It’s a rock song, and I don’t like the production and lyrically it’s not her greatest but vocally amazing, to me if a song lyrically and production wise isn’t good vocals can save it from being a horrible song.

I love all songs in Mariah's debut album. My fave is All In Your Mind. And my fave in Whitney's debut album is You Give Good Love. Both songs may not be the best in their album but have something that I can listen without getting bored.

“I Don’t Wanna Cry” is the best song off this album and one of her best songs ever. You think the studio version is good? Listen to it “Live at Tokyo Dome 1996” that daydream tone does that song JUSTICEEEE 🖤.

Daydream tone ruins the song. It's not a whimpering song that a childish tone can pull off. It is a womanly song that only a more mature sound can do (music box tour for instance)

Even though this album was nominated for the Album of the Year Grammy award, I think we can all agree Mariah was growing. I personally love it. It's a strong debut! 9/10

"The production sounds a bit dated." Ugh. It was ahead of its time for the early 90's. I tried...but I really don't care about people's opinions of music that is older than them.
her debut is my least favorite album of her, but I really love it. Vision of Love and Vanishing are my favorite songs of all time. All in your mind, Prisoner and Someday are pretty good ones too. I just don't really like the "early 90's dark atmosphere" that the majority of this songs emane, and I believe that Mariah only improve with the time
