I want an 18v version 😍
love your videos, as always!
Apparently they're working on one. Might have a bit less power though
Still waiting...
@@nicksgarage2 Me too
@@nicksgarage2 ... for this world to stop hating?
@@foetusdeletus6313 yes, but so far more expensive than the 40v one
I could see this being popular with electricians or PC builders.
Nahhhhhh I see it being popular with magicians so they can blow smoke up your ass
/s
Usually you're inside so you're using a small portable VAC
For painters it's useful to clean the Wood from dust
Why would an electrician want one... they never clean anything 😂
Wow, as a computer guy, this would be awesome for cleaning out PC cases and rack cabinets! Nice!
Thanks for the detailed review. With all your Makita tool reviews, Makita should be be giving you tools to review. I can only imagine how much money you've spent on this channel.
I hope there will be an LXT model, it would be great for exhaust fan grilles.
I didnt think if that!!! The amount of people who will come out with niche uses will be insane!
Same for ac/cooling/refrigeration condensors
There’s not much of a reason for it not to be. The part it’s based around is usually 19-25v and 375, 400 and 500 watts. I can’t find the 36v one that is in the as001g. Does the 36v one have a higher wattage? I don’t know. As stands, the 400-500 watt models could easily be handled by LXT.
I love my little 18v Makita blower. I use it all the time. This one looks promising.
Great video. All fingers and toes crossed for an 18V version as soon as possible.
I have a large compressor (exterior, thus, quiet) running all of the time at work, and so the blower tip works great. But man, what a great tool for someone who wants to ditch a compressor for blowing out! Great review, and thanks.
I bought the makita 18v lunchbox shaped wet/dry vac - which has a blower function as well. I use that for blowing dust off tools.
I may 3D print a smaller nozzle like this to make it a lot more powerful
you'll have to share a vid when you do!
This is great for drying small things - water bottles, jewelry that’s gone through an ultrasonic cleaner, watch bracelets… all those things small or cramped things that you can never dry completely with cloth.
Very excited to pick this up and stop buying cans of compressed air for the small stuff around the house!
Also when cleaning glasses, safety glasses or optical parts it might be handy. Clean with dishwasher soap, rinse with water, then blow it dry which is blowing away most of the water but not evaporating it gives the clearest surfaces on any oaptics stuff quick and easy. Doing this with a big leaf blower now, but i am a bit sceptic this one might be a significant improvement in convenience. I was expecting it to come closer to the power of a compressor with pressure tank, as having to get the pressurized air oil free is an additional inconvenience making me not wanting a compressor.
Around 8 times more expensive than a regular battery-powered blower but to each their own I guess. I use a regular battery-powered blower to dry out my bike and more rarely blow dust off of things
@aliancemd 8 times more expensive??? Absolute rubbish.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL It's very expensive if you don't have the new XGT batteries and charger.
So let me try and understand your reasoning... you are comparing the price of this tool with batteries and a charger, to a bare workshop blower (I suspect even a knock off by your math) and you think that's a logical and fair comparison???
Can’t wait to get this in Australia!
Your reviews are awesome mate very in-depth 👍
Cheers
This would be the perfect tool to clean those dust in my rotary hammers' chuck, I've been using my 18V Makita compact blower to do those kind of stuff but it just isn't compact enuf
I love my 40V duster. I use it all the time to clean everything. Even for drying the crevices in the bodywork of my car after a wash, lol
I need this in my life right now.
Great, so where's the 18V model? :)
Wish this was available in the UK right now !! Main use for me would be blowing out the crap from the van after grinding &
blowing myself down etc. I'd go for the 40v definitely, but 18v if no other choice.
18V PLEASE
Looking forward to this if it gets released in the states. I’m tired of wasting money on air can dusters.
Definitely agree with you . I have one from Ryobi which I got for like 30 bucks but I’m well invested in makita
Reading through the comments, seems some are totally against this tool. Interesting. I can't wait to get ahold of one. I use my compact blower, like the one you compared this too, all the time. It's usually within arm's reach. Remodeling houses for a living, this tool would have a million and one uses, in my opinion.
I've had an idea for awhile now: for larger tools like tablesaw I want to install a length of hose leading to the inside where saw dust can get clogged or just piled up. I would zip tie the hose in place. Then, when needed, just attach this blower (or another) to the hose and, well, blow!
The ability to blow out holes for for concrete anchor installation with this would easily be worth the purchase. IN MY OPINION. I don't want to get anyone all pissed off at me in the comment section now.
As always, thanks for the review. Yours is definitely the go to channel for new makita stuff. It's great to have a preview of tools to come, and then wait 6-12 months to finally purchase one. Yep.
The lunchbox style wet/dry 18v vac from makita has a blowing function - which is really good.
If I 3D printed a smaller nozzle to fit - itlll be stronger than this
That's a smart idea! My DeWalt table saw sometimes gets clogged up completely
Great rewiev! Now I want it even more! I think it would be great for drying spaces inside the car or my tools after rain.
I think the lunchbox style wet/dry vac (which also has a blower function) may be better use. DVC750 I think it’s model Is, also brushless.
I had wet carpets in my van, and it pulled up cups of water easily.
I maybe will 3D print a nozzle/reduced for the blowing function - which will likely be as strong as this handheld blower
@@JDAfrica thanks, I got this one. I mean spaces where this one has problems to reach. Or more like compact thing which I can take with me to clean my car from snow.
Nice to see some north island scenery for a change :)
I want this now!!! The fans are quiet I've got the smaller one. No problem
That compressor 😄. The good old day's. But still good in some cases. The fan sound in the back round is fine to me. Cheers Cuz 🌞🤙🏾
All compressed air blow guns have a loop like that in that exact spot and I believe that is why they put one on this machine. The width might make it difficult to use though.
I will definitely buy an 18v model purely for chemset holes and cleaning tools.
Came across the new 8ah xgt battery on Makita nz last night can't wait to see a size comparison
Build a compressor box and line it with the cheapest sound dampening you can find...massively reduces the ear damage...keep up the good work and vids mate. Surely Makita could make an 18v version for us
fantastic review and a must buy from me.
I just pre ordered so many uses that I feel like I need it
Thank you for review love it going to buy it. By the way tooth brush is best for the washing machine Lint filter - 10 second job. 😉
Since I subscribed to this chanel I've bought more Makita tools than I've got storage. At least now I can use them to build an addition to sort that out.
BTW I've recently bought the XGT powerhead UX01G with the brush attachment and although it's a good workout operating one of them it really does a good job cleaning up pavement. Brushes all the weeds between the cravices with ease without blowing all the sand in the joints out like a pressure washer does.
im struggling to get hold of one its out of stock
Tim from Handy Hardware just rang me. They have 4 of the kits just come in. Blower, charger, 2.5Ah Battery. Not up on the website yet. If you want one get in quick! Tell them I sent you.
The tube attachment is great for cleaning holes for chemical anchors !
I’d like to hang this off my tool belt with a dust extraction hose connected to the tool I’m using. Ideally with a HEPA filter of some sort to act as an air purifier, when it’s too hard to set up a proper extraction system on the site, which is most of the time tbh.
That and blowing out holes for rebar like you said.
See if you can fill a basket ball or bike tires (with jimmy rigged attachments) and to what PSI it can go.
Just a thought, can you make a short vid on Builds about using this tool to clean metal shaving from a clogged up magnetic nutsetter, if this tool can do it then I will definitely get it the moment you put a link somewhere
kind of like yourself, i’d use it to replace my air-compressor type jobs.
in the workshop that’s the constant blowing down of work surfaces when i’m wood working. i do that like every couple of minutes to make sure nothing puts joints out of line when glueing/screwing etc.
i’d use it in the house like you mentioned but maybe whilst vacuuming (would depend on the weight) i use a paintbrush to move dirt/dust on skirting boards and door trim etc and vac it up once it’s free 🤷. maybe to tool would make it harder.
i also use a paintbrush on tree jobs (i’m an arborist) to clean the oil and fuel caps before refueling. they get very dirty and the concern is that globs of oily sawdust get into the tank when you take the caps off.
the paintbrush only does so much and i’ve been thinking about a battery air compressor to do that job.
it would also be good to clean out under the clutch cover on my saws without having to take off the cover.
when you take off the cover to clean (which you need to do or it will clog up and stop the saw you have to take off 2 nuts and you inevitably have to re-tension the chain.
this would (i’d say) fix that issue 80% of the time if you routinely blew out under the cover every tank of fuel.
price would be and issue. if it much over $200aud, i don’t know if it would be worth it.
i’ll leave that for you to change my mind
when i got an air compressor, i don’t know how i’d survived without one in the past.
maybe it will be the same.
18v or 36v too please.
I'm a vanlifer. I use the Dewalt 20v blower, but will likely get this one based on its size.
Hope Milwaukee comes out with their own M12 style of compact blower like this
13:55 well, I use my shopvac (with a proper bag) in order to vac all my smaller bagless filters. I also literraly vac the little bag of my smaller festool ctl sys vac (super expensive bags)
I keep a corded duster/blower designed for electronics (datavac I think) on my table saw and use it constantly to blow dust. It’s shaped and sized much like this blower. I don’t know what took tool companies so long to figure out how useful this is for woodworkers. I am probably going to buy into the 40v makita line just for this blower.
Have you seen this one ruclips.net/video/KeJ7xwQZ5pM/видео.html
I could see this useful cleaning out chainsaws after work.
I've been using my big Milwaukee blower to blow off tools and work areas for 5 years, i don't know if i can get used to that baby one
3d print nozzles for 18v version and you have a winner..
Will it clean out the fins in the middle of a radiator? That's pretty much all that I would use this for
If you have a smaller nozzle for the Makita, try that on the Samsung Magic Filter
I've had a MetroVac mains powered tool like this for a good number of years and I use it at least once a week but the cord is a major pain in the neck. I hope there is an 18V version with the same amount of power because I have no intention of getting into the 40V line.
Hope so myself. See no need that this has to be 40 V. But would like to see some improvements on the pressure so that a smaller nozzle can be used.
Nice review. I wonder if it would be a sufficient tool to blow the holes in concrete before installing a resin fixed studs.
Yes it has attachments for that... as was mentioned in the video.
Could you inflate an inflatable SUP with this to something like 15psi?
Hmmm I wonder what psi it gets up to before it cuts out
If you use compressor only for air gun... How about to small oilless silent air compressor?) For example Hyundai HYC 1824
I wish you would’ve tested it on a wet car, I really want this tool to quickly dry, or get the most water off, after a wash to cut the time of drying before detailing.
Tip for your washer filter. My guess is that you use fabric softener and that stuff is sticky in filter. Try using dish soap, that should do the trick.
Waiting for the 18v
Can you do a video on the 40v vs 18v impact drivers that you can buy in aus. Torq test Chanel did a test and the 40v was down on power by heaps vs the Milwaukee, they alleged the 18v is more power!
I have done multiple videos involving them. Take a look through my channel.
I am sold!! I want one. How is the battery life?

Cracks me up now he calls tools by the serial number 😂
A review of 40V impact wrenches would be great as it is probably the tool that is of most use to me.
Have you ever calculated the total cost/value of every tool you own? I reckon that would make a good video in itself.
Too scary... my wife might find out.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL I had a feeling you would say that 😄
We need this in LXT lineup
this tool clearly has had some thought and effort put into it, to make it as useful as it can possibly be. pretty nice thing to have. just wish makita would move over to the flat pouch cells now. and oh idk maybe update their quite oil impact driver with a few more features? and make it cheaper? that is more of a personal wishes. maybe others dont care so much about that specifically. so would be harder for makita to justify the r&d and productions costs of developing it? if so few people buys them vs the regular super loud impacts. i just want a really nice and loud impact driver. not a super mega loud one 😃
This great for cleaning computer.
Will they make an 18v version?
Hi,
Yes, it is brushless...as it is also written on the tool, just above the battery, you can read the word "brushless" 😉
Cool, I want it
I would really like one of these because I'm looking at getting a compressor purely for the blowing action. But it works out about $1000 in Oz because I'd need to buy some random 40V tool to get the battery+charger. Annoying.
OTOH the DX06 dust extractor for hammer drill is awesome, I just got one and it changes the game significantly. The clicker toy on the filter compartment is a surprising win, it seems like a gimmick but it actually works and I can see how it would save poople smashing the housing trying to knock dust out of the filter.
The kit will be out in a few months in Oz. Retails here for about $450.
It comes in a kit (here in NZ at least) - a 2Ah battery and a standard (not rapid) charger.
that's good news, Ill have to keep an eye out here. thanks
I am actually willing to buy into the xgt because of this blower but Makita won't make it easy for us in Europe yet :)
Februari/march :)
Bugga .. another tool I "NEED".
Blow things up and blow them down lol , checked Sydney tools and it’s not out yet.
Yer I want to eliminate the need to fire up the compressor.
I could be using this on air units , computer boards and outdoor coils.
Also do I get an 18v or 40v ?
If someone was to make a tornador style attachment for this i’d have to get one asap
Dunno if your still looking for alternatives to your air compressor gun to clean your wash filter, but i've been using the xgt inflator to blow stuff out like holes in concrete.
With the ball pump attachment it might have the pressure you'd need to blow out the gunk in the filter ... Alibeit its not intended for that.
Looks great, but why not have reverse for suction instead of having to add adaptors to the back?
Because then you would suck dust into the electronics.
Because a Bi-directional fan doesn't move as much air in 1 direction as a fan would that is designed to move air in only 1 direction would. So they would need a bigger motor, bigger fan and more battery drain if they made it bi-directional
the top heavy situation doesnt look as bad as the square drive impact
I need an 18v one of those.
Really want an LXT version ☹️
This is exactly what I need to clean out computers, vac filters and cars.
Might be OK for air conditioning & refrigeration condensing coils
I’m wondering how good it would work on those. I blow those out all the time at work and don’t want to carry around a big air compressor anymore
so cool bro. why we dont have it in Sydney yet bro?
Another month at least.
IAM getting this blower I had a ryobi one it is as good
@Tools & Stuff Be keen to see the earth auger.
Me too, especially at the moment.
Whats it like finding 2.5AH batteries in Nz? Theyre almost non existent here in canada
Piece of cake.
ryobi had one for a while, but I'm not buying it just because of this. I need the 18V PLEASE!!!!
How's the noise? Do you need hearing protection? Seems rather loud.
It's pretty noisy. I usually use earmuffs unless I have it on a low setting.

Without watching it again I would take a guess at Brooklands, New Plymouth.
Hey I got this in the USA but they don't have the stupid suction fitting! Can anyone find me this thing? Makita US says the part doesn't exist in our market I'm mad
I just got that fitting the other day and am going to do another video of ALL the attachments as I now have the complete set. I can give you the model number.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL I think I found the part number , but it doesn't look to be available in the US market. If you could clearly state the part number I think I could probably find an overseas eBay listing for it or something . So stupid it's the same tool, but apparently unavailable. and that suction end makes kiddies pool inflatables easy to deflate.
Make sure you are subscribed because this weeks video is going to be all about the attachments for this tool. The description will contain all the model #s and links to buy them if I can find them all.
would this be ok to use to clean inside a PC?
I think they will get used for that a lot.
If you use an old toothbrush 🪥 and soap on that washer filter, you may not even need to blow it out.
we have some in our warehouse in Australia
Well start selling them so we can stop sending them over from NZ 😉
Drying bottles inside. I use plenty of strange things for camping etc.
I asked you to compare how it blows water of the car and you forgotten ;(
I was hoping that I could buy only one tool that would do most things, even if not perfectly...
Whoops, sorry.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL Great excuse to do a short with a blower then ;~)
Maybe... what exactly did you want?
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL
There was another small blower in your video (06:11)
Just compare how much the GSA01 can move the water from the car in comparison to that blower :)
I know it will be slower, I must wonder how much.
So you'd pretty much dry your can using these two blowers and compare the results :)
Thank you for answering.
You forgot to do a k&n or spectre air filter
I would use it to blow fresh air on my face in summer
I've been doing that a lot over summer.
Too bad they don't have that in the 18v
Hi im need one. You sale
this looks comparable to the hikoki rb36db blower i have small and compact and great for cleaning out small areas
The whole I'm I'm wondering, "but how does it work on a keyboard?"
Then BAM!
What’s the difference between this and a regular hairdryer with cold air function besides the very targeted air flow control?
Like 50 times more powerful air blast?
@@riba2233 Thanks for the reply :) Didn’t know it was so much more powerful!
@@MrLolUltra I use it instead of compressor for blowing things out now, that says enough :)
@@riba2233 For me the $50 basic compressor still does his job. Never felt the need to upgrade, but I know for sure what I’m gonna get if I ever need a micro blower!
Can you inflate tire somehow with this?
No. You need a compressor for that. This is just a fan.
