Hi Peter, unfortunately ARM64 is a problem here. But your hard work is not all in vain. Copy your modules folder, the config.js and the custom.css (if you've made changes to the latter) from your MagicMirror folder onto a USB stick. After you reinstall the 32bit OS and Magic Mirror, just paste those back and you'll have your mirror config and modules up again without needing to redo the puzzling. Good luck buddy 👍🏼
@@HootieStyleChannel thank you really good suggestion. I may just do that before finalising and installing my mirror in the bathroom. I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t get the google assistant to work at all. Saviour 👌🏻

Hello! Thanks a lot for the video but I can’t find the gateway option in the wiki website? Should I just skip the step and install ext detector directly?
Are there any alternatives for 64 bit OS systems? I am trying to build a magic mirror with an old laptop haha. I guess the work around could be to install a 32 bit version of Linux
Thanks for your earlier response appreciate it, I wanted to change Javis's replies using IFTTT but was unable to find or do the change phrase? I watched your video where you spoke about the change in Google Assistant. Have you found a way to change the Assistant reply to a question? Thanks
Thanks for your awesome videos and thanks got Google assistant installed by following your excellent video. My stupid question is I need to install a mic so that Javis can hear me ? Besides the one you used, are there others that work with Magic Mirror and also do you plug the Mic into the pi or the usb into tv USB. Would I able to use the TV speakers for the sound. Last question, is possible to get Javis working on my Google home speakers ? Thanks again for great channel
Hi Vaughan, you're welcome :) To answer your questions: You can use pretty much any mic. You plug the USB into the Pi. Outputting the sound from your display is absolutely possible, as long as you're connected with HDMI. Using Jarvis as hotword is unfortunately not possible on your official Google Assistant products. Actually, I think there is a hardware hack for that but I haven't tried it. Good luck!
HI Thanks for the Previous help. I got Javis working and up and running but when I say javis Home assistant says Error: 3 invalid arguments . Any chance you know what it might be thanks
Hi, I've done all the steps till installing the npm and node. when I type the following command "sudo n 16.18.0", I'm getting an error saying "/usr/local/bin/node: cannot execute: required file not found". I've made sure to replace the versions at appropriate steps.
Hey there! Tutorials become old and so has this one. Minimum required node is now 18. Check bugsounets wiki for more information. I'll make a new tutorial as soon as our other planned episodes are out. Good luck :)
Ok got Javis working however some questions Javis says that I have to change my personal setting in Google Home. I am unable to change the personal settings for Javis. Did you have some problems question and how do I get Javis to respond to some of my questions the way I want javis to respond. I did a routine but Javis does not see the routine. Thanks
Hi Vaughan, Google Assistant SDK does not support Google Routines. Therefore, Jarvis does not work with Routines. You will have to look into alternatives like IFTTT.
Hi sir, Amazing video but this thing is not working in node js version 20 and it is the latest version of node js , now what should i do to over come this.
When are you releasing a new video bro? It would be great if you could make a list or video of your favorite modules (both listed in m-m website and outside of it). On that topic, where did you get the animation for project Elizabeth? I know you can customize it, but I haven't found anything cool. By the way thanks for all your help, my Magic mirror is working with google assistant now!
Something close to the list you're looking for is in the description of Episode 2! 😄 The animations are custom made by yours truly. My suggestion is try making your own so your mirror can stand out 👍🏼
Hello bro. Please provide a tutorial on how to use a PIR sensor to the Magic mirror to allow the monitor to only turn on when motion is detected, I have searched the entire you I could find a proper guide. I’ll really appreciate if you can respond
Hey Treul, there are some PIR modules on MagicMirror website, have you checked them? They should be straight forward. My solution is very different, as seen in Episode 4. I'm using an Arduino Leonardo with PIR sensor acting like a key stroker, connected via USB to the NUC running the mirror. It's very niche and not the strategy most people would go for. Also, I don't use PIR to shut down the screen, it would take too long to start it up and it becomes annoying. Instead I have a screensaver that's mostly dark and I nudge it when motion is detected. All this is explained in the different episodes about Project Elizabeth 👍🏼 Thanks for watching!
