    Btw, you can now use the RPi flasher to enable SSH by design. I believe the keyboard shortcut is CTRL+X or something similar, it will show special menu to configure the RPi OS.

    • @atomic14
      @atomic14  3 года назад +11

      They keep that well hidden! CTRL+SHIFT+X Really handy hint and makes things a lot easier. You can enable SSH, set the pi password, change the hostname and setup the WiFi connection.

    Great video! I saw it a few years ago and it has been itching my brain since. I recently aquired the stuff to start building my own magic mirror in similar design to yours!
    Very fun project so far! But I have run into one major problem, and wounder if you have needed to solve a similar problem.
    The latest version of Chromium Browser and Firefox seem to have changed their architecture and are no longer supported on Raspberry pi zero. Have you run into this problem and did you fix it?
    My thoughts are either to try and install older versions of the browsers, find some replacement browser or just concede and buy a Raspberry pi zero 2.

    maybe you can repurpose the speakers and add a microphone set to make it an assistant (google or alexa)

    • @atomic14
      @atomic14  3 года назад +3

      I was thinking that! The speakers from the iPad are really thin so would fit nicely behind the mirror. Couple that with the camera that recognised who is looking at the mirror and you've got something pretty crazy :)

    • @photocromax
      @photocromax 3 года назад +3

      @@atomic14 a nice extra touch could be a computer vision sign language recognition, it would be a great product for deaf/mute people. Maybe the Pi zero doesn't have enough power, but desoldering headers to a Pi 4 could work. A Jetson nano (and a thicker frame ;) ) could be the "ultima ratio"
