VFX should be there to clean up, not CGI the whole damn thing. Unless its too much of a build vs time. I hear u. VFX artist here and always from day one said "but why not in camera!?" SFX and stunts are a breed of their own and I give the utmost respect.
I love how they're utilizing the tail in the creature stance design. The lower jaw having the prominent underbite/ long chin looks excellent, visualization of the skull underneath.. the lighting team is phenomenal.
I’m wondering if that’s a result of the cattle prod it takes to the head. It progresses to adult stage but is deformed. And I wonder if the tail up is a natural defense it developed after being stuck with the cattle prod. The alien is always on a constant state of alert now so its tail is always up and forward. It could also be the tail is a way for the alien to “see” or balance itself since it can’t see. We shall see!
I read the original Alan Dean Foster Alien book back in 1979 and when Parker and Lambert got killed and Ripley is rushing to them, she sees the Alien dragging Parker and Lambert into the air vents. That scene reminds me of that.
I love how closely the new alien animatronic resembles the Big Chap. You can feel the weight and presence of the creature, something that's been missing since the first film.
Apparently Fede Alvarez had a 35 mm print of the original on set at all times so each shot could be contrasted and compared to be able to accurately recreate all of the colour grading from Scott's original. THAT is the sort of love and affection that a true fan of cinema and the IP brings to the table.

The design for the alien looks awesome ASF the practical effects makes a Big difference i think especially for the alien franchise when it comes to the xenomorph it should be done with as much practical effects as possible

Maybe they aren't corpses. Remember, in the old games, the tail was used to stun people like a bee sting? The Xenomorph may be taking them to be cocooned.

It was sorta shown in A3 (when Murphy found the juvenile Alien hiding in the ducts, before he got acid spat in his face and carved up by the large fan blades). The "Box Alien" would also be good. Love the ALIEN graphic novel / comic book adaptation from 1979.
I just realized that "Lucky Star" what is the song Ripley was singing before she blew the alien out of the airlock. And they play in the final release trailer.
I agree they shouldn't have shown this. But, in retrospect. The tension is so palpable. So much Alien: Isolation vibes. What an amazing set and fuckin incredible practical effects of the xenomorph. If this is just one minute of what we will see with this film. We can only imagine how well the rest will play out.
I can't remember who that actress is, but I agree that she is absolutely selling the terror on her face and her body language. Also, I'm beginning to wonder if W-Y decommissioned that station just like Sevastapol and trapped the workers there. To let the experiment run. They are so evil lol.
I think it might pan out differently, i'm not sure Bjorn dies when swiped by the tail (I think he's the acid eaten character seen in the trailer) who then distracts the xeno long enough for Kay to hide and escape, only to be impregnated later. Just my guess.
There is a footage of her in the trailer where she looks in pain and we don't see her lower body .. mystery.. and the actress said in an interview that she had a scene where something disturbing happens. I can't wait to see this movie@@steveflatman

Lots of short clips just make me want to see the movie even more. I can't wait for this. My take on the two bodies is they can't actually be corpses if an Alien is bothering to take them. The poor sods are alive and will shortly be cocooned so a disgusting facehugger can attach itself to impregnate them with alien parasites. Man it's so creepy. Was that the Romulus space station being completely wrecked in the footage? If it was I'll guess it's an extreme measure taken to eliminate all aliens onboard. But there's no way it'll get them all. There will have to be at least one secretly stowed away on the shuttle human survivors are escaping on. These alien bastards are so hard to kill! And where ever there are a bunch of facehuggers put together with a group of humans then a hive is inevitable. It only takes one to burst out of somebodies chest and it'll go round gathering up everyone left for the facehuggers. That "new" alien we saw looked so realistic. It's going to scare the socks right off a lot of cinema goers. Most likely myself included😬😬😬

Alien fan since watching the first as a child on VHS. I think this is building tension and excitement for the movie. It’s about time the movie returns to source material and claustrophobic atmosphere of the original.

I just saw a interview with Fede where he described the cocoon state the chestburster do after getting out. Really interesting idea. He said the xenomorph used the surroundings to its benefit sucking the energy and electricity from the ship to grow big fast. By doing that the alien also become one with the ship and therefore the biomechanical structure it inherit.
Or just the same Xeno before it got injured. I think there Will be at least two creatures as well but I think that the way the trailers had been cut is to misleading us on the chronology and the Xenos. 😅

But also one of the female cast did mention something about TWO Xenomorphs. Is that it, do we see something else? Looking at the First Footage we had the Bloody Cryo Pod and in some of the latest footage we see Kay is inside of one... which is likely the disturbing Scene she mentioned. So she gives Birth to something... is that the 2nd Xenomorph or something else we have not been shown

Makes no difference if they are alive or dead. The bodies can still be cocooned.
If they are dead, we may see more of the eggmorphing process from the extended cut of Alien.

It's perfect, the body dragging has a slasher feeling to it, half animal but also half psychopath.
The 2 people may be unconscious (or close to dead) and being dragged away to be facehugged? Maybe food?

This does confirm that there will be TWO Xenomorphs.... something that the Funko Pop and Necca Toys revealed.
But also one of the female cast did mention something about TWO Xenomorphs.
Is that it, do we see something else?
Looking at the First Footage we had the Bloody Cryo Pod and in some of the latest footage we see Kay is inside of one... which is likely the disturbing Scene she mentioned.
So she gives Birth to something... is that the 2nd Xenomorph or something else we have not been shown

New trailer I saw on Facebook has an ASH voice over talking about how they've been looking for the Alien that got shot out of the airlock!
