Awesome video. Came from Nikon so when I see how you do the setting change PLUS explain what it does, it makes so much sense what I am doing with my camera and WHERE to find it 🙂 Thank you I will love to see YOU create a video where you explaining the whole camera in detail like you did here on this video. Thank you so much. Best video i've seen so far
Thanks for putting this together, that was super helpful. In video mode I went to the yellow setup menu, operation customize, REC with shutter to on (default is off). This allows me to start and stop recording with the shutter button and that allowed me to turn the video record button into another custom button.
The BEST video I found so useful since I’m coming to Sony from a Nikon D500. This gave me a good start. Now if I could only figure out how to format the SD card. :)
The display quality greys out when you set display frame rate to high because you can't have both on high at the same time. The higher frame rate slightly degrades the display image quality (but neither affects the actual photo).
Auto power off temp high is the absolute most important one for video. I can’t even count how many people are complaining about overheating when they didn’t do research about the camera.
As someone who has just upgraded from A7iii to A7iv, I find your video very helpful and informative, thank you. BTW, is there any way to include the option "AF with/without shutter" into the Function menu? Been trying but could not find a way to do it.
That is the reason why I didnt turn it on. I had a feeling that it would somehow damage the shutter but I wasnt so sure to include in the video. Thank you for your insight!
@@funnybeingme this is just my pure guessing, but if the camera gets any kind of impact while the shutter is closed I think that impact might affect the alignment of the shutter doors. Thats just my guess 😅
@@funnybeingme believe it or not, the shutter is more fragile than the sensor. Sensor is protected by glass and very easy to clean if you get dust in there. No real reason to have this option on but if you do, gotta be super careful and not damage the shutter
Weird, I don’t have the option Accessibility in the setup menu. Since there is no firmware update…whats going on here haha. Can you tell me which options are in that menu?
hello michael. i am at 2:08 on your tutorial. for some reason the "different set for still/mv" is greyed out and i get an error message "this operation or setting not available as follows : shoot mode : memory recall" could you please help me? thank you. I'm setting this on sony a7iv
hello, I don't understand how to set the shutter speed and aperture separately..Iso understood...I switched from Canon to this camera and for some reason when I rotate the shutter speed or aperture wheel (I set them up in the menu), they both change...How to make sure that the aperture does not change when the shutter speed increases
What is your must change setting in your camera?
By far the best Sony A7IV setup video out right now!
Thank you sir 🙏🏼

Ahhhhh good to know! Thank you for sharing~

Yep. But I have heard ppl saying theirs still over heat even with the setting changed. So far I dont have any problems.
@@MichaelYoungKim I’m sure some settings will push the camera of course, it’s probably using XAVCS-I in 60p
Most likely 🙂
Very good one.
Thank you very much!
This is a small detail that is very important.

D-Range Optimizer now off. Thank you.
You are welcome sir. Thank you for watching.

I havent look in to it for function menu. But i have another way of utilizing af/mf on one of my custom buttons. It will be in the future video~
Great content 👍🏽
Thank you 🙏🏼
Advise: Don't turn on the dust protection option. With time you will damage the shutter. Use it sparingly or not at all.

Curious how it will damage the shutter?

@@MichaelYoungKim is this under the anti dust function ?

That means you have your dial set to either 1,2,3. I think you have to get out of that mode.

Seems like your camera is in one of the priority modes. Try to change your exposure setting to Manual.
How did you record the sony screen like that?
I used atomos ninja v 😉
How do you turn off the godawful beeping when you press record?
Menu ---> Setup ---> 10. Sound Option ---> Audio Signals ---> OFF. Hopefully this helps~
🔥💯💯💯
Change settings GOGOGO!
there a setting we can do 4k 60 no crop?
Lol we wish 🥲
