I watched this everyday in 2017 in the fall. I was over weight 280lbs, my girlfriend left me and took my kid. I was down I was out. But this video, It jumpstarted my careers, got my life in order. I’m a united airlines employee and a firefighter today with custody of my child and 190lbs. Whoever edited this video, thank you. It took me to new heights and drove me to be a warrior. I’m here now I’m 2022 looking back and remember this where I started. Thank you

Fuck ya. Great work. Jocko had the same effect on me in 2020. I was 250 lbs, winded just walking my dog. As people complained about gaining weight during covid, i started running. Yoga. Eating well. 2 years later im 175 lbs. Another 20 to go. Im almost a blue belt in Brazilian jui jitsu. Finished my first half my marathon. Jocko shows us the way. But we gotta put in the work

I am a Chaplain and a Minister I had just given "The Last Rites" to my cousin. I had been with him at the hospital for 8 straight days while he lays in a coma and spending time with my family. As my eyes fill up with tears and I feel part of me breaking this video has helped strengthen me so much.

Honestly going through the motions is the best advice ever, it teaches you to persevere and not give in to your instant gratification mindset. so many people give up thinking “no point in going through the motions it’s not beneficial” such a lesson I have learned this year is how vital it is to do things even when the drive and motivation is not there, the physical workout may not have been your best but the mental workout you just went through to force yourself not to give in was worth more than anything.

They say that greatness is how one responds to suffering. The more I think about this the more it echoes truth. I think it explains a lot about veterans. Many come back defeated. The suffering was too much for them. Others come back different though, they come back stronger. They responded to suffering with determination and defeated the barrier. These veterans I have learned from more than any other teachers or professors. I think it is because they have seen the worst suffering. They've seen the devil and walked by him. I think these experiences have almost unlocked a level of wisdom that doesn't come with out suffering. People like Jocko know what living is and it is these people that we should all look up to.

I honestly think success in life is just a matter of intensity. So many people who just limp wrist through life. I genuinely know some people who have never tried their absolute hardest on something. Whether that be physically or mentally. They key to success is to keep attacking. Take a breather every once and a while, sure. But never take your eyes of the goal and always be 100 percent intense.

I am that person he talks about in the beginning. I've been on self-improvement for the past seven years. If I look at it, I've gained knowledge most don’t even know exists. At the end of the day, did it give me what I crave in my heart? No. But it was damn worth it because this video confirmed that I am finally on the right path. What's even crazier is that the video got uploaded the year I started my journey of self-improvement. It got me emotional thinking I could’ve found it that year, but life works in mysterious ways. I probably wouldn’t have been ready at that time. Now, I know my search is over. #NeverGiveUp | #DareToLiveYourDream

If never really been lazy and I work out alot but this video has made me realize of who I need to be. Just like he said "there are days where you don't want to work out, that's when you need to work out". He and David Goggins have motivated me more than anything. There are days when I don't want to go train rugby and then I would think of an excuse on not going but this has made me want to go just because I don't want to on that day. David Goggins said that when you don't want to do it but you do it, you feel better than ever after and that is true because that is exactly how I feel on those days. What he and David said has made me want to "suffer" because then I know it is something worth fighting for.

I’m a psych nurse and Jocko emphasizes what you need to do to get out of a funk. Smash that depression, smash that loneliness, smash that guilt inside that’s telling you to give up. You gotta move and do it even when you don’t feel like doing it. Fuel your body with good food, fuel your spirit with prayer and fuel your mind with books! Work hard to make your life better because life always knocked me down but I always got up stronger.
Your body wants that quick hit of dopamine (junk food, alcohol, drugs, sex)..let your mind fight that urge and do something that will give you a gradual dopamine such as work out, projects and read. Don’t let women take your goals and fire away from you, don’t let your family and friends negativities get you down. Get to work and and have some passion in what you do..I don’t care if you flip burgers or bag groceries..we all have customers. I just happen to have customers that want to commit suicide and I love my job helping those to take the war path and not the easy way out..
I stayed in the car today outside the gym and was about to skip my workout and go home because I was tired..I said f$&@ it and ended up lifting hard then playing three competitive games of basketball with some big boys. It felt good to get out of the gym instead of go home and be lazy. Beat that ‘lazy voice in your head’ that wants to rest and just do it! If you’re not in total exhaustion then your body and mind can still go..trust me. Take the war path fellas..take the war path! Jocko is a great inspiration to us all!

I am having a severe depression and every morning, I wanted to call in sick and not go to work because I just didn't think I could make it. But I also had little "Jocko" voice in my head that tells me, I should go to work today despite how I feel or how sick I am. In my mind that's infested with depressive thoughts, the world seemed like in chaos. But I still got up and went to work. And you know what? It was great. Some people still got on my nerves but I held my head high and kept my professional attitude. I never acted sick or complained about shit at work, but I just did what I could to make things better and make everyone (including myself) happier. And you know, by actually "doing it", it made me feel better and made me a better person. "Just by doing it", I conquered my fears and made a difference. Thanks, Jocko. You will always be in my head.

..I couldn't walk much and needed to be driven around..I was weak, but here I am today going back to all these same words of self motivation inspirational fire....you got this....a world depends on you....self, family, friends...if you don't drive on...they can't ride that chariot of never giving up! Keep good company that have that fire! Or believe in you...even if you don't know it....After leaving the Army Infantry, I've always felt like a one man Army always going it alone....it gets lonely, the lens I see the world through because of that and because of being native of this land from ocean to mountains to desert....death is always a moment away from all of us....a snake, a shark, a car wreck, an attack...it's always there. I've recently come across your page and wanted to say thank you. I've been in a dark place lately and your videos have helped start to pull me out of it. As a veteran and now social worker who helps people with their struggles, it's often difficult to remember I have to continue to work on my own as well.

    I love this shit.
Funny how the video is filled with athletes, talking about athletic motivation, but for me, is shit motivates me to keep grinding at the ol' career stone.

You start with dishes and if you show pride and initiative in your work you'll start working on the line. Working in a kitchen when I was still in Highschool was one of the most stressful but yet rewarding feelings I've had.

Don't talk to much, don't trap yourself in your head, don't over think it , eat the frog and do what you know is hard first, make a plan and follow it, action action action .
