I used to sneak into my sister's room & listen to her albums- she'd catch me & drag me out literally by my hair. This was on cassette & she had a Walkman, but same risks.
We'll never have music like this again. Billy Squier's sound is unmistakable and timeless. "Don't Say No" is one of the greatest albums ever created. Thank you, Billy. Reply
18 here. Mom and dad raised me on this type of rock. Only really NOW started to like Billy Squire and Billy Idol. Found THIS one again while I was driving through i-70 in a rain storm. Good driving music
Billy's "Rock Me Tonite” dancing seems to have turned a lot of fans or could be fans against him. It's stupid but it happened in our unforgiving world.
How could a song this great not make the Top-40 singles chart? It’s one of my all-time favorites, and Billy Squire was in top form. A pity the 1980s will never return.
This song got tons of airplay back then, so it might as well have been Top-40. Most of Billy's songs were very popular, if it truly didn't make the Top-40, it was because Billy didn't release it as a single.
Billy Squier could not put out a bad song! everything he touches turns into a solid gold hit. You can clearly see how much fun he's having, this is one of his favorites for sure
@@Jillady Believe it or not, Stroke is about the record labels stroking the artists to get them to sign off of their fair share of the royalties. Just saw an interview on that not too long ago and after Straight Out Of Compton, it kinda made sense.

I am a big fan of Billy Squire. He was different from the others of the time because he wore no make up or fancy clothes, and he could dance, but didn't make a show of it. His voice is distinctive and his songs are something that I want to listen to more than thirty years later.
BADASS...an actual musician. Totally underrated. Billy - if you see any of this, know you are HIGHLY, HIGHLY regarded and we do recognize your INCREDIBLE talent.
Just curious: do you like any rock music from the 90's? I get the feeling that a lot of Baby Boomers gave up on music in the 90's. I'm Gen X (54 yrs. old).
There's something really special about this song. I wouldn't want to hear *anybody* else singing this - Billy Squire is the only one that I want to hear singing this. ♥️♥️♥️
The cover in “The Dirt”, the Motley Crue biopic, is phenomenal. Unfortunately It’s not on the films soundtrack and I have yet to find it in its entirety. There are clips, though.
Damn > I'm still rocking out to Billy Squier and I'm now 53. Sounds just as good as ever. This was always my favorite song by him > Timeless rock and roll.
I can listen to this tune over & over. Leaves nothing to be desired. Squier's music was & is up there with the best. Pure, unadulterated Rock & Roll at it's finest.
This song came out right as I was experiencing those very lyrics in my life, at that time. It was as if Billy was inside my head repeating what I was feeling and going through in my relationship. I'll never forget that nor the girl I was with.
