Go to MagicMirror/modules/MMM-NowPlayingOnSpotify/css/styles.css
Search for the module .NPOS_albumCover and edit the width however you like
Also, for anyone looking to get rid of the spotify logo when nothing is playing: Navigate to the same styles.css file, search for the module .NPOS_nothingIsPlayingImage and change the opacity to 0.

puts the album cover over to the top right of the spotify module, 27.5% makes it not clip over anything (if a song has a long name it will clip under the album cover though)

Not everyone is techy. I wouldn't know how to do any of this I watched the video and felt he was talking alien. Everyone is gifted in different areas but we all have the capacity to understand something new. Hense the question.

well, Probably the easiest video i have followed to date ! Thank you ! its running perfect, the cool thing is if i play from my pixel phone it shows that on the bottom and if i play it from a google home mini it then shows what GHM im playing from ! nice ! the only thing im not liking is if im away from home ( work ) and playing on spotify it still shows on the screen.. wonder if there is a way to disable if not on the same LAN.
1 Request as your background is very techinal, we have a NEST smoke/carbon dector.. is there a way to show the currect status of it.. ( everything is ok ) kind of message, this way i dont have to keep checking the NEST APP.
anyway, great videos and im a follower ! next project is to see if i can get Google Assistant running on top of an active MM or does it have to be loaded frst ! only reason i have countless hours invested in the MM with regards to our home garbage and recycle and leaf pickup dates and a few other things... if your intrested shoot me a line.

In a previous video it appeared the voice activation was through the mirror, here you can see the echo dot in the counter. Can you confirm this is just for displaying your current songs?
That’s how I’ve had it set up.

Video is a little misleading. For anyone wondering he is not running Alexa or Spotify through the mirror he is just setting up a module that shows what is playing on his spotify. The audio you hear is not coming from the mirror its coming from an amazon echo.

Wow - great job. Will watch the rest of the video (haven't yet), but didn't immediately see an infrared sensor for detecting motion and putting the monitor to sleep / waking upon motion. Did you do anything like that?

So I pick a song from my pc/mobile, it starts playing from the pc/mobile, but I can't listen trough my mirror, there is no possibility to listen from it the mirror itself. How can I fix this ?

Do you use a built-in Alexa (with a microphone plugged into your raspberry) or you are actually using the Alex device?
I try to start a song by using the MMM-Google-Assistant module but it doesn't seems possible to do ..

Hey Grensom! This is a great project, I followed all your smart mirror videos and it inspired me to build my own smart mirror...which is pretty much done. I have, however hit a bit of a snag...I've installed everything on my raspi correctly (and more times than I like to think about) and a bunch of different modules in addition. But my NowPlayingOnSpotify module will not play music over the onboard speakers. Mind helping out? Thanks, Brad

How to get both Alexa and the google assistant on the magic mirror?
I know we cannot get the google home features with the magic mirror because it is only the API so can we get the okay google feature and can see the text for the conversation.
Please tell us if there is a method for that.

Hey! Great Video! I have a question. I cannot get the music to play on my Magic Mirror, and I don't see an option to do that from my Spotify app. I am using a Raspberry Pi 3 connected via HDMI with a Bluetooth dongle that connects to my iPhone right away. I can see the song playing on my Magic Mirror but the audio playback is on my iPhone. Any ideas?!!!

Hey I see where someone else asked about the tutorial on adding Alexa to your smart mirror, I have a similar question. Did you use 2 separate raspberry pi’s on your mirror with Alexa integrated? In other words did you have one pi running AlexaPi and a second pi running magic mirror. If so were they connected in any way or 2 completely stand alone units housed in the same mirror?

Is that dot connected to the Mirror in some way or does it just happen to be near it physically? It looks like the mm is just displaying what the spotify acct is playing to what device. Seems more novel than functional.
How did you link Spotify to Alexa (or visa versa)? I've tried setting up the MagicMirror as a device in the Android Alexa app... It says the device is offline but apparently (according to Google) that's just the way it is. When I try to get Alexa to play music it says: "Sorry, music and playback are not supported on this device." Any ideas? Thanks.

This is amazing thank you. This is just me being picky but does anyone know if it possible to set the cover art to a different position than the track information on the magic mirror screen. Maybe with 2 modules, 1 with the artwork hidden and one not?
The reason i ask is that i have my mirror in portrait mode and i like to have the track bar for the current playing song across the bottom_bar section of the screen but the cover art then scratches to over most of the mirror. if i set the now playing module to bottom_left the cover art is then a nice size but the track bar is shortened.
Its not a big thing im just curious :)

It seemed very straightforward. However, although I followed the instructions step by step, the mirror's Google Assistant replies with "Hey, you need to enter your Spotify credentials in the config file first"". When I use the Google Assistant on my mobile, it works and shows the cover image on my mirror. What am I doing wrong?
Do we need echo to do this....Or we can use a normal speaker🤔🤔?
