It was a privilege to witness it all. It almost made me forget the heat (until we all clapped and were showered with sweaty beads 😅)
Realizing how hard Floor fought for her recognition in her homeland and how hard she also fought to bring metal and Nightwish to a wider main stream audience this is nothing less than a pure triomph! I hope that other big festivals like Rock Werchter, Sziget and Glastonbury see this and program Nightwish on a main stage. This band is just in a league of it's own.
Shame she'll never be as iconic as Tarja
And this one a bloody pop-festival. Perfect introduction to a lot of people who otherwise wouldnt have had heard anything resembling metal.

Nightwish was already pretty well known before Floor, man. I'm 30. There was a kid at my school who was a hardcore Nightwish fan all the way back in 5th grade & would talk about it to anyone who would listen for the entire rest of my school years. And most people from that generation in the US have, at least, heard a Nightwish song, even if they don't know who they are.
The world is a better place with Nightwish and Floor Jansen!

I really like Floor´s voice (it has a great combination of power and softness and smoothness) and also her performance, she really owns the stage!

Her first album with the band raised the bar for the entire Symphonic Metal genre. I know the rest of the band played a part, especially Tuomas, but not just any lead singer could have pulled that off.
@@aspectra I would completely disagree with you. It was Theli by Therion that raised the bar for the entire Symphonic Metal genre. Therion are the kings of Symphonic Metal, not Nightwish or Nightfish.

Most singers can. There’s more music outside the charts than inside.
pretty much the only genre that's not tainted by the scourge of autotune is metal. . .cue someone showing me a metal band that uses it. . .but then again, imo if a band uses autotune, then it's not metal. doesn't matter how "extreme" their sound is. . .

I know some will argue Tarja is the original true Nightwish, but things (and bands) evolve, and currently Nightwish I say is at their best yet
Nightwish will always be bigger than any one band member except for Tuomas perhaps. They have a history with much pain and beauty which is an important part of their story and evolution. I’m eternally grateful for everyone that has been a part of this amazing band.
NIGHTWISH just gets better and better. i am 68 and have been to concerts for the best rock in the world 60s 70s 80s 90s 2k and today and even seen ELVIS 3 times. these guys and gal are fantastic
But the best was with Tarja
Her voice is really magnificant..in opera, in hardrock..always!

On my fifth listen…the bass is magnificent…the joy this group brings to the people is a gift.

I've been following Floor since she was the lead singer of the Dutch band "After Forever", such amazing voice....finally found her place amognst the stars...worth every second and drink

This was phenominal! People in the crowd were overheated but still (finally) appreciated Nightwish. Don't forget that in the Netherlands metal music is not as popular as in the Nordic countries. They made a huge impression! Nightwish is now a great band in The Netherlands. Thank you Floor! ❤
I still find it funny that I commented to a bunch of Dutch people that that only famous Dutch people I knew were Sharon Den Adel & Charlotte Wessels & had, like, three different people ask me who the hell they were. Lol

That run into the final chorus of "Storytime", the way she completely changed vocal delivery in the same breath... remarkable as ever. Also, how good is it to see so many young kids getting into it?
At 8:24 you can tell this kid has never been to a Nightwish concert before and he's visibly perplexed.. 😎 That's what I make of the expression in his face anyway.. 🙂
Disagree that Tuomas is a genius, Floor was really good with After Forever and Revamp, Nightwish has showcased her unbelievable talent, Toumas, Marco, Empuu, Jukka, Kai, Troy take a bow you're part of her success

i always have a smile on my face when i watch modern Nightwish! i love Floor's Voice and energy! i have long hair and i helicopter along with her haha mad respect to the whole band!
I feel a little nostalgic about the new band’s spatial arrangement on the stage… but also I’m extremely grateful that nowadays they keep giving such amazing shows and live experiences. This new arrangement also gives me hope of what Nightwish will bring in the future after all the stories, dreams and madness they have given to us. 🥹♥️ Love this band so much!

The Great thing about this show is that the music is less compressed, makes it more dynamic! Floor and Nightwish are doing great!

I'm thinking Floor, and Nightwish, may have forever changed the metal scene in the Netherlands. As miserable heat-wise as it seems to have been, they still put on a powerhouse of show!
This band kicks so much ass! I love that the bassist still looks like he could take a nap RIGHT NOW (bassists are either the calmest, lowest-energy of the band or absolute showboats) and Floor is so unapologetically a badass! That vocal range/control in the heat and at that energy level in a damn corset? And her shoulders/arms look like she is the concert security. I love love it! Love showing my kids these shows :D

Floor, that was a wonderful performance that I have watched many many times.
What tops it all, the powerful clear tones, the vocal range, the professionalism of all the band members, the wonderful harmonies, it's the sparkle in your eyes. You love what you do, there doesn't seem to be a more beautiful place you want to be at this moment (a small place in Sweden might).

This band live sounds just as good as studio theres a lot of bands out there that sound way different live than they do on an album. Hats off to your sound crew and of course every member of your band just amazing.
I don't know of any other band that is like this. Whenever I want to listen to Nightwish, I look for live performances - they are just that good!

@@Storm-cc3id Ты не указываешь мне, что делать, брат. Если вы думаете, что Тарья лучше, это нормально, но я думаю, что Флор (намного) лучше. А Тарья ушла 19 лет назад, а Флор был с NW дольше, чем Тарья. Nightwish также во многом обязаны своим нынешним успехом Флору, который, например, сделал Ghost Love Score самой комментируемой музыкальной песней на RUclips. 2/3 нынешних фанатов приходятся на Флор.

Floor, I just recently stumbled on to Nightwish (yeah, I live in a cave)...but I have to say, you have the most beautiful, powerful voice I have heard!!!! Raises the hair on my arms every time I hear you sing....and that includes the covers you sang on your Podcast.....:) Simply amazing!!!!!

Saw this show on livestream last year and love revisiting it through these two highlights. Floor and the boys were in fine form that day. Love 'em!!
I was in Wacken 2013 and this band is like fine vine or whiskey, gets better over the years. But Wacken is still the greatest live show ever becouse the atmosphere and 80 000+ crowd. It eas insane.
Part of the reason in my opinion is always the bonus of nighttime shows.
Indeed, and: this show was a direct, "real time", live on Dutch TV. That is to say: recorded with professional gear (that captures everything, including small mistakes) but NO post processing. This is a real live record of what Nightwish and Floor and what they can do on a hot afternoon, at the end of a long series of performances around the world, and it is amazing!
