Listen to the "Islander" where Mrco sings low and later high...sounds wonderful!! That Live version on stage, where he talks in his own language!!

I went to Nightwish concert and honestly, the LIVE quality was much better than the audio version. She’s hardly a human being, may be a siren.
it's just that Floor has this HUGE passion... you can feel it in the song, she is so good and gives so much while she sings that she has been capable of bringing Nightwish to life once again

Hopefully he'll be back, but I doubt it. Once you hop off the Nightwish carousel, there doesn't seem to be any getting back on. Anette left temporarily to be a mom, but Floor then replaced her permanently. Jukka left for health reasons and had the same thing happen. Shame because Marko is an amazing vocalist.

I saw them live like... 2005? The thing I remember the most about that show was just what an incredible sweet heart Marko was. Tarja was kinda quiet between the songs and didn't really interact with the audience at all but Marko, he was just all over the place, sang dumb songs with us and shit. It was amazing and now I'm sad I don't get to see him live again

Floor was talented she always wanted to sing at high tune,after she went at Rock Academy Tiburg/Netherlands and learned how to control her voice and became more skilled...she is amazing person too.
Floor is really, really impressive. She has an amazing voice, she can headbang, growl and all of this stuff, but most important of all, she's got a incredible aura of power, beauty and kindness that makes her presence on the stage just... divine. It can be felt through a mere video, for the public seems to be in heaven, but also the rest of the group : they seem so damn happy to play music.

I grew up with Nightwish and Tarja, then I turned my back on them when Anette joined (no hate, just wasn't my cup of tea) and saw them again some years back on a festival. I had heard of Floor but didn't know what to expect. But oh gosh... I got blown away. I was standing second to third row and I had goosebumps the entire concert. Tears streaming down my face I fell in love with my old favourite band all over again

As much as I love End of an Era, I maintain that Wacken 2013 is the band’s zenith. The sheer energy of the performance is out of this world.

Nightwish needs strong vocal to keep up with the best bands. I raped the replay button of the first albums, becouse the momment I hear that skinny ass bitch singing, I start to cry, and NOT in the good meaning of the word.
I dont disrespect other people of the band, they are doing their part, what is important, the problem is that I expect good, strong, female vocal when I play their songs, not some pop-star.

There honestly isn't anything whatsoever special about the musicianship in this band, at the very beginning of this band the guitars, bass, drums etc were not noticed by anyone. Only the vocals were. The main change with Annette was just the uptempo songs that had a more poppy feel. Take from that what you will, some like that, some don't. But no denying Tarja got them on the map. As for Floor, she's great for the band.

The skill that Jukka displays in those double bass pedal areas is just inconcievable to me, and I spent 20 years as a bassits playing with some very good drummers and a couple of well known ones. But, hats off to Jukka, he is so gifted. I hope he is doing better with the insomnia.

She sings a lot in chest/head voice but a falsetto is always only head voice. Some of those were falsetto, seems like a D6 is easily her comfort zone for highs.

There are some parts in which she uses head voice, mostly in parts in which she doesn't deliver much power, just to hit the right notes gently :)
As a teen in the 80s, I grew up listening to Sabbath, Kiss, Maiden, etc and I've literally just stumbled onto these guys - holy crap! They are amazing!

Lori Lewis proves that a great classically trained soprano can do metal. Unfortunately she's rare. Most of the classical singers in metal are more freestyle than actually using a specific technique like professional opera singers do.

+SageFox a lot of female singers are sopranos. Floor actually is to. Soprano has nothing to do with opera. Soprano means you can reach very high notes. Like Tarja can. But Floor can too. I for example cannot. I'm a mezzo-soprano. Soprano, mezzo-soprano, alt they are terms that are used to point out the vocal range. But soprano doesn't necessary means you sing like an opera singer. In operas soprano's are most common because of their high range of notes. And yeah Tarja could sing like she was singing an opera. But every voice is unique. And Floor's soprano voice is beautiful in her own unique way. She fits in better in this genre than Anette did but I don't "hate" Anette because she also had a wonderful voice. But her voice just didn't really belong to this genre I feel. Floor's voice does. And I love her voice just as much as Tarja's voice but both in their own unique way. If you only like Tarja's voice quit complaining. She has gone solo so you can still listen to her if it's all about the voice to you!!!

@@lenn741 Sorry, I was mistaken... Kai works with Nightwish since 2014, when Jukka had to take some time off due to his insomnia condition. Back then he played with them during a tour untill Jukka returned.
But in 2019 Jukka announced his pernanent retirement from Nightwish, so Kai is now the permanent drummer in the band.

I love Tarja, and there are a couple songs that I prefer in her interpretation, but one cannot be compared to a Force of Nature! Floor Jansen is the best singer in this planet. Kudos to Nightwish for giving us both.

With Floor I believe the band can do much better,Tarja is unique and great but because of this she also restricted the band's craetivity. Anette has a powerful voice but without the "Nightwish" technique.She was kinda suck when she sing "Tarja's songs".Floor has opera technique and a very powerful voice. She can sing every Nightwish's song perfectly. I believe she is indeed the perfect match for the band really looking forward to their next album!!!
I sincerely believe that, after years with Anette, one could easily create a good judgement of Nightwish's next vocal. Tarja was a great vocalist, and still is. Floor's voice is not the same as her's, is a great voice as well and it fits the band's music. I can not ask for much else.

First I couldn't get over the Tarja version because I felt it was the "right" one, but now I adore Floors version, there's so much power and emotion in her voice.

Dammmn, i used to remember better times when Tarja was in Nightwish, when Anette entered the band,( after all the Drama with Tarja ) i lost hope for the band to recover that POWER, it once had, but now, DAMMMMN, im so glad i was wrong, Floor, is amayzing.

+AleJuliet Was it stupid to fire vocalists who had caused already for a longer time stress and insecurity about the band's future? Tarja was more interested in starting her own solo career and her husband/manager represented her in negotiations - she nearly lost the direct communication with the band. The way she was fired was very stupid though. What comes to Anette, she got pregnant in the middle of a world tour and then refused to accept a normal maternity leave and a substitute while she would not have been able to do the gigs herself, but she asked the band to postpone them. She would've had to take sick leaves several times too, so it would surely have been better for her to stay safely at home anyway, instead of travelling long ways. She could have come back after maternity leave, but she messed up the things for herself.

Either way I admit that calling him stupid isn't reasonable at all, but if a lot of bands can keep their singers for a whole lifetime and they can't, twice already, I could suspect that maybe the vocalist are not the problem.

WOW, what a great performance. Starts off slow and easy, then just explodes into a show of talent far more impressive and visually exciting than I expected. Every member of the band is just great. Such beautiful, powerful voices. The keyboard, lead guitar, bass guitar, drums - ALL OF IT JUST SO IMPRESSIVE. I just discovered this band and they blow me away!!!
The greatest performance of this song, EVER. Floor is a freaking Goddess.

I'm 74 all the years l have listed to music over the years l have seen many groups, Nightwish l enjoy very much, love Floor , lovely person .
There is something ethereal or otherworldly about this entire performance. Like my ears can't believe something like this could possibly even exist. Yet there it is, right in front of me... How!?

This was the first song I heard with Floor in the band. When I found myself feeling the same emotions I felt when I first heard Tarja sing it I knew Nightwish was back on track as the top Symphonic/Operatic Metal band. Floor has a lot to give and she gave it all that night at Wacken.
I found Nightwish way too late. I'd love to go back in time to hear this band live. This might be the greatest band of all time, and I've heard some really good bands. I'm sorry I missed this line up, God knows I wish for a Nightwish reunion!!!!!!!
They aren’t officially broken up so they might start touring again in a few years, you never know
On my funeral there will be a goddamn PLAYLIST of Wacken 2013 Live performances from them.
