421 I hear you on the betrayal of friendship. My advice on political differences is don’t bring it up with people you know will turn into an argument. Or be like my brother and I. We have polar opposite opinions. But we joke about it.
