My favorite song to sing live is Ghost Love Score! On my first tour with Nightwish I started to sing the ending differently, to add something to it. Then there was a concert DVD [2013’s Showtime, Storytime] showing this, and everyone wanted to keep hearing the new ending. It suddenly became a ‘thing’ - there was expectation, so it became special for me. Thank you everyone!
Thank you! for taking an already perfect song and taking it to a new dimension. -and you do that with most, if not all of your performances. There are 7+ billion people in the world. Most of us would be happy to be the right piece that completes a puzzle. It's awe inspiring to see that it's possible to not just be a piece that can finish the puzzle, but you can also add a glossy finish & a sculpted frame to it. Echt Floor, ik vind dit zo´n uitzonderlijk goede uitvoering. Zelfs na tig keer geluisterd te hebben blijft het kippenvel komen. En zeker het einde,. Magistraal.
This performance was my introduction to Nightwish, and every time I revisit it's so energizing and inspiring to hear and see. Thank you for sharing your art with us!
I've only just found this band and music. Absolutely love it. Floor is so good. Yes, I noticed that there are several different drummers throughout the videos. This one really gets into it. Drummers are the timekeepers of music of course and drums seem to make this kind of music.
Opposite, yet similar for me. I was way into them when I was about 12-13 then somehow lost interest. I'm 27 now and just recently rediscovered them and was instantly captivated by their new singer. I'm seriously kicking myself for sleeping on them for over a decade.
I am 68 years old. I have always loved heavier rock. One of my sons alerted me to Nightwish and sent me through this video. What can I say - Absolutely stunning, the music is wonderful, but those vocals are sensational. Floor is magnificent. To those of you that say you can't stop watching it - I get it - I can't either.
@@MarkusofAtlantis - i'm 59 - same here - - just discovered them and Floor about a month or so ago - this was the first song i heard from Nightwish - and i have listened to Floor sing this song several dozens of times now.... i'm hooked...
Many people are saying that, but could you describe to a noob ear, what that means? This performance is amazing, but I have no skills to say how something is great other to say that it is great.
@@Tuikkari a mix of two things - sound: he has just the perfect sound for Nightwish's music. deep, resounding, a heartbeat's vibe that keeps everything together - playstyle: simple, direct, once again perfectly fitting the music. There's so much going on through the song that technical fills would just compete for attention, so he goes for a seamless groove. He's there laying the foundations, until the song needs him to amp up the intensity, and then he makes his presence felt. A great example of talent at the service of the whole group
I'm sorry but this is world historical music. This is insane. True and pure talent. That's more than I can EVER even try. Yet we have the likes of all these pop singers making billions. This music is far beyond that.
I feel the same. This must have felt like hearing Mozart play live, or watching Michelangelo chisel his Pieta. Truly don't think I'm exaggerating. So sad that I stopped going to Wacken two years before that, and missed the chance to experience this with my own full body. ...and I went 15 consecutive years until 2011. Saw and heard them all, I thought the In Flames shows were always the greatest, until I saw this. It's lightyears ahead of anything else.
easy to digest is the TZerm. Thats nothing Metal will ever be. SO, Taylor Swift, as talented as She is, will always get the Money with 10 Words, and 4/4 Chorus/Verse/Chorus/Bridge/Chorus, 3 Minutes -End. Pppl dont want to invest in Music, they want to digest, easy and fast. Thats Pop, and it got its very mercantile Place in our western Culture. Symph Metal, Classical Music, and many other Niche-Variations(in term of Listeners/Money grossing) mostly got in Common, that they are not resolving by the first Listening. So, no Airtime, mostly play on special Stations. Thats modern fast Life, and i doubt we can change this. But we can cherish the Pearls like Nightwish for ourselfs in our Communities, for me thats enough:)
Nightwish sadly here in the USA is just about unheard of, I took my car in for an oil change at the dealership yesterday, the girl who bought the car around for me said she was enjoying "Ever Dream" , said she had never heard of the band......just sad. Hopefully I opened her eyes and ears.
He's really good, but there are a lot of even better drummers out there. I think Kai is a little over-qualified for Nightwish, compared to what he did for Wintersun.
@UCsYxSy6Ff1crFUZk7TJqw2w You should listen to older Nightwish songs and you would realize how talented their guitarist is even though he nowadays plays more simple songs and doesn't show off like he used to 15 years ago. And their "current" lead guitarist is the only on with Tuomas who has been in the band since the beginning
@@nafisahmohamed4772 Chill your nuggets, that's not a duo with some hired staff here. Jukka went on break years ago, because he suffered from severe insomnia. He is btw. also responsible for management and other background stuff, wich he kept doing during his break. And to stay with the background work and retiring from performing was his own decision after his health improved so much off-stage. His fill-in is now an official band member. As for the singer: Tarja is a solo artist. She always was and you could tell that from the very beginning when you went to concerts. It was like 'Nightwish & Tarja'. They didn't even practice together. It was the success that made them stay together. And when they finally separated, the guys wanted Floor to beginn with. But meh. She was pregnant and wanted to stay out of music business to take care of family matters. And when Anette left (Well, with her everyone was a bitch, including herself) they asked Floor again and here we are now.
It´s so awesome though how Floor shows her appreciation to him with a small gesture at the end of the song, after her own out of this world performance
Welcome to Nightwish. It's always a beautiful experience. The Poet and the Pendulum is another in case you're looking for more. That song has never once failed to bring me to tears.
The best thing I like about Floor, aside from her killer voice and Goddess looks, is that she seems to be genuinely happy to be there with Nightwish. She can't stop smiling. That's amazing.
She's an amazing human being in more ways than one. @ 9:21 each time I hear that part It gets a tear to my eye - that my friend is sheer talent, because I'm not one to be easily impressed by most things in life.
Agreed, she lights up the stage. I'm not much of a festivalgoer, but Nightwish with Floor is one of the few bands I badly want to see live, because of her stage presence.
Floor is up there with Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, and Ronnie James Dio as one of the greatest singers to ever front a metal band. Powerful voice, powerful stage presence, and a love of metal that shines through in performance. Floor brings it all. \m/
I absolutely love how Floor smiles when she is singing. She looks so happy and at times so vulnerable as well. It's such a pure smile. She looks like she is genuinely happy and exactly where she needs to be.
She's sweet and warm and she has such a positive vibe... Powerfull and yet gracefull. In command without being beatchy. Her singing.... well, not enough words to describe it. God, what an appearance! The true Queen of metal!
she is a very sensitive and empathic person ... very low narcissism I think . One reason why the band works well, I think she moderates the guys quite well
Nightwish helped her recover from her burnout. I dont know what happened, but I assume it has something to do with After Forever and ReVamp falling apart. Nightwish restored her confidence.
Tuomas: His Best Composition Floor: Her Best performance Nightwish: Their best mood and capability ever Conclusion: One of the best performances in metal music history
@@redocykuron The highlight of this performance is Floor's incredible singing at the end of the song and especially that last note, which is called "Floorgasm" by the fans. This part wasn't even a part of the performance in the end of an era and Tarja leaves the stage before the song ends. How can it be a better performance?
This was the last video I watched before having a very risky open heart surgery. I was so scared! If it was my last day, I wanted to go out with pure pleasure. NOW I'M HOME AND WATCHING AGAIN!!!
Huge props to Jukka on the drums. He knows how to play perfectly to the song and style. The rhythm is always on point and he doesn't overplay like many other metal drummers have a habit of doing.
Genuinely, one of the greatest jubilations of music and life put on stage. I cannot imagine how it must've felt to perform that, let alone experience it live.
randomly came back to this video after ... no idea how long... came here to post this same thing. actually gives me goosebumps at a few points in the song, in the actual sense, not just the figure of speech. shits electric, man. she really nailed it. I think she even knows she did right there at the end
It's been 10 years and each and every time I'm listening to this live I can't stop but smile from beginning to the end. This song is incredible and this live is diamond, a huge thanks Nightwish
Something about Floor that is very underrated is, her elegance when she moves to the music. Her head banging, and other movements are simple, yet very prominent. I find myself watching the video simply because of her on stage presence.
Underrated? 99,99% of comments I read on these are about Floor, floorgasms, windmills and her absolutely stunning stage presence. This is probably the most reacted live performance alongside Queen Live Aid performance. I'd say she is hyped, and that is 100% deserved. #floorgasm
She makes me think of Yngvwie J Malmstein. When he hit the scene he was sooo far beyond everything else. Her voice is just like that. Reminds me of Homers' Odyssey ,and a ships captain tied to a mast, what he might have heard.
OH, My God!!!!!!!!! I am 60. I have jammed too many Metal Bands over the years. (Live in the Midwest USA). I have about 70 favorite RUclips Videos from various metal bands I listen to. Since I have found Nightwish, I can say I haven't listened to any other bands on my favorite list in months and I have one CD in the 4runner. This concert is on CD. There is nothing better than the performance, energy, musical rhythm, Floor's unreal stage presence and control of the crowd, and overwhelmed voice presence. It's unreal. Magical sound from the whole band. Even though the band has changed a bit since this show, it's still topped!!!!!! I bow my head to all of you!
As a guitar player myself, I really respect their guitarist that don't go over the top and not trying to show off with some fast shredding and riffs. Guitarists have big ego. But he's not. He knows his place as musician, and as a result, he makes beautiful music. If that makes sense.
In other words, he is playing for the song, not for himself. The entire song is an epic arrangement, and an over-the-top guitar solo might overwhelm or overpower in the wrong way. This solo was quite laid back, but sounds 100% intentionally crafted to match the mood and atmosphere of the whole song as one entity.
Nightwish is far more a family than a band. Sometimes Floor is called "the front woman" but she refers to the other band members as "my brothers" . Say no more...
Dude. The voice on this woman is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard in my life, and I'm not even exaggerating. How you gonna sound better live than on a studio album? Incredible.
@@-...Mr_X...- I love Tarja, she has an amazing voice, but live she can't come anywhere near the force that is Floor. Floor's stage presence and charisma is untouched and sets her miles above any other right now, and that isn't saying anything about her voice. People keep calling Floor a siren but I think that sells her short, she is a metal valkyrie here gracing us with her gifts.
@@Daishar I 100% agree with you, it's everything about her, then this voice comes out. Sends chills and that doesn't happen to me often at all, literally every time I hear this song I get chills, most the time I get chills from other singers, it only happens initially, and with her it happens every time I hear this song lol
2024... Nothing can beat this show. It's truly incredible how much energy and power she can give... and the musicians are so good too! Definitly the best!
Floor's version of this song had me in tears the first time I heard it. Yes, Tarja could cause goosebumps, but there is something about Floor's voice, stage presence, and passion that absolutely blew me away. She's a goddess with golden vocal cords! Beautiful!
I actually like the original version and Tarja's voice better for this song. There's one exception though 9:22 .. Can't say anything to that. Floor brings me to tears there almost every time
Talking with a colleague at work today about music and he asks if I had ever heard of Nightwish. Unfortunately, I said, "no" (my bad). He played me part of "Ghost Love Score" live, as he knows I'm a lover of synths and keyboards, considering I own a few. Anyways, I've just watched this in full on my Meta 3 headset and now I’m becoming a nightwish fan, after this one song. I will say one thing though and it rarely happens to me, Floor's voice on this track gave me massive goosbumps (if you know the term). Her operatic voice is so pure and powerful. I'm just sorry it's taken me 11 years to see this footage but I thank my colleague for introducing me to Nightwish :)
Oh. My. God. Only just discovered this. That mix of theatric, operatic, symphonic and metal!! Perfectly crafted. And that voice! Verges on unearthly. Blown away.
Can we give a shout out to the sound guys at this performance? Also Floor's crescendo is just incredible. She's one of the best vocalists this world has ever and will ever know
I think what makes this song so tear inducing is the fact that you can clearly tell she isn't just singing a song, she is really _feeling it._ Like, it's easy to sing lyrics, but to understand and to really feel the music and what the song is about, that is rare. Most music on the radio is supposed to sound emotional, but you can clearly tell the singer just wants to sing the song as technically sound as possible. In this, it feels as if she doesn't even care about the singing aspect. She has something to express and she does it. That's what makes this so incredible.
Floor Jansen is the female equivalent of Freddie Mercury. I say this as a life long Queen fan. I’m almost 60 now, I never thought I’d ever, in my lifetime, find another artist who had the talent, the stage presence and commanded the audience like Freddie. Floor is absolutely compelling, spellbinding, you can’t take your eyes of her. Once you have seen her and heard that voice, there’s no going back. This band as a whole is EVERYTHING! 💙
Brm Mrb Yes. I also miss Freddie.💜 Irreplaceable.💜 But. Nightwish are doing a damn fine job filling the huge empty space that was left when Freddie was taken from us.💜
This is the place where I would have described how I think this comes to be, but whilst writing it, I realized I failed at describing her voice in a way satisfactory to my standards.
Crazy Chaos I would have given the world to hear Freddie and Floor sing together. Imagine the power in that, especially live!💪🏽🤘🏽I think my heart would fail me!💜
Id share the throne with vg/movie composers. These lads in particular are the true heirs of classical composer, even those who dont use a classical orchestra only
There's 2 important people at the end of the song. Floor, and Jukka. And I love how Floor acknowledges Jukka at the end, because her crescendo doesn't mean much without his. Simply awesome.
What an incredible performance by our amazing Floor Jansen and the whole Nightwish band. For this to be her first introduction to this crowd of 82,000 screaming people was so wonderful. Legendary.
I was part of the 106000 Donington Park '92 when it was simply Monsters of Rock, Iron Maiden headlined, n sadly 2 lost their lives that day, a sheer tragedy, n a sobering thought when I read it in the newspaper 😢
Here I am ... 79 years old and just found this two days ago. I can die now, having heard the best music in the world. I am so unhappy that I could have seen them less than 30 miles away 3 years ago and I was unaware
"The BEST MUSIC IN THE WORLD . . . " TRUE WORDS from a good old heart ! ! ! I wish you 25 more years and a very good place in HEAVEN beside the angels !
You can really see her core/abs flexing. She is not lazy on her breath control, that's for sure. Absolutely talented, How have I gone this far in life with out this discovering this band. Total master piece, flipping blown away here
I agree Jeff! I had been watching a lot of European Metal Band reactions and this song was one of the reactions. Hooked from the first few seconds. They are amazing instrumentally, she is absolutely a force to be reckoned with with her vocals!!
The way Floor moves on that stage is THE most sensual thing I have ever seen. And it amazes me how much it adds to the already perfect Nightwish music! She is a treasure in a chest of wonders 😍
The funny thing is she is super sexy but doesn’t try. Just her little subtle moves on stage. The way she walks and moves so fluidly around the stage. Not like these little nit wit pop singers who have to dress nasty and grind their body parts because their “music” is hollow.
Jukka Nevalainen is probably one of metal's most underrated drummers. His work here is hands down one of his finest. Kai is a great, GREAT drummer, no doubt, but I miss Jukka.
I miss Jukka too. Kai is incredible, but Jukka had that special touch in his drums, specially in this song. You can clearly tell the difference between both of them.
To me, it's like the difference between Portnoy and Mangini in Dream Theater: both fantastic drummers, but one has a distinct style and personality that's hard to not feel is missing after he's gone.
Not only do I miss jukka, but also tarja. Now, don't get me wrong, I love floor and the work She's been doing with nightwish so far, but tarja will always have a special place in my heart.
It's the crowd reaction to that note that gets me every time. What a fucking sensational performance. It will be a dark, dark day if she ever leaves for any reason.
I keep coming back to this video....over...and over...and over.....for years now. It's absolutely incredible. What Jukka does. What Floor does. I have never experienced this. I NEVER get tired of it.
in my humble opinion, this is their best live performance, ever … the Queen of Valkyries … and not to forget the absolutely amazing talent on that stage beyond Floor … from the song writing to the total, performance including the amazing drummer … all in all an 10/10 plus
floor in her prime was one of the best mainstream musical artists to ever do it, shes was almost a 4 octave in classical terms, mariah carey is the only other mainstream artist whos better imo she was an actual 4 octave in her prime.
Their best live performance ever, yes. The best live performance ever? It's impossible to pick, there are so many incredible performances and concerts to choose from, all magnificent in their own way.
@@steveabrams777 Yeah sorry to be picky lol. But I'd just been on a series of concerts from pretty much every decade and on every single one 'NO ONE MAKES MUSIC LIKE THIS ANYMORE!'
I have to be careful when I go to watch it, I literally watch it like 3 or 4 times, then watch other people watch it. It occupies hours of my time for sleep xD
I'm not even that big of a Nightwish fan, but this may be the best live vocal performance that I've ever heard. High, low, clean, gritty, Floor can sing it all
@@sensenak1670 Annette is my honest favorite. I discovered Nightwish while she was still with them so she is the singer that pops in my head when I hear the name Nightwish but yeah. That's just me.
I don't even particularly like this kind of music, but this is extraordinary beautiful. How this woman sings is beyond excellent. Whole show is great, I watched whole Wacken 2013 show in one breath. But this is something else. As a musician for 30 years, I'm not easily impressed. But this, this makes one humble. Floor Jansen is divine.
Perfectly said. One doesn't find voices like hers that easily. Just in this song alone she does operatic, soft, kinda-raspy-rock, she goes from chest to head and every other technique with ease and perfection. And she throws that amazing belt in the end to finish us. Live no less. Extremely skillful and talented, just mesmerizing.
@@wussboyd1 I think you may have misinterpreted the intent of the sentence, Wuss. I've been a musician (of sorts :)) for thirty odd years too and I'm not easily impressed either - that's not because I think I am so great but because, having moved in the circles of musicians for so long, I have seen and heard an awful lot of performers and that gives a good yardstick against which to measure a talent.
@@wussboyd1 1) Either you suck at comprehending what you read wussboyd1, or 2) you are simply trolling this guy because you're stuck living in your moms basement at the ripe age of 40. Oh or 3, both
Because it is written like a movie soundtrack is why I am less fond of GLS compared to Poet and the Pendulum and Beauty of the Beast. Tuomas listen to too much movie music by Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer. But, hey, I will always have Trent Reznor/Nine Inch Nails, Muse, Avenged Sevenfold, System of a Down and Linkin Park apart from Nightwish first era.
Honestly, I loved Tarja and I thought her replacement with Annette was a really poor decision. I still can't bear to listen to Annette-era Nightwish and ESPECIALLY not Tarja-era Nightwish sung BY Annette - ugh. But Floor, wow. I never expected Nightwish to capture my heart again like it used to, but Floor has put the heart and soul back into the band and I love the new stuff with her but even more, I love the old stuff with her too. Tarja is amazing, and I still prefer her voice in certain songs but this is my all time favourite Nightwish song and probably Top 5 favourites ever and still absolutely CRUSHES it. .I'm not certain if I prefer Floor in this song, but it's definitely equal and I think Floor is overall a better vocalist than Tarja although Tarja still has a hauntingly beautiful operatic voice.
RwNZ1337 you're right, there are Tarja songs that are unmatched by her voice, the first song I heard from Nightwish was "Deep silent complete" and that caught me, each vocalist captures the essence of a song.
You don't look a day older than 76 ! so well done , all that drinking Green Tea for 59 years has done the trick , now you can enjoy the joys of Nightwish
This's got to be the best live performance of the greatest song of all times and worlds and universes.... I listened for a thousand times and still am left with goosebumps and completely speechless, sometimes in tears
this is like one of the best live performances i've ever heard. It genuinely sounds like it could be a studio recorded version were it not for the crowd cheering
I just saw this live at Kitee a couple of days ago. She is 7 months pregnant and she totally nailed (floored) this again. Ten years after this Wacken concert. Nightwish forever ❤❤❤❤
I just saw them closing the show at Nova Rock 2 weeks ago and I was like "heck, that baby began it's life on tour, if it were born on stage that would certainly make rock history!
This must be one the greatest live performances ever by humans doing ANYTHING AT ALL. I can’t stress enough how difficult it is to sound like that live. Incredible
This is incredible, if this doesn't give you goosebumps, especially the last 2 minutes, check your pulse, you're possibly dead. Great lyrics, great music/musicianship topped off with an exceptional voice, it doesn't get any better.
Andy T I say that about people that don’t feel Jeff Buckley. This does nothing for me and I assure you I’m quite alive with a fast pulse. I respect it though. Just don’t feel it.
Maria Muse you're absolutely right, music is all about taste, thankfully not everyone has the same taste. There's so much nastiness in some comments you read, I was happy to be disagreed with in such a polite way
Andy T Aww, my pleasure. Agreed. Music is quite visceral. I can acknowledge a piece of music for its worth while not actually connecting with it personally. It’s inexplicable.
Knew about Nightwish for years, by reputation, never took the time to listen to their song though. 2 weeks ago or so, I decided to listen to Tarja's version of Ghost Love Core, and I fell in love with it. The music was incredible and Tarja's voice touched my soul. And I told myself, this can never bested. Then, after listening to it again and again (and again), I told myself it was worth trying Floor's version.Oh boy was I not ready. This is one of the best performance I have ever seen. Her presence, her power, the versatility and the high skill of her vocal techniques, the different colors of her voice, the perfect control she has on it, and so on. She made the song, and my heart, her own. I have no word to explain my gratitude for the joy you brought to my soul, this is exactly why I love and listen to music, to find this kind of treasure. And finally, I wanted to thank also the rest of the band, and particularly the genius Tuomas Holopainen, for bringing to us all this incredible songs.
Now in October 2019, still one of the most epic song I've ever heard in my life and one of the greatest live performance I've ever seen. That last note still gives me chills after, idk, like hundred times I've heard this already.
Same here! Every hair of my body react someway XD You should listen her version of Phantom of the Opera made in a tv show called Beste Zangers, this year with a very famous opera singer from the Netherlands. It's the most amazing thing that happened this year.
@@alcx112 yeah I watched the whole season of beste zangers here because of Floor. She's amazing there, and the others also incredible. Glad to hear more people know about Nightwish and symphonic metal, a genre that not really common but actually very beautiful

Often in life, you hear a song that you like....but sometimes you get the privilege of hearing something rare....something that taps into your emotions, gives you goose bumps....and I mean this literally...not in the way that this word is overused......a song that amazes you. I had never heard nightwish before....this song amazed me. The musicianship.....across the board...and the vocals...this is the best thing I have ever heard. You only get that "first time I heard it" experience once.....I am appreciative I experienced this talent.....I'm addicted to it...addicted to sharing it with others, so hopefully they can have that wow moment . This is 100% the best thing I have ever heard! Thank you .....i am in awe.
Two months ago I came upon this video completely by accident. One video, one song has totally changed my view of what genre of music I prefer. Epic song, epic musicians, epic crowd & beyond epic singer. Tuomas is a genius composer. Don't know much about the other two previous singers but Floor Jansen is the total package frontwoman. Never in my many, many years of listening to and obsessing over music have I witnessed a band this gifted individually as well as a group. Just incredible!
Ghost Love Score was the song that made me discover Nightwish, so it holds a special place in my heart. And with Floor, it's like I'm rediscovering it again! Her performance sends shivers down my spine... Especially that part: "Take me, cure me, kill me, bring me home Every way, every day I keep on watching us sleep Relive the old sin of Adam and Eve Of you and me Forgive the adoring beast"
Hussein Caceres I have to disagree with "They are Nightwish again". Nightwish never ceased being Nightwish. It just had a different singer. As long as Tuomas is around, the essence of the band will remain. Now, wether or not you like their singers is up to you, of course.
This performance is so brilliant that it'll probably be remembered across centuries. I really wonder if the audience were aware that they were witnessing one of the most important musical events in the history of modern music...
She is by far my favorite of the Nightwish singers so far! She has all of Tarja's power and range, but more grace and precision. She can be as melodic and sweet as Anette but has substance behind it. She's truly the best of both!
Anyone that's skeptical of or concerned about Floor's abilities should just watch this video (or listen to the live album of this recording). She's amazing.
me too. I´m not a big fan of Nightwish...Tarja was Ok...Anette was....not my kind....the whole style was not mine, but....Floor...omg her voice...it´s asome. I hope she will have a great future as a member of nightwish and generally as a (metal) musician....she´s really great. Can´t get enought of her voice. This is the best demonstration. Her voice makes my flesh crawl so badly !!!
Hahaha. She has that effect on almost everyone. The 4% of people who hate her are probably just jealous or just still caught up in the NW singer flame-war.
My favorite song to sing live is Ghost Love Score!

Opposite, yet similar for me. I was way into them when I was about 12-13 then somehow lost interest. I'm 27 now and just recently rediscovered them and was instantly captivated by their new singer. I'm seriously kicking myself for sleeping on them for over a decade.
it's never late my good sir, rock on!

Jukka doesn't nearly get enough credit. He's absolutely killing it here. What a legend.
Yess! Credits to the drummers,I as a drummer realized the effort of all musicians but Jukka killed it!
Many people are saying that, but could you describe to a noob ear, what that means? This performance is amazing, but I have no skills to say how something is great other to say that it is great.
YESSS I loved him ... too bad he has since quit nightwish. The new guy is just as good a drummer but hes no where near as hot :P
@@Tuikkari a mix of two things
- sound: he has just the perfect sound for Nightwish's music. deep, resounding, a heartbeat's vibe that keeps everything together
- playstyle: simple, direct, once again perfectly fitting the music. There's so much going on through the song that technical fills would just compete for attention, so he goes for a seamless groove. He's there laying the foundations, until the song needs him to amp up the intensity, and then he makes his presence felt.
A great example of talent at the service of the whole group
@@DekkarJr he haven't quit. He is doing management for the band because of his problems with amnesia. He might come back some time.

This drummer -one of the hardest working guys in metal. Killing it
Absolutely
He's really good, but there are a lot of even better drummers out there. I think Kai is a little over-qualified for Nightwish, compared to what he did for Wintersun.
Yeah...I won't be surprised if Tuomas and Marko decides their current lead guitarist is not good enough and have him replaced too.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Nightwish aren't just a band. They're a spiritual journey and I'm glad I have been a part of that journey.
The ending of this is easily one of the greatest moments of music history for me. Impossible to hear it and not get emotional.

One of the greatest song ever performed alive. The Peak of live music. Thanks Nightwish.
Not sure how many people realize that this is pure art. The singing technic, the music arrangement, the amazing atmosphere... Pure art!

Just head bangers, most pill and drug fucked.
The best thing I like about Floor, aside from her killer voice and Goddess looks, is that she seems to be genuinely happy to be there with Nightwish. She can't stop smiling. That's amazing.
Notice how happy they all look since 2013 too
She's an amazing human being in more ways than one.
I watch that show with all the singers who cover each other's music. She is an angel on Earth!

Floor: Her Best performance
Nightwish: Their best mood and capability ever

Most definitely true...
A bold statement, not without merit.
Not their best mood nor capability... In terms of what's out here for us to see, "From wishes to eternity" has to take that statement home...
No way. The best performance of this song was in the end of an era show.
@@redocykuron The highlight of this performance is Floor's incredible singing at the end of the song and especially that last note, which is called "Floorgasm" by the fans.
I agree, her gestures and control are 30% of the reason why this live performance is amazing af
When she hits THAT note, my body shivers, it never fails. She`s amazing, never stop, Floor!
I shiver, laugh hysterically and cry all at the same time
You got your "Floorgasm" :)

I'll be 70 next year (in about 5 months) this is the kind of thing I say around for. And Patty Gurdy LOL.
Empu displays and incredible range of skill and restraint. A true artisan.
Nightwish is far more a family than a band. Sometimes Floor is called "the front woman" but she refers to the other band members as "my brothers" . Say no more...

I just cried at that ending. It stabs into my heart at the exact right spot. This is a masterpiece of music history.
@@Finkelfunk Yes, that's true. And with Floor, although if it feels she doesn't care about the singing, her singing is so perfect, so effortless.

The entire song certainly does build to it doesnt it?
O.M.G! That voice!!!! I'm in love!!!! She is amazing!!!
What a gorgeous human being Floor is!!!
She is an exceptional Woman and Singer!
11/10 for her!
yes, absolutely!!!!!

She is a Valkyrie.
Immaculate interpretation by Floor, exactly the right timbre during the whole song
I'm not even that big of a Nightwish fan, but this may be the best live vocal performance that I've ever heard. High, low, clean, gritty, Floor can sing it all
same, first time i've heard them and this is perfection.
Still think this performance of Floor is much more impressive: Poet and The Pendulum: ruclips.net/video/iEzZRMthhXU/видео.html
'cos you never heard Tarja
@@monao.9999 Floor>Tarja overall
So what kind do you like?
@@wussboyd1 I think you may have misinterpreted the intent of the sentence, Wuss. I've been a musician (of sorts :)) for thirty odd years too and I'm not easily impressed either - that's not because I think I am so great but because, having moved in the circles of musicians for so long, I have seen and heard an awful lot of performers and that gives a good yardstick against which to measure a talent.

The national anthem of symphonic metal
Sometimes i ask myself between this and The Bard's song but Floor always wins
THIS RIGHT HERE. THIS IS HOW YOU DESCRIBE THIS SONG!
If you're looking for an argument from me, you'll have to keep looking.
@@mhahn135fair but I’d say the Bard’s Song is more power metal/even folk
The UNIVERSAL anthem of symphonic metal
in my humble opinion one of the best songs ever written by anyone
I think it is written actually like a movie soundtrack, this makes it unique.
WHAT A SINGER! She is the most complete singer i've ever heard!
supermassivecat totally agree can't beat her.amazing voice range.
supermassivecat If you think she is good, you will be surprised to hear the voice of Tarja Turunen with that same song when she was part of Nightwish.
Tarja nailed this song. I cant listen to other leads singing it
I’m 77 and discovered Nightwish through Floor singing in Beste Zangers. I watch every video I can find of them now. Unbelievable what a happening!
I've seen her with the opera singer dude. It's a good place to start.
Welkom in de (gothic) metalscène, Berry!
It genuinely sounds like it could be a studio recorded version were it not for the crowd cheering
its just as good as the crowd performance from the bards song:D
yeah sounds exactly like the studio version!
Much better than the studio version :D
Literally one of the greatest live performances of all time, no exaggeration.

S and M for me, that whole album is nearly perfect (especially Fuel)
It's been nearly six years since this performance and I still get chills every time I hear this version of the song.
Every single time.
6 years. August 2013.
Oh wonderful, I didn't know she was pregnant again, how lovely~
This must be one the greatest live performances ever by humans doing ANYTHING AT ALL. I can’t stress enough how difficult it is to sound like that live. Incredible
Listen to Roy Khan kamelot -abandonned live
fully agreed.
I agree it was stellar, but ofc the backing track of the orchestra and choir is doing a huge amount of the work in this song.
This is incredible, if this doesn't give you goosebumps, especially the last 2 minutes, check your pulse, you're possibly dead. Great lyrics, great music/musicianship topped off with an exceptional voice, it doesn't get any better.
Andy T
I say that about people that don’t feel Jeff Buckley. This does nothing for me and I assure you I’m quite alive with a fast pulse. I respect it though. Just don’t feel it.
Maria Muse you're absolutely right, music is all about taste, thankfully not everyone has the same taste. There's so much nastiness in some comments you read, I was happy to be disagreed with in such a polite way
Andy T
Aww, my pleasure. Agreed. Music is quite visceral. I can acknowledge a piece of music for its worth while not actually connecting with it personally. It’s inexplicable.
In my opinion... this has got to be the best live performance of all time.

@@olemaggenson buuuuuuuuuuuuuuurn :D
Boni Maxime Libertas you don't know what an opinion is now do you?
Her voice at the end 😍
I saw live coverage of their show wacken 2018... was disappointing compared to this show. Yes, best they ever did imho
One of the best singers I've ever heard. She has so much control on her voice. I would love to watch a Nightwish concert someday.

Listening to (this particular version) of this song is nothing short of a spiritual experience.
@@redpillbulgaria-v2.063 We all saw the woman in the audience who thought it WAS a spiritual experience.
Probably one of the most epic songs of all time
Yes. One other epic song I can recommend is Stargazer by Rainbow. If you don't know it, take a listen.
Surely
Destiny from Stratovarius is epic at this level.
Now in October 2019, still one of the most epic song I've ever heard in my life and one of the greatest live performance I've ever seen. That last note still gives me chills after, idk, like hundred times I've heard this already.
Ricky Sebastian man, same, I tear the hell up, I cannot explain what this song does to me and to be more specific, Floor's performance!
I mean this is just the apex of rock/metal
It's alright.
The band is so instrumental they mix perfectly with her vocals awesome 👏
8:25 onwards, I can't even describe it. I have never seen or heard anyone that lost in the music before. The ending was legendary.

What would it be if nightwish would be on stage with a whole choire and orchestra performing this wonderful piece of music😍😍😍 (if i havent missed something ☺)
No matter how many times I listen this song...... goosebumps guaranteed. Amazing live performance Floor ❤❤❤
Welcome
Just watch the whole show. 2013 wacken Nightwish.
One of the best live-performances I've seen.
yeah, this was awesome irl at wacken this year. best gigs i've ever seen

Samoilla mestoilla oltiin. ;)
Ghost Love Score was the song that made me discover Nightwish, so it holds a special place in my heart. And with Floor, it's like I'm rediscovering it again! Her performance sends shivers down my spine... Especially that part:
"Take me, cure me, kill me, bring me home
Every way, every day
I keep on watching us sleep
Relive the old sin of
Adam and Eve
Of you and me
Forgive the adoring beast"
..
Hussein Caceres I have to disagree with "They are Nightwish again". Nightwish never ceased being Nightwish. It just had a different singer. As long as Tuomas is around, the essence of the band will remain. Now, wether or not you like their singers is up to you, of course.
Did you perchance discover Nightwish through YTMND, then? Ghost Love Score was kind of a big fad theme back in the day. ;)
Arcterion
On the Internet, that's an eternity. :p
Renegade Paladin Me? Nope. The song was actually in a TES IV: Oblivion video.
She's truly the best of both!
all can see and hear that except some few opera fans
And she can grunt O.o
DrakeSilmore and actually she can do it so greatly :D
WeirdD ShittT Just wonder, isn't that really dangerous for your vocal chords?
It can be, but she sayd in some interwievs shes learning how to do it without raping her chords :D
People usually discuss the singer but for me this is the song of the drummer, Jukka was a beast.
100% correct
Still miss him performing. He's phenomenal.
Amen...most drummers depend on a consistent time signature. Jukka NEVER misses the many changes Tuomas builds into his works of art!
Am I the only one with tears in my eyes after hearing this because of its incredible beauty?
You're not alone.
Is it the beauty of the song, singer or her voice that brings tears to you eyes?
It's official... I have watched and listened to this over 200 times in just over 2 weeks... still gives me the chips, goosebumps, and teary eyes. 🤘🥵🤘
