Thank you!
Thank you.
1:09:34 I’m sorry but this fugue is absolutely nuts - it has one of the craziest fugue subjects I’ve ever heard.
Я искренне благодарна всем поклонникам и почитателям творчества моего отца... светлая ему память❤
WOW, really? Highest respect and praise for Kapustin's works, he is absolutely one of the greatest composers in the contemporary
I am finally convinced that Kapustin is one of the most important composers of all time.
tell all your friends. I have been for years =)
Most incompetent*
@@Whatismusic123 please keep your egotistical delusions off of my comments.
Yes indeed, he stands beside all the great music masters.
@@NicolasEjzenberg he stands under them, all of them spitting on his back.
Only a few seconds in and kapustin already slaps the stank face on you. bruh this is DIRTYYYY (in a good way)

1:17:54 this passage is unbelievably ingenious. This canon and stretto is just too good.
6:52 Maybe the coolest chord I've ever heard
@MusicSmith2 Yeah, nice catch. The voicing really puts it over.
E "split 3rd" chord with a sharp 4th
Fantastic music! For me is a sort of successor of Shostakovich Preludes and fugues.
Finally I'll try to watch all of this before it's taken down. Thank you so much
hes dead so i dont think he can copystrike this

You're the MVP
Very nice Tombeau de Couperin reference from 13:45 onward!
Wow, and Children's Corner (in a funhouse mirror) at 25:57... I love all those little tips of the hat.

“He’s just noodling” 😂😂😂🤣
Exuberante extraordinário genial. Rachmaninof ficaria boquiaberto.
as someone used to baroque style fugues, these fugue subjects give me nightmares
As steeped as I am in the Well-Tempered Clavier, I feel just the opposite. A sort of jubilation.
Some of the Shostakovich fugues will haunt you forever if that’s the case lol
@@ShaunakDesaiPiano i bet they will .. if i ever get there! any recommendations for a first listen of a shostakovich fugue?
@@williamedmuntyote183 I’ll give you first two listens, as it were:
ruclips.net/video/a-1T8yOs6TM/видео.html possibly the most un-Shostakovich Shostakovich piece - the most diatonic fugue in existence (following the prelude of course).
ruclips.net/video/3lydTIHUvTk/видео.html appropriate for the festive season, a prelude whose theme resembles We Wish You A Merry Christmas, and a fugue which is essentially chromatic mayhem, including a heck of a lot of time signature changes. Yes, a fugue with variable time signatures.
@@ShaunakDesaiPiano wowies what a treat to listen to! that second fugue subject is especially insane, holey moley, thanks for sharing!
Prelude 19 is so pretty
Does anyone know whether acciaccaturas (grace notes with a slash through the note stem) in Kapustin's music are played ON the beat (it sounds like that to me...)?
If you're asking because of the first prelude, I don't think it's a case of the acciacaturas being on or before the beat. It's more about what I call "lazy grace notes". They are basically stronger and more leaned on (or towards them) than the beat note, kind of opposite to how you would play an acciacatura in say Czerny. That's at least how I think about them.
Hey, anybody got this score? There are a lot of good pieces in there
42:16 Is this a Thelonious Monk Reference????
Based!
Wonderful. How have I not noticed these preludes and fugues before? I wonder if the person who composed the theme music for 'The Simpsons' was inspired by the first Prelude and Fugue. There is more than just a passing acknowledgement present there...
Un genio
