@Lynx eww I get it. This is interesting....I like porn just as much as the next guy. I also am aquaintances with a couple who run a major porn site. I won't go to their parties and find it skeezy. I can't even watch videos from their company because I know them. Porn is odd as prostitution is illegal, but put a camera their and it's fine. They even make a joke about it on family guy.
Thank you for this Mr. Jocko. I heard this today morning and had an amazing day - worked out, worked like a fiend, ate like a fiend, socialized and am now working hard on my hobby. Looking forward to implementing this approach in the future. Although, it basically sounds like a Nike ad, it's the right approach to getting things done.

the power in this world is the thoughts of the human being. the human body is an amazing machine but, the mind is far superior. you dont have to do anything for some things to work . thinking, listening, looking, breathing, all functions that automatically work. if you get cut, you don't have to tell your body to close up the wound, it regenerates new skin without any effort from you. the body is an extension of the mind. strong mind, strong character. its choices, to work out or not, to learn or not, to listen or speak, to accept or ignore, you make the choices. we are a product of our thinking. want change ? change your thinking.
It is hard because of habits. Those tendencies that we have are things that we have been doing for thousands of years. So to break such a strong habit it takes a lot of work and a lot of failures and trying again. Until we finally build new habits that are working with us and not against us.
I expect there are plenty of people who will call out that this is easier said than done. And that is perfectly true. But it is not impossible to do what Jocko says here. But you may have to descend into your own personal hell and battle your fiercest demons to do it. You absolutely can "just do it". But nobody said it wasn't gonna hurt like hell. Persevere.
