What is your favorite LulzBot tool head? What do you use it for?

I only know the one I like the least, the one which came with my Taz 5 Lulzbot. That's why I'm here. I like your website, Mr. MatterHacker, although the taz toolhead page could be a bit clearer on which toolhead will fit what lulzbot.

So I got a SL toolhead swapped in, everything is good, fans run, hotend heats up, but the gears just refuse to extrude. Any advice?
I've not found a single thing about this and am bashing my head against the proverbial wall trying to find out why the extruder gear won't run.

I've heard that running PLA in the Taz machines tends to bunch up in the toolhead. I think I've done that to my machine as well, it consistently under-extrudes. Gotta learn how to dig it out.

I think thats way too expensive for what it is cause you have to upgrade it to get good results

The Octopus Gamer no you dont. The Taz 6 is a great printer out of the box.

    Way. Too. Expensive.

At over $2k, one shouldn't need to 'upgrade' a lulzbot.

Ricky W The $2500 one has a build space of 270 270 225mm. That’s a joke. I’d rather have a cr10s for big builds, a10m for dual extruded and maybe another adapted with a big .8/1mm nozzle all for less than half the base machine here.

You dont ‘need’ to. Great reliable machine out of the box. No fiddling with bed levelling before prints, and a huge print area.

I agree. I'm a teacher. My school system bought 6 lulzbots. All of them produced prints, but not for more than a couple of years, and not without a LOT of tinkering. My schools computer maintenance guy went out and bought a CR-10 for 1/5th the price and he is getting better prints with no experience!
Amazon reviews are terrible for the lulzbots. And Lulzbot itself doesn't offer as much info on fixing the problem as MatterHakers does!
