As gritty and deep when Billy Squier hits his notes, Freddie Mercurys voice still finds a way to stand out over Billys even as a backing vocal!!! The two together tho mix sooooo well together. What a gem.
Those moments in life when you think you've heard it all then you discover a new hidden gem. With Mercury on backups... and you crank it 24/7. This song is so rich. Musically, vocally, lyrically. Life is good.
Yep, I don't understand why "classic rock" stations are STUCK on the same tired old playlists of overplayed singles from Boston, Zep, 38 Special etc... This track was on the radio for a few months the year it came out, and that was it. Never heard it again. There are SO many great tracks from famous bands besides their hits that never get airplay. It's a shame.
Love Is The Hero Is An Absolutely Awesome Spectacular Great Straight Up KickAss Rock N Roll Song By Billy Squier And Totally Rocks It Needs To Be Fully Cranked Up All The Way To Full Maximum Volume.🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
It was a wonderful song before 9/11 and it still stands as a beautiful song. We just wish Freddie was still here, the towers still stood and the people who perished were still here.
Who is the guy on the backing vocals? He sounds pretty nice. I guess he would have the talent to write the greatest song(s) ever and and hold audiences in a stadium in the palm of his hand.
It's crazy that there are only 4 comments on this video. I was listening to Freddy Mercury rarities and found this. It's a cool song but I've never ran into it before. It's a lot better than the other songs I've heard where Freddy and Michael Jackson or someone else team up for a song (except for Under Pressure). I'm from the NY area, so it's nice for that reason, too.

Saw Billy and his band lead off for Queen in concert (1981)?. He and members of Queen prob became close friends. Freddie did him a solid favor as he was rocketing to stardom
I say you're right Jad. Billy has a unique singing voice even though there are some who compare him to Plant s voice which I don't see how he even comes close.
Freddie's the best singer ever, but he didn't sound as good as Billy on "Lady With A Tenor Sax" (hard to believe) but wisely, Billy released it with Freddie and Roger doing some backing vocals. I have the version with Freddie taking much of the lead, but don't like it at well as I do Billy's version, and I love Freddie.

Yeah that bit with the pink satin bedsheets...left a lot of us kids scratching our heads at the time. But I still bought his next 3 or 4 albums afterwards and enjoyed them.
Love the longer version with Freddie opening on vocals.
Would love to see them both singing together in the video / instead of filmed shots from different locations.
Oh yes! It is awesome

I Love the voice of Freddie Mercury inthe chorus

The big beat man himself 👍

Yes, totally amazing music. Incredible vocals.
Why don't classic rock stations play great music like this I'll never understand...

It's a Shame, Freddie was not in the vídeo. Freddie Forever in our hearts!!!

How wasn’t this a hit?
untalented hair bands were taking over mtv
Music magic. So glad you got to work with Freddie Mercury.
We need a high definition video of this, Billy. It's 2023.

Billy is a real life Link. He saved a bunch of stranded climbers in the Himalayas once. I saved a woman's life once, so this song is my anthem.

One of the first cassettes I ever purchased. I was 17 and had my first car. Wore this song out.
It was a wonderful song before 9/11 and it still stands as a beautiful song. We just wish Freddie was still here, the towers still stood and the people who perished were still here.
Such an amazing song, never gets old for me.
Billy Squier é vida! Com o saudoso Freddie Mercury então... perfeição!!
Missed this in the 80s, hearing it now in 2024 for the first time
Not only does Freddie Mercury do the background vocals, the whole song has an 80's Queen vibe.
It has a Billy Squier feel, to me.
Amo amo! Tanto Billy, quanto Freddie. Perfeição.
Featuring Bobby Chouinard, Brockton's BEST Drummer EVER !
I was still watching mtv when this came out yet I have no memory of ever hearing the song or seeing the video
love billy,so great!!!

Two things that no longer exist... the twin towers and Freddie Mercury 😢
I have always been a huge fan of Billy -but it would have been a great thing to have Freddie shown doing those vocals with him.

It was 1982. I attended the Queen/Squier concert in Houston in the late Summer of that year.
Great seeing Jeff and Bobby in this. Gone way too soon.
I can hear Freddie Mercury. Except I can't see Freddie Mercury
GREAT!
I say you're right Jad. Billy has a unique singing voice even though there are some who compare him to Plant s voice which I don't see how he even comes close.
Much better video than rock me tonite...Billy learned his lesson from that video.😂
It’s a better song too. Even if it wasn’t a hit
Too bad freddie wasn't in the vid!
Jman
Billy is awesome
Эту песню вытягивает ФРЕДДИ МЕРКЬЮРИ!
Love is definitely the hero today!
Squier is king
Yes he is....
Totally agree !
Mercury
Was it taken from "Enough Is Enough" Album by Billy Squire?
Yes it is, the leadoff single.
Beautiful song *
Totally amazing :)
Mil vezes amooooooo!!!
Почему не указан Фредди Меркьюри, поют вместе а начало песни Шикарное соло Фредди.
I like Billy Squier, but Freddie Is The Hero.
Billy's vocals are amazing. #soundcheck #hearingtests
What tha heck ... cool song but with is better with Freddie's intro.
The record company originally made Billy cut the intro for fear it would be confused as a Queen song. Glad its since been restored.
Awesome band lineup
With love ❤
Not really, because it would totally suck for your lead vocals when they're far bested by the backing vocals, since Freddie's voice is just divine.
Freddie's the best singer ever, but he didn't sound as good as Billy on "Lady With A Tenor Sax" (hard to believe) but wisely, Billy released it with Freddie and Roger doing some backing vocals. i dont think so,he has vocals great by himself if he needs too!!
Your love 💘 could be a hero , for I am yea , r these r your ,just words of some thing to fulfil a contentment!
The Fucking GOAT is Freddie mercury on backing vocals. Billy is cool tho
Too much talent in 1 musician.
Where's the Freddie Mercury intro?

Best song I ever hard!😃😄
🥁BOBBY CHOUINARD🥁
There is a lot of talent on this song written by Phil Collins
phil collins didnt write this
Where the hell did you get that from? Phil had nothing to do with this song.
Lol
It's better with intro by Freddie
Sadly, no one took him seriously after that awful video where he tore his shirt and pranced around.
all due to producer's ideas, who thought that it was the movement for videos at that time / space. But his artistry will always.... survive
That video would be no big today. So tired of hearing about it. He's a fantastic musician
Yeah that bit with the pink satin bedsheets...left a lot of us kids scratching our heads at the time. But I still bought his next 3 or 4 albums afterwards and enjoyed them.
