Great video as always! You are 1000% correct about needing width surrounding the enganche. In my experience, it’s far too easy for opposing DMs to mark him out of the game if you don’t stretch them out enough. I’d love to see the IFB next, it’s a role I’ve just started experimenting with with very interesting results

Riquelme 😆😜 no prizes for guessing who I support, but he was a class player, not many non Rovers fans will know how class he was, thats why hes a Rovers legend on FM, and born in Blackburn too, although Tugay is my fave Blackburn player of all time, id say he had a bit of Enganche in him as well, check his highlights to see if how class this guy was if anyone is unaware, I recently watched an ex West Ham pro (Mark Nobel) saying he was one of the best hes ever played against (plus every manager hes played under), he was that cool he would even have a smoke at half time, and obviously Alan Shearer the best striker ever. Anchor man pared up with segundo volante, enganche in the middle and the 2 forwards I mentiond. We made insane amount of goals, conceded also a lot but we got first in the league :)
See Trequartista as a "Full ON" creator with FREEEEE roam/dribble!!!! everywhere to create for your team/self. While Enganche is static ich.. Treq forcing players+ball towards him making space where he is not--> Enganche have made space on the sides because he forced players+ball into him centraly..thats why he`s (enganche) isnt a fan of more supermen joining him in the already crowded area. ( think of how many of ur players will end up in the middle (middle-third(golden zone)) and add the opposition players there (feks 2dm`s ) then it might be better playing a AP or Treq.. treq is more of a goaltreat than an AP and might not be where you need him allll the time. If you want your guy to dribble at your opponent then choose a Treq or a AP (A). Hence the Enganche will not look to dribble but make final passes at speed! Hope i got this right and it helps you in your thoughts on the roles. :D have a happy day :)
The reply from Kristoffer was spot on, and a very good breakdown! Just to add, the Treq will be seen out on the wings as well as being a striker. I would consider the Enganche a better passer, but he doesn't move as much and stays in one area/isn't as goal scoring focused
Love the video, however when you did the role comparison to the adv playmaker i was hoping you would compare all the focus roles in the AMC slot Im assuming the treq ks different in thw fact his role doesnt just look to make plays but also score goals. This is how i see treqs anyways.
I'm saving the other playmakers for a big comparison video. I chose the AP since they have the same attribute distribution. Yea, the two biggest differences are the goal scoring prowess of the Treq and the fact that you'll see them out on the wings

I never used an enganche before but after seeing this I might consider him more often in a 4231. Would you reckon that whenever they are marked out of the game, you could simply switch them to an AP so they can move away from the marker?
Sometimes I like that he stays in the midfield; he keeps a DM or midfielder occupied, so other play roles can flourish. But yea, if there just not doing anything, you can switch to an AP to get him the ball more. The trade off is you'd lose those quick pass and fast goal opportunities
Can you share why "Move Into Channels" is bad for this role? I always have a tough time differing "Moves Into Channels" and the "Roaming" trait. In my mind, both are to create space for the player. But I could be wrong about that. Honestly, I'd love a video comparing these two traits and player orders, and how best to use each.
I've been doing some early work on how player traits/instructions and all that good stuff. Probably won't be soon, but take comfort in that one may be on the way! As for your question, the Enganche does their best work in the center of the attacking midfielder area, so the player trait "move into the channels" would be telling him to go somewhere where he isn't effective. And Moves Into Channels would be more focused on going into the halfspace; Roam From Position (I believe off the top of my head) they'll be going forward, backwards, etc..
Yea the attacking midfielder has more freedom since he doesn't have those instructions. He's also not a playmaker though, meaning he doesn't have that "focus role" ability
The Regista is one of the most roaming; he'll go wherever to find the ball. I think the RPM may be the most aggressive, he loves to win the ball for himself and then dribble it up the field. Most playmakers need someone to win the ball for him
Yeah go with the Regista ( thats a joke for the books ) Im having great "help" defensivly by a "Roaming Playmaker" in that im thinking him as a (hahaha lets quote "OUR MAN" TheDeepLyingPlaymaker and say a Playmaking BoxToBox midfielder :P) a BoxToBox will also do he`s "playmaking skills (if its in his range(attributes)) then just mindsett switch/place a forced playmaking upon that (ballmagnet) and the BoxToBox is a "hustler" so by that defenition the roaming playmaker is also a "hustler" (trying to regain the ball so he himself can make plays for ur team, thats why he has "roam" because he might leave position to chase the ball or to make himself available for a pass. The DLP i think comes secund in case of defending (maybe 1 if u use him on (D) in that he holds his position. But if u mean like playmaker as in a 10. role then ...hmm...if a Playmaker by "NAME" ill get an AP..i think he closes the ball more (up the field)rather than passing angles..that the Enganche (making himself available for a pass, to make a pass!) and Trequartista(making himself available to..."lets just say ATTACK as a broad" does. But in the AM role i would use a Shadow Striker( hmm..i was always of the impression that this is the KANE, ALI..that DELE ALI was a SS) or a AM (S) if just for the defending part of it i think :P + BTW Regista would be the LEAST defensive role :P but you might just been having a laugh with that one :D Have a good one Sir :D

I think it's a versatile role; In my possession tactic video, I used the Enganche and it was a shorter passing/lower tempo one. So you can use it in all kinds of styles! 🙌

Great video as always. But I have noticed that when it changes to the fm screen, the brightness increases. It's not too much, and I don't think many people will notice it, but I am just going to say this incase you want to do something about it. I didn't mean to complain if it sounded like I was.🥲

I try to make the videos with a low sensory threshold (no extraneous loud sounds, etc...) so I'll look into it. thanks again

Definition of an enganche is Jari Litmanen. Guy played so long he couldn’t move so he just stood behind strikers and threaded passes until he retired

While playing as West Ham I kept giving this to Paqueta but now I might toy with Ward-Prowse with his passing and lack of dribbling
