I drove one at a company I worked for. We needed parts out of a trailer out back. It also was a yard truck. I never drove a tractor trailer before. We hooked it up and got the trailer up to the loading dock door. Was a trick to back up to dock. The thing ran great and started up right off even for the fact it had not run in a year. Nothing like this will ever be built again. By the way that's a beautiful property.

I drove one like this about 50 yrs ago I hauled sand from t he pit about15 miles to a cement plant 5 days a week for about 6mos then went and got a job driving over the road but that old B model was an experience.

I drove a single axel B 61 tractor in 1973 for a Trailer Leasing Company. Pick up and delivery of Leased Storage and Road Trailers , that old girl could pull anything. It's nice to see one still running.

As a kid , I loved the B61 Mack . The nearest I got to driving a duplex brownie box , 9 speed like this one , was at a junkyard I worked part time in during the late ‘70’s in my high school years . Made one compound shift and put the truck back before too may workers noticed . I would have gotten crucified . It was a Mack model U600 used for hauling the crushed cars from Staten Island , n.y. yard to a Belleville New Jersey yard recycler . I miss those days .
That’s where I got some of my car edumacation, and a bunch of salvaged hurst completion plus shifters and other manual trans conversion parts that are now long gone . Too bad though , would have come in handy for some good survivor cars like you come across .

👍👌👏 Simply fantastic! Maaaan, I absolutely love this truck! It runs good, breaks and sounds good, healthy and strong. Perfect vehicle to tow a (goose neck) camper trailer.
This old vehicle definitely deserves some TLC. I would bet that TwinStick Garage or J.C. Smith projects would love to own this old rig.
Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health to all of you.

Love the old twin sticks. I’ve put many miles on a 5x4. I worked for a structure moving company one summer, and he had a triple stick 6x4x3. Wide open in 1-1-1 it would only move 65 feet per hour. We used it to move brick, rock, and tall structures to keep them from splitting.

End673, Endt673, Endt675, Endt675, were all the same bore and stroke and displaced 672 cubic inches. The End 711 displaced 707 cubic inches but it wasn't as good of an engine, and they never made cylinder liners and heads for it that allowed use of a fire ring, so turbocharging them never worked out well

B body Mack = Choice look for a shop truck. Should freshen the bearings up and drop a turbo on it :-) Pull a sky scraper down the road lol New paint with some choice pin stripes... Beotch'n! Wheel can be repaired... get a power steering rig on it. :-) resto-mod shop truck.

B63s were a much heavier spec and I believe they all had factory power steering as well

It completely ruins the original feel in a lot of cases though. I'd restore it mechanically, but never paint it.
