    I haven't seen any other printer unboxings/setup videos but it looks like LulzBot put a hell of a lot of work into making it as easy as possible to set up. Nice work from them.

    Nice review. That is one solid machine, love the auto bed leveling auto nozzle clean. I don't like how the filament has to be loaded, think that is a bit fiddly.

    Damn YOU! I just spent $2500 not including shipping. ;) I love the work you do and seeing the other versions of the TAZ printers kicking out incredible prints I couldn't help myself. I think it was the little improvements that pushed my wallet over the top. Now I can proceed on my GladOS robot build. Keep up the great work.

    It looked to me like it was kind of wobbly when pressing buttons or any time you touched upper part of the X Carriage area. Does this effect printing at all? Do you need to add braces?

    Cool that they put the auto levelling sensors on a bigger printer.
    I kinda wish they would make a printer with the form factor of an Ultimaker or something to avoid dust falling on the metal rods and stuff as well as keeping everything warm around the print, not just the bed, which might help avoiding layer splits.

    A very useful and informative video which makes me feel I should have a 3D printer even more than I did before! I'm also thinking of a LulzBot as you make many prints using yours and you rarely seem to have failures. I agree with the concept of printing from SD card as I imagine Windows is the weak link in the process, especially for longer prints. I'm not sure yet if the Mini would be best or possibly the Taz. Thanks for a great introduction to the Taz 6 and for all your fascinating videos which I watch avidly and not without some jealousy for your skill and enthusiasm when making your stunning creations.

    I'm printing again now and it feels so friggin good to! They're teaching CAD skills in school now and with the emergence of 3d printers in homes it's gonna be a really nice skillset. It's great to be able to model and print whatever fits on your build plate

    Love how easy this 3D printer looks to set up and use. Any cheaper alternatives that are similar for people that dont want to speed $2500 for a small hobby i thinking at least 1000 and down that not much but is to some/alot of people.

      +CitrusDruidxCDx Like James said get the mini but if you're like me and still want a bigger volume you can get cheaper taz 3,4, 5 models second hand. A company called ITW or ITWorks I think, just google them, they re sell refurbished models.

    • @Magmafrost13
      @Magmafrost13 8 лет назад

      3D printers are expensive, that's something you need to understand. Most also aren't beginner friendly. If you want a cheap 3D printer, then you can't get a good 3D printer. Really its probably not a great time to buy one, seeing as they're getting cheaper every year, and the technology is still evolving. If you think you can handle a less than user friendly 3D printer, and do things like level the bed yourself, your best bet is probably an older TAZ model, second hand if you can find one. If not, wait for the technology to get cheaper, or bleed yourself dry. If you buy a cheap 3D printer, you'll get a cheap 3D printer.

    Looked like there was a big glob of filament when it first started to print the object?

    • @ojsh_
      @ojsh_ 8 лет назад

      can happen - sometimes just a bit of filament is extruded as hot end heats up to print temp.. I usually watch as heating & pull off any excess with the tweezers just before reaches temp & starts - then prints clean (lulzbot mini) - even if you miss it, not usually an issue as the excess bit is just sitting on the pre-print outline

      If you can't afford a new one there are companies that sell second hand lulzbots, like I-T-Works which are from the same city where lulzbots are made. PLUS it's entirely open source, so you could build one yourself if you want to save a bit of money. I bought a taz 3 second hand from itworks and it's been brilliant.

      so worth it to have a printer that Just Works.. you honestly do get what you pay for with 3D printers. Buy cheap, and be prepared to spend A LOT of time pulling your hair out... and then money trying to improve the thing.. and then binning it all and buying a lulzbot.
