Century Child
Century Child es un álbum del grupo de metal finlandés Nightwish. Es su cuarto álbum, publicado en el año 2002, es el primer álbum con el bajista Marco Hietala, anteriormente miembro del grupo Sinergy, quien también hace voces, reemplazando a Sami Vänskä. Century Child incluye canciones que tocan una gran variedad de temas y pensamientos en sus letras, desde la furia (en Slaying the dreamer) hasta el más completo romanticismo (en Forever yours).
El disco también tiene la particularidad de incluir una versión de "El Fantasma de la Ópera" (The Phantom of the Opera), originalmente escrita por Andrew Lloyd Webber para Sarah Brightman y Michael Crawford. Esta obra también fue versionada por bandas del mundo del Gothic metal como Dreams of Sanity, Lacrimosa y Anabantha (siendo la versión de este último en español).
El álbum fue doble platino en Finlandia con más de 60.000 copias vendidas, el segundo álbum más vendido en Finlandia en el año 2002. Hoy en día, Century Child ha vendido más de 90.000 copias sólo en Finlandia.1 A nivel mundial vendió más de 350.000 ejemplares entre 2002 y 2003.

I was very near the front for these, waiting for Iron Maiden, and they absolutely blew me away, biggest surprise of the whole festival, they were absolutely brilliant! Can't wait for them at Bloodstock this year!

@Sorin Soim Jukka had a different drum kit and that's why it sounds so different to Kai and that's why people don't like Kai as much as Jukka. Yes, Jukka is a beast and he's so energetic on stage, but Kai worked his ass off to get in his foot steps. I love them both
@Sorin Soim Jukka is very good, plays with with effects. Kai is hilarious. He doesnt even need base drums.^^ Just watch Devil and the deep dark ocean.

Jukka will always be in my heart as the drummer of nightwish, but Kai is a good god dam drummer, lots of power and energy.
Floor has all the good things Tarja had + all the good things Anette had. She's like a combination of both, so that makes her the perfect NW vocalist, and the one, I think, Tuomas was waiting for, because she can sing both his more contemporary and his more operatic songs, she can be strong and sweet at the same time. It's so great to hear Tuams talking of their show!
She has nothing of Tarja who have soprano voice.This sound more of a pop voice.
I love Floor. She's definitely the most skilled and versatile of the three, but this song is forever Tarja's. I thought Ghost Love Score would be too, but Floor does an absolutely amazing version of that. There's just something missing, for me, from Floor's interpretation of this song.

And it's not pop, that guitar doesn't sound like pop to me at least.

No fastidien tanto, Floor ha utilizado al máximo las cuerdas vocales durante casi 4 años completos seguidos Tuomas mismo dijo que necesitaban todos un receso indefinido, si quieren una interpretación majestuosa de esta canción vean el wacken 2013 con Floor.

Kai Hahto plays this so much cleaner than Jukka ever did - those three-16th note gallops are perfect - Jukka played these a lot sloppier live - also the double bass is crazy even and precise, also Kai's fills near the end are crazy clean.

@@powskier Considering that Jukka has officially retired as Nightwish's drummer, I would be very surprised if that would happen. Jukka's feeling much better these days, but has decided to stick with handling the business side of Nightwish.

I like the way she sings the chorus now better. Some live songs evolve. For example, Storytime at first was much closer to Nettie's version, then she added classical style and made slight changes in the chorus delivery. This one was sung slightly different and now the chorus is closer to the original.

han pasado 11 años y aun hay personas qe le dan con tarja, en una entrevista dijieron qe no les gustaria volver a estar con tarja devido a los problemas que habian en la banda, nightwish esta bien como esta y tarja esta bien como solista, yo quede conforme con los 5 albumes qe sacaron con tarja, luego con anette dark passion play e imaginaerum qe tenian un instrumental bastante genial y ahora endless forms most beautiful qe me ha parecido un buen album al nivel de lo qe es nightwish pero lo qe lamento esqe no sacaron el mayor provecho de floor para dejar con la boca abierta a todos, fue el primer album con floor, un album como de prueba para saber en qe trabajar mas adelante con floor, estoy seguro qe el proximo album sera realmente facinante y como dije nightwish esta bien como esta y tarja esta bien como solista, cambio y fuera.

Floor is real NIGHTWISH..... she just happened a bit later! The band is complete and sounds how it was suposed to sound from the very first song. Most of big bands had to change a few lead vocals till they got the best! So Tarja and Anette represents just the road to perfection. Perfection achieved by FLOOR!
