    This role is one of my favourites, that fashioned old school striker with clinical finishing, that guy that only touch 3 balls hole game and score twice, it always remembered me to Hernan Crespo or Filippo Inzaghi.
    If you let me add one note: I always look for a finishing trait for a poacher, places shot, shoot with power, likes to lob the keeper, tries first times shot (always depending on the attributes that he has).

      @khemrajbudha7955 Месяц назад +4

      The football world will never truly appreciate 'space' until it directly leads to some game results, and his teammates must be engaged and successful. For instance, Messi's iconic F9 performance against Real Madrid (6-2) is hailed as a masterpiece. However, if his teammates like Henry, Eto'o, Xavi, Iniesta, or Alves hadn't capitalized on the space he created with their movement, shot, or goal, his space would be dismissed as useless. Creating space is a team effort, not solely a player's metric. Consequently, accurately measuring this aspect is challenging, even with technology. Different observers may have varying opinions on whether created space was good or useless.

    Love this video. Yes, exactly, poacher is not (mainly) goalscorer, he is space creator. Additionally if you have strong, tall, good header as a poacher. Oh my.. He will always has double cover in the box so CMa or IFa will have planty of time and space to score. If left with only one man marking him, he will in nearly every match score a header. His Forward runs also create time and space for APs. Number of key passes increase. I am definitely in love in poacher.
    One thing to add: with poacher there have to be someone who can hold the ball in midflied. If not, you will be forced to play only on wings. Ball needs to be play in the middle to use poacher abilities to create space in 100%.
    Thanks for great video! ❤

      The way the Poacher draws attention from a center back is unparalled; even in some of those clips, he essentially took out back-3 formations by himself.

      Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed the videos!!
      The Target Forward video is in the works, but maybe not right away! In the mean time, the biggest difference between the TF and the DLF is the creativity. They will both drop deep to receive passes, but a TF will just play simple passes to teammates. Whereas a DLF is expected to create chances as well.
      The trade off is that, like you alluded to, the TF is much more dominant in the box since they're usually more physical (so winning headers, holding off defenders, etc...)

    What do you think of a poacher & Treq in AMC combo

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
      @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker  Месяц назад +1

      I don't think I've used the two with a lot of regularity, but my guess is they would be great together! Treq will have a lot of space to roam in the AM area (or wherever you place him). You'd probably need some hard working midfielders to cover behind them since they won't do a ton defensively

      @@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker sick mate. Thanks for the reply, and for all the videos. They really are top quality and even though I’ve got nigh on 2000 hours on FM23 (it being my first game in the series) they’ve really helped my understanding of the in-game tactics and, by proxy, football as a whole.
      Moreover, I think your continued engagement with your commenters as your channel has grown is really admirable.

      Ooo now that's a tough one haha. In the short term, maybe go to shorter passing? That could help with your teammates playing passes that keep him onside. In the long term, I would train him on the "likes to beat offside trap" player trait

      @@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker Oh, thanks 4 the reply. I asked cuz I'm using a DLF with an attack duty, and in some matches, my team is not performing well. When I saw your video, I thought I could use a poacher when I need to attack.

      @@S3oowd No problem! I love a 4141 so I've experienced the same sorts of issues, don't fret haha. I noticed when I would use a DLF, he would drop to receive the ball, but nobody would be pressuring the defensive backline (since in a 4141 the wingers are sitting further back). This allow the defense to compress your team, since no one is making those aggressive forward runs.
      Sometimes a Poacher can help, if only to keep that defensive backline honest

    • @Brazio20
      @Brazio20 Месяц назад

      @@S3oowddepends on what kind of system you play in my opinion. Poacher doesn't care about being involved in the build up, unlike AF and PF, so using him in a system that's leaning towards possession style isn't a good idea.
