    This was my go-to pairing for a while but swapped the SV to a RPM with the dribble more to imitate the same kind of player instructions - also he's more likely to get on the ball as a focused role which is something I learnt from you

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker

    Beautiful, will try this combo when I get two good DMs.
    One request, doesn't have to be immediate: at some point, can you talk about the non specialized roles? Like DM (de), CM (de/sp/at)? I was reminded of this by Zealand mentioning the CM (at) as one of his favorites. And Avgdad mentioning shifting it to the basic CM (sp) to shore up the midfield. This worked great in my lower league save where it's important to keep things simple. Curious about people's experiences with less fancy roles.

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
      @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker  3 месяца назад +1

      Yea that's a great suggestion; sometimes I get caught up doing the more "exciting" roles haha.
      And I totally agree. If I was making a list of my favorite roles in 5 FM (excluding the DLP of course lol), the Central Midfielder on attack would be #1. A really fantastic role; plays like a striker when attacking but the benefits of a midfielder in defense.
      Honestly one of my favorite tactics I've ever used is the one in Pacific FC save (I talk about it in the Anchor video and a couple others.) Just a really simple midfield of a CM(A), a Box to Box, and an Anchor. Simple but super effective

    Playing with usually just WBs on the wings with 2 CB, I didn't trust the Anchor with providing enough help with flanks, opting usually for a Halfback instead (to drop deeper and push the CBs to the sides). Even from the highlights you used I now see that might not be an issue, as he moves more freely than I thought. I perceived him as restricted to the middle.

    Great role combination, it's especially hard with 2 midfielders to let them touch on all needs in a tactic but this combination gives great defensive solidity and dynamic attacking support.
    The only downside is when up against a opponent with more midfielders in the central areas they will not be that effective and this combination get's countered, adding a AMC in the tactic the will help if you are the stronger opponent or playing at home.

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
      @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker  3 месяца назад +1

      I love using the Shadow Striker for this reason. He'll give you that attacking midfielder in build up and defending, but then you still get that two striker benefit.
      And yea the counter tactic is that space that these two create. If you counter on the opposite side of the anchor while the segundo is pushed up, you'd have a ton of space

    When people ask for a youtuber to recommend I drive all them to you, the way you look at the game and micromanagement every aspect, even for me that Im and experienced player encourages and motivates me to keep playing this awesome game.
    I find that for transition tactics VOL(a) is better than VOL(s), I think that in support, the volante is a role that suits better on positional and possesion tactics because he start from deeper positions, My advice is this, if you going to play a counterattack game you should put your volante on attack, or at least, a volante on support with get further forward.
    Have you find this year a succesfull way to play an AMC as a creator? like that type of Enganche or Attacking playmaker that sit on the hole and spray passes?

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
      @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker  3 месяца назад +1

      excellent tip, great call on the attack/support difference. And if you like to use the Segundo on support, you can use a player like Mateus in this one where he as the get further forward player trait haha. That'll work like you say in giving you the more possession based style, but then leaving it up to the player to get forward.
      As far as the AMC, I have a video coming up that discusses this and he's pretty much just a creator and I was able to have some success. (I promise i'm not being deliberatly obtuse haha; it's just that the video is still in its infancy so I don't quite know which topic it's going to turn into)
      And thank you for sending people to my channel!! I really appreciate the support. Every little bit helps out

    Excellent video as all the others before this one!
    A + SV is a so good partnership even the game itself suggests it!
    I wonder if RPM is a good B-side for the SV if you have a box to box player who is also creative.

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
      @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker  3 месяца назад +1

      It's funny you say that, the game itself mentions that and I forgot to point that out in the video hahaha.
      I think the RPM could work definitely. This is an extreme example since he's amazing at everything, but Jude Bellingham in the RPM with an Anchor could be pretty destructive

    Your videos are really clean and well edited, while also super insightful. Keep up the good work! What do you think of SV and BWM (d)? Having success as an average Bundesliga team in FM23, but sometimes my defenders get overwhelmed, probably because of the BWM being too often out of position in pursuit of the ball.

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
      @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker  3 месяца назад

      What formation are you using? If it's a back-4 formation, I personally wouldn't use them together; or at least it wouldn't be my first choice to pair them. If you have a good BWM that you want to use, you could try maybe a deep lying playmaker as a pair, or maybe a defensive midfielder (defend). Just someone that is going to hold their position in front of your centerbacks

    • @twalker166
      @twalker166 3 месяца назад

      @@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker by default it's attack and support, then support and defense against stronger sides. Forwards are DLFs and CFa with two IFa. The general idea is either the center forwards drop back/roam, pull the opp defense out of shape and leave space for the IFs to run in behind, or we flood the box. I see plenty of goals both ways in the match engine so it's working. Just have to make sure the SV and DLP both have high enough work rate and pace to get back if they counter

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
      @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker  2 месяца назад +1

      Those could definitely work; between the two, I'd use a DM(S) since they're less likely to leave their position when you have the ball. The DLP will follow the ball around when you're in possession. (of course, if you have an amazing DLP then that could be the role)
      I think the Shadow Striker is an excellent option with the SV. Because the Shadow Striker will help with build up, but then get in front of goal. And then the SV(S) will fill in that space in the attacking midfield area

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
      @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker  3 месяца назад +1

      I think a lot of these roles and combos can come down to how you like play and your tactical preference, not necessarily that it's "play these two or lose". For me, I love to play two strikers (kinda like the tactic in this video) because I feel like single strikers can get marked out of the match. Even though there are a ton of ways to get your striker some help up front, it's a mental thing for me haha I just love two strikers. So yea, try these roles in formations you're comfortable with and see if you like them!

    How does a DLP(D) operate defensively compared to an Anchor? I'm using a DLP(D) beside a SV(A) in my current save due to not having a "True" defensive midfielder in my squad, but instead some great playmakers with decent enough Tackling/Positioning. Are the synergies between the roles still there?

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
      @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker  2 месяца назад +1

      Defenisvely they're pretty similar. They'll both sit in the DM area, offer a good body to help your defense, and won't chase down the ball too much. I would say the offensive synergy with a DLP and SV would be excellent because of the DLP's offensive capabilities. But there is one huge caveat: the DLP will follow the ball around (when you're in possession) to make himself available for a pass. This can mean, at times, there actually won't be anybody in the defensive midfield offering protection from a counter. This is why the Anchor is such a great pair with the SV, because as he pushes up, the Anchor will stay comfortably in the midfield area and stop counters.

    • @itzjoboy5782
