Gentleman if it’s your only watch, PRX if it’s part of a collection. The Gentleman is more versatile but the PRX is more unique and exciting. Both are great for the price!

After trying both watches in-store today, it was hands-down no competition that the Gentleman felt like the better watch. It feels better constructed, the dial looks much crisper and better finished. And it fits my 7 inch wrist without any overhang. I even prefer the bracelet as it feels more classic and less fad-driven. The silicone balance spring sealed the deal. I bought the Gentleman and I'm glad I didn't just buy a PRX without trying both first.

Well I've had the PRX 80 Powermatic with the blue waffle dial for about 2 weeks now. It's a really cool, beautiful watch: I like its style! The Gentleman looks great, perhaps just a little too conservative and almost a bit boring for my taste. I find myself admiring the little details on the PRX.
One thing you didn't mention, though you can see it on the video, is that even though the PRX does not have micro adjustment, it does have two half links that can help get a good fit. I had to use one on mine. Worth mentioning......

Even though the PRX has no silicon hairspring, it features the new Nivachron hairspring which is made from an Titanium alloy and offers very good magnetic resistance.
The PRX has the same regulating system as the Gentleman and can be regulated to pretty much the same accuracy as the gentlemen (my PRX runs at stable +3 seconds per day).
Also, what should have been mentioned here is that both bracelets have “half links”.

That’s why you buy it to get that Nautilus/Royal Oak look and feel without the price or worry! The gentleman is a very nice watch but there is nothing that special for me to drop money on it! I purchased the blue leather strap for 2 reasons, I want to keep the steel bracelet scratch free and secondly I want to reduce the larger look of the integrated steel bracelet. With the 35mm variant now available as an option, I’m highly considering getting one. Tried it and it wears and looks perfect on my wrist size. These are two great watches, with amazing dials, and movements for the money. I don't love their bracelets though. Obviously, still really good for the money. That said I think the Tissot T-Sport Gent-Xl Swissmatic has fallen under the radar. It is a great everyday watch that is only about $500. It has a fairly plain, but cool dial, with a design inspired by a race car's speedometer. The case polishing, bracelet and clasp are amazing though. Every time I wear that watch I am amazed at how great they are, especially when compared to other much more expensive watches in my collection. Off topic, but I am picking up a Baume and Mercier Riviera today. Super excited!

I really like both of these, and the Powermatic 80 being a real advantage. The omission of micro adjustments is a miss for both. As for the Gentleman, I dislike "Silicium" on the dial. (Google tells me it is a skin care product 😳) Reminds me of the American car manufacturers slapping "Turbo" and "Euro" on their cars in the '70s. A bit of a deal breaker for me.

"The omission of micro adjustments is a miss for both" - I Agree, but leather band solves it. "As for the Gentleman, I dislike "Silicium" on the dial". - I Agree, but not a deal braker for me, since this material is a synonim of performance and not as common in this price range. Regards,

I checked out the black dial quartz version to see what it would be size wise before the auto came out and the brushed black dial looked fantastic. Would have bought it on the spot if I wasn't waiting on the auto. The 70's styling just can't be beat IMO and Tissot did a really good job with this watch.

I am struggling between the Gentlemen and the PRX. One minute its the former and then I change to the latter. Fairly certain that my choice will be the blue dial PRX as its simplicity has me gravitating back to it every time.

bought the Gentleman to celebrate my bachelor Degree, silver dial with bracelet. Incredible feeling for the price. blue dial was too vivid for my taste ( is way more vivid than the one on the hamilton jazzmaster or the prx, you cannot spot that on video) and the reflective part of the indexes under light gave me enough "bling". Also got myself really lucky with the movement it runs around +- 1s a day even though it doesn't have any chronograph certification

I have the Tissot Gentleman - it’s a stunning watch with a killer movement - punches way, way above it’s weight - this is easily a $1500 watch in reality so at the asking price it’s a total bargain - has Rolex Oyster Perpetual vibes at a fraction of the price - Tag Heuer Carrera 3 hands vibes too at 1/3 the price - if you’re in the market for a quality made and well finished all rounder the Gentleman is unbeatable

I tried them both on ... the PRX was just too chunky for my taste. The Gentleman, especially if you go with the quartz movement, is quite thin, and it looks like it costs five times what you actually pay for it. A leather strap makes it the perfect accessory to a sports jacket, while on a bracelet it's perfectly at home with any dress suit. Pair it with a field or dive "weekend watch" and you're all set. (In my case, a Hamilton Khaki mechanical; total cost for both (!) was under $1,000.)

I have had a Gentleman Powermatic 80 for a year and a half. It is a really good watch. Mine has been running at +2 sec/day, and it feels very solid and well made. Indeed, it is the heaviest watch that I own. The only disappointment is that it does not have a screw down crown, which would significantly improve its water resistance and make it a real GADA watch like an Oyster Perpetual or an Aqua Terra but for a fraction of the price.

Had the pleasure to see these two in person, and from my point of view and personal opinion, for you to get your money's worth, I would say the gentleman at the 700 dollar price point is worth it to me the prx is nice but has a cheaper feel to it and I had higher hopes for the prx and underestimated the gentleman. I have a 7 inch wrist, so both look good but gentleman is the one. Another factor to consider is that the gentleman is exactly the same as a Bulova watch I currently own the only difference is the color of the face, so it's definitely something for me to think before purchase. Great review!

I owned the blue and black Gentleman. Overall a good watch that I sold after I was unable to get a good fit. In my opinion the lack of micro adjustments was the deal killer for me. The high polished center links also were scratch magnets. Also IMO, not really a sports watch, more of a dress watch. I have not bought the PRX based solely on the lack of micro adjustments. (This is also way I have not bought an Aqua Terra) I have lost 40#, so watch fit me completely differently than they did just last year. I did try on the Aqua Terra recently and still prefer the SM 300 buckle. If the PRX had micro adjustments, I'll own both the auto and the quartz.

So convincing and your language never fails. Could listen for hours. Concerning the two watches, I think the PRX is the winner for my personal taste. I bought it with a black dial; it's an excellent reference to the Rolex Oyster Quartz. It looks so good in real life. Super shiny but never tacky. I guess Tissot did this series to get more attention. I live in Germany, and Tissot always seems like that watch you get from your family for graduation. The Gentleman, to me, is such a kind of watch.

Spot on with your wrist size estimates for the PRX. I have a very small wrist at 150mm and those fixed end links stick out just a bit too far. If my wrist was 5-10 mm larger the PRX would be a perfect fit. There are aftermarket strap options coming so I might reconsider the PRX as strap options become available

A great video Teddy! Two of my current favourite dare I say it 'value' Swiss watches currently in production. A very good compare and contrast view of these two in my opinion from the underrated Tissot brand. I do have the PRX PM80 in blue dial form and for the price it is a bargain. It's slim and on my 7" wrist works perfectly with a case /bracelet finish that others at this price should take note. The PRX more expensive sister (or brother) the Gentleman is also a well executed watch with the Si balance spring being more anti magnetic as you say and may justify the difference in price. I also have the older PR100 that I guess was the model to be replaced by the Gentleman that I'm more than happy with. My PRX and PR100 in daily use are single digit second accuracy each day. I do prefer the date at the 6 on my PR100 compared to both but the PRX gets away with it at 3 a tad better probably because of the modern retro 70's design and pressed waffle dial.
