Doggo: why don't hooman call another hooman? 🐶🐶
Love this idea for a game room/mancave. I would probably wall mount and do a smaller screen, but really like this creative idea! If you have in-ceiling speakers easy to cast to a Sonos amp.
I really thought two things would happen.
1. He dropped the T.V. on his foot, and breaking the T.V. and his foot.
2. Seeing the T.V. rolling backwards and going down the stairs. While Jason was holding on to it.
Since neither happened....oh well.
For a hot sec I thought it was gonna yeet itself down the stairs 🤭
We're shit out of luck lol. Nah Good job BMB!
I'm glad that didn't happen. Be smart and stay safe.
Brave man doing that in front of the stairs....
i was expecting a linus and it falling down the stairs
@@SakuraChan00 Same. Although the title would be very different if it had.
“Brave” isn’t the word I was thinking.
Was giving me anxiety
This would be interesting when windows 11 allows android apps to the run the Plex Amp android version for better touch support
That would be perfect in JR'S shop, be great to see a colab between you two.
Worlds biggest remote for his giant video wall?
I was thinking the exact same thing
They did one already. His mustang exhaust install
It’s a jukebox… “on a stick!!!”

What an awesome idea... Thanks for sharing, is there any links for the Touch Screen TV?
Greeting from Brazil! Funny video! On 8:38 i tought that the touch screen could go thru the stairs :p
Thank you for inviting me into your hallway.
"Hold my soup, I need to do something in the jankiest way possible."
Is how I roll 😅
@@Bytemybits Is why I watch.
Waiting for it to flip over and down the stairs, lol!
#MeToo 😂😂
I have collected and converted the 2001 "Rolling Stones 500 Greatest albums of all time" over the last 18 years, tagged so they show up in numerical order. I play the collection in random track order during my wind down period at night (flac). It is a fantastic way for me to get back in touch with music I heard of from my youth but did not expose myself to. Plexamp allows me to stream lossless anywhere, and I have the lifetime plex subscription one-time fee from back in the day...I back up my (growing) collection of 900+ albumz and +25,000 tracks monthly along w the database...I'll never use anything else...
Keep it and put it in your garage! Funny video as always.
Pulling it up right next to the edge of the stairs was a nail biter. Eeeek.
Funny AF watching you figure out how to get that thing mounted by yourself😂😂 When you were lifting it up, in front of the stairs, I so saw it going over and down the steps. Next time, get a six pack and dial a friend😎👍
I too have a blue heeler. :)
dude that could totally work for a mancave setup and crap ton of 70,80,90s music...that would include lots of rock,too...LOL!!
I wonder how running Plexamp on a Chromecast with Google TV would work.
Next project, minus the heavy TV.
Ok, I like what you've built here but you are so close to the ideal. take that awesome screen and make it a coffee table. Then add photo screen saver, retro-pi, and plex. That would be epic!
Yea I definitely wouldn't do this unless I could use a scroll
ok now im certain... your totally mad! mad because thats awesome! 😁🍻
i think you need to make this a product to sell! JASON you have made a sellable product! market it!
Strap an Nvidia shield on the back of that with a one tarabit ssd and it's go time for all the music and music video you need for game room or man cave
This was the type of touchscreen used for telestration, usually used in live sports coverage or weather news; and used with Newtek or Vizrt systems.
I'm not far, I'll happily come pick it up to get it out of your way.
"Jukebox on a stick" @ 9:27
I'm dead lmao.
I use an old Asus 10" Android tablet running PlexAmp, RUclips, and Spotify as a media center system transmitting via Bluetooth to a stereo system with some nice speaker in my office. Works perfectly. Although this large monitor was a silly exercise it's still neat in concept. Imagine a smaller version of this mounted near your main entertaining area that was transmitting to a sound system with some good output capabilites.
8:52 definitely thought it was going to roll down the stairs lol
This would be epic with a sound zoned house that is hooked up to home assistant, you could track it with room assistant and switch to whatever speaker zone it’s in. Only issue with that is you’d need some serious audio equipment which most people wouldn’t have.
Rum an android emulator and run the android app version to see if it gets rid of some of the scrolling bugs.
I thought the same thing!
Or buy a cheap 4k android player...
Or just run android...
"...but big" {giggles} cause i'm a adult child
I dropped by to laugh at this… now I want one
You lifting that up in front of the stairs gave me a complex.. lol
at one moment i was afraid you would send it down de stairs ^-^
Do you have a link for that TV stand on wheels. Thanks
You could also use a Chromebox (desktop version of a Chromebook) and that will give you Android apps and be small footprint.
Not practical but I want one now.
Why don't you use a raspberry Pi running Android then you'd have touch and it'd be a lot easier... There are also plenty of Android desktop Os like primos ... I literally have a 7-in tablet on my wall at all times that run home automation and Plex and Plex amp
🤣🤣🤣😂 you had me in stitches watching you lift that telly up. It's just ssooooo us men 😂🤣😂 don't know what women complain about?
Think I could see myself using something like that lol, but smaller no bigger than 32inch
This is so dumb.... I like it!
I was waiting for the dog and cat do the facepalm when lifting that heavy TV near the stairs wondering if it's gonna fall over. 😂 😂
In terms of the touch functionality, did you try switching to tablet mode (you know the windows touch setting)? This may improve it?
Like Practical is a thing for WatchJrgo. I mean that TV setup he has is not Practical but amazing.
AWESOME idea! Adding this to my list of "things to eventually do" Will definitely add a Bose system, and probably use either an Nvidia shield, or Chromebox.
You could try running android on the nuc so the app will be optimized for touchscreen!!
Did BMB just fix PLexAmp with a few suggestions?
Fun for for a media area if you have a wall mount that lets you flip between vertical and horizontal. Movies on landscape and music on vertical.
I think your touch experience was affected by the touch capabilities of your TV/Screen/Thingy. While not at 55 inches, I occasionally run my Plexamp on a 15 inch tablet (Surface Book 2 detached screen portion) and it scrolls smoothly. My laptop also has a touch screen, and though I don't stretch it to max out the screen, I can also scroll smoothly...
What I would like to see in the full screen mode you mentioned, is scaling of some UI elements in proportion to the window size so that things remain as they are. So if I stretch it to Full screen while keeping the same aspect ratio, I'd like the artist art to grow proportionally and the Up next... section to be hidden until I swipe up just like I do on my phone and PC.
in 2021 you still need downloaded music ? i dont see the point with so many streaming services
I agree. But, for the lawlz
Android tv box connected to the display and have it all mounted on the stand at the back of the screen so you only see the power wire coming off the back. Also you had handles on the back of the display and would have had an easier time lifting the display from the back side and then setting it on the stand mounts. While I was watching you I was screaming at the screen to prop the display up against the wall and turn the stand to face the display and lift if from the back. The android TV box would have better touch control integration at android is primarily run on touchscreen devices and would allow you to run plex for android on the huge screen.
Could you list the hardware used in this project in the notes at all?
have you tried to hit F5 or F12 to get into full screen
Methinks Roon on that screen would blow your tiny mind ;)
OK - to be fair, Plexamp does a great job for considerably less cash (Plex Pass lifetime subscription vs Roon lifetime subscription = no contest).
Should try using a Intel Stick. it should have enough power run the plexamp and it connects direly to the HDMI port on the TV and uses power from the USB port on the TV . I use a intel stick to run my bedroom tv to watch Web Content and plex with no dramas
I thought when he picked it up he would accidentally push it what seemed like one inch back and it would fall down the stairs.
I love the honesty of being too lazy haha, just build it where the stuff was delivered to, why not? Looks amazing.
proof of concept trial: ...
have an android OS device connected to the TV and then you can test the mobile app capabilities that you asked for by using the android application on the touch screen.
thoughts?
Ha, This would be great for John Ross. This video was a lot of fun Jason. Keep it up.
Reminds me of the time we hooked Plex up to our 3x4 (all 55") touch screen video wall at work and watched movies on it before Christmas last year. Might try plex amp on the 98" touch later this week when I have time.
Good day
Please assist, I want to know what app/software did you use for your jukebox?
Great work. You should most def try this again but use the "Bluestacks" android emulator. this way plex/plexamp will be the android version that was developed to be touched. I am doing the same project with an old 1080p TV as a "hub" for a smart home. Thinking of installing a USB "toggle" switch to enable/disable touchscreen in case I install the TV into a coffee table.
I've wanted to use a similar concept, but using a raspberry pi with a small touch screen so that it's portable around the house
Plexamp does have full screen mode, at least on MacOS it does.
thanks for the video, did you try changing the window setting to tablet mode?
Or just doing the obvious thing and enabling “auto-hide the taskbar”.
l Wanted to use a 70" the same way to play videos of people dancing from the phone feeds
if you really dont want it i will gladly drive up there and pick it up for free lol
dude .. i am thinking about this for a year now ! mounting it to the wall and use it as remote for music and movies ! .. so people can choose music instead of my phone and being able to monitor server directly on the wall :)
ok now plug the jackery or something and make it fully portable
Tilt the stand down, screw it in.
NEVER EVER EVER use a cordless impact driver. Use a manual screwdriver. Start by screwing the screws in with your fingers so you feel the threads go in smoothly. Then screw all this in with your hands and don't overtighten as that would be pointless anyway.
The ONLY reason to use an impact driver would be to push lugs into the wall and its studs so the rackmount will hold everything in place and not fall off.
Hope my advice helps for next videos.
I'd love to see more on the music side of PLEX, as I moved everything from google to my plex servers because RUclips Music sucks
8:40 This is what a hernia looks like kids.
😂🤣
"I know what your thinking, this is dumb. This is what I do."
This entire video was like watching myself in the mirror.
My Daughter, "Why?!"
Me, "Because I think I can."
Additional thought - What about running it in Kiosk mode only running Plexamp?
We're did you get the 55 inch touch screen and how much was it don't think I want it that big but a 27 or 32 inch would be 😎
Haha that would be me but after accidentally yeeting it down the stairs hear my wife from across the house yell what the hell was that 😂😂
An idea for a Portrait TV on a cart - StepMania!
For scrolling in Windows just use 2 fingers ^^ default scrolling with touchscreen :D
What and where did you get the 55" touchscreen TV?
Where did you buy the tv stand from? Link please
Hay Jason multi room audio support would be nice ( To support sonos / denon heos / yamaha musiccast )
Jason, if you ever find the digital jukebox, please do a video. I have been looking for years to find one that works for me.
This guy is totally my new man crush…
So many things this could do... Try it with Chrome OS built with touchscreens in mind and literally any Chrome OS app. Try an Android emulator and play games on it like fruit ninja with 55" screen. Strap some led-laden Bluetooth speaker bars and some led strips to it and you have a mobile music box like you thought would be cool. You know how people put monitors behind mirrors and use them to tell time, weather, calendar, and such and they never look all that good? How about putting cameras to the sides of the monitor and use morphing software to make the same thing just 100x better. Attach some brackets and use it as a standing desktop. Don't wanna hang a TV in every room, put a TV on wheels and you have a TV on every single wall you have an outlet. Add an Echo Dot or some other voice assistant to it and have it do cool things remotely. Use it for video conferences. Use it in the background of your videos playing-related content rather than just doing it in post editing all the time?
TouchJams is what I use
i would love to have it,
windows 10 kiosk mode. It would set it to full screen at login.
Didnt know I needed this actually
Should have called a mate to come over and help you lift the tv
use an cheap android box and the phone version of plexamp installed. then the touchscreen should work as expected (mostly)
Just hook it up to an Apple TV and add a few apps like Spotify , Plex etc…
Awesome!
Love the cat :D :D
This is perfect for day centres/residential homes for people with disabilities. I would probably try Plex for Windos but otherwis, very cool idea. Order, how about using Plexamp on an android box? Yeah, that might do it.
Not a project for me, but you get thumbsup becasue you hit your head on that nasty corner and just kept going, kudos!
Anyone know what kind of stand he used? It's got a great spot where you can weld a little shelf to put everything while hiding.
Shout out to @WatchJRGo!
what if you installed android on the nuc and used the app? that's made for touch screen (even tho it's still a bit junk).
There’s many uses you COULD have for that. You can use one of your portable batteries to power it and since it’s on wheels… easy! Being that it appeared to be running windows… you can cast to other devices… Bluetooth is definitely an easy option… so an adapter hooked to a stereo system would do the trick! I’m interested to know what that screen actually costs… maybe not what you paid, but what is retail? At first I thought it was just a regular screen and you could lift it so I chuckled… but then I checked the caption again and realized why that made sense to be that heavy
This probably could work fine with a smaller screen. The ones at the bar can't be more than 30 inches. I used to do the my own music thing. Though streaming is so easy to just play music on.
