@@insanelyme938 thats what i meant by similar caliber. I can pick up ammo from a similar gun with a different magazine while using the L85a2 with a drum.
@@DurzoBlunts I see... Well, to be clear caliber means the size of a bullet (very generally). So, for example, you wouldn't be able to pick up a G36's mag for your L85, even though they both use 5.56x45mm caliber ammo. As for what you meant, yes you can pick up magazines compatible with your gun regardless of your initial loadout. So you can pick up drums for the L85 even if you started with mags, or pick up an extended mag for your gun even if you didn't select those at loadout. Awesome little detail :)
Josh Boucher "thats what I meant by similar caliber" you realize the m249 saw and the m4 both fire the same caliber right? Infact it's not just the same caliber but the same cartridge you could take rounds out of the saw belt load them into an m4 mah and be fine both fire the 5.56x45 NATO
Playing Devil’s Advocate for a second: Modern Warfare 2019 does this. Obviously it’s nowhere near as detailed as this but they do make a point that you can only reload from weapons that take the same caliber as the one you’re using. It’s made less impressive by the fact that there’s only like four or five different types of ammo in the entire game, but still.
I think this is what a lot of people kinda miss with realism in games. Realistic elements like those open up options in gameplay not available in less realistic games. This can loop around and become restrictive in some games that go full simulator, hence while I'm probably going to stay in Ace Combat instead of DCS, but it's why I'm not going to go all the way down to Star Fox. These "little details" give you control over elements you otherwise would engage with only passively if they were present at all, it's not just so I can pretend I'm in the army. When I first heard of Insurgency it was through STAR_ who plays mostly just typical team-based FPS like, back at that time at least, TF2. He painted a very different picture of this game than this does.
I get this randomly on my recommendeds and I thought "I upgraded my PC since the last time I checked this game out, I want to buy it..." only to see it's on a week long free trial!

Is there online coop? Are there choosable voiclines? Is there a fire support system? I love both, Tarkov because of the survival, sandstorm because of the action, I have both and they're my main online games, I even stopped other games for these, just got Tarkov though... Edited my dyslexia...
FYI: If you like realistic weapon manipulation, Hotdogs horseshoes and Hand grenades is your current best choice, requires VR, but it’s damn realistic, to the point of having different chamber pressure for different munitions, scope manipulation such as windage, elevation, zero and so on, pump action shotguns require you to press the bolt release to rack without pressing the trigger first, changing barrel length will change the accuracy, velocity and drop of your projectile, really awesome attention to details
@Hee Lee audio in tarkov is terrible, very disappointing. However it is supposedly getting steam audio next patch/patch after, which should make things better.

@@winchester3751 How so? Aren't all the weapons named after their real life counterparts? The HK416 for example wouldn't be allowed to have that name since HK is a trademark from... well H&K.
Having acutally played the game I can tell you that behind that wall there is a piece of metal and that is what the bullets are hitting as the weapon he is using has a lot of penetration. The bullet holes can be seen at multiple points in the video as well.
There are bullet decals in the games, its just that 4.6x30mm isnt exactly a large round. Its a fast penetrating round that probably wouldnt leave a really large hole.

Honestly this is the first shooter that actually disturbed me due to the voice acting and gore. I've seen some GSWs in my day as an EMT, and the entry wounds are pretty realistic, that coupled with the exit wound splatters and the fact that some people don't die after being dropped, they're just left to bleed out. That was pretty disturbing but then some of them moan and whimper while dying which really fucked me up.
Barzo madAM seyisin sırtlanı ok it has a pickup truck with a heavy machine gun on the back,. I think the game really wouldn’t be the same if everybody was running around in gunships and speedin about on motorbikes and blasting away in MBT’s. I think it would lessen the realism factor tbh. Also, the map sizes and map design is smaller and more claustrophobic than battlefield’s massive, open maps, so I think a gun-pickup truck is more than enough. I would enjoy destructible environments though, would make the RPG-7 more op, xd
The game has so many amazing aspects yet the SLOW AF RELOAD TIMES really make it a little annoying to play. It's in both Fury and Saving Private Ryan
I think my favorite detail in this game is that the developers modeled the fact that light travels faster than sound, so you see the distant explosion before you hear it. I don't know why this is as satisfying as it is.
5:00 speed of sound =331+0.6*temperature (meter per second)
The temperature in meter lol.
Speed is in m/s dude, what an awful format for an equation.
@@Blastgun1 the notation he's using means that its 331.06*temperature*meter, its just a different way to express the same formula.
LeCoolPepe That's not what he's saying you dumb fuck.
LeCoolPepe m/s though
@@Blastgun1 Shit you are stupid
And remember guys : "Okay, Rrrrrrrrreeeeeloading !"
The game is amazing, the voice lines, not so much.
Yeah I hate that voice/line
Agree
The voice line's amazing 👌
I disagree. I think the voice lines are great. They are very situational and will change if you are under fire or you are replying to another person's.
@@ATPH99PS3 misunderstanding there, the situational voice lines (ie : varies under fire/not engaging ennemies) are great but the *voice acting* isn't.
Also you can pickup ammo from weapons on ground but only from your caliber.
Only if the magazines are compatible... You can't pickup an m249's box for your m4.
You call staged reloads a little detail, I call it an extremely important mechanic. Same for dumping mags...
This is one of my favorite FPS games as of recently!

May be not as a service game... but i love having it in my steam. Its a good fps to play casually!
Loved the A-10 edit xD
“Don’t shoot! Let ‘me burn!”

@@UnjustCrow
Why?
Why does every FPS game has to be reacted by people who served in the army?
You know some civies have had just as much experience and/or trauma as a soldier has had.
Also, im sure the devs of this game went through some extensive testing to get things right.
Plus like in every game, it has got to have gameplay balances so yeah. That a thing.

Absolutely amazing, good video thank you.
Christ, I can’t tell whether it’s impressive that Insurgency has this or whether this or every other shooter on the market is just lazy. Shit like this bugs the hell out of me when it’s absent from other games, and in this day and age I’d expect this level of attention to detail from a lot of AAA studios.

Awesome video dude! This game is truly above the fray in so many ways. Battlefield and Call of Duty could really learn a thing or 2 (or 30) from insurgency sandstorm.
Battlefield has all of these details and more
deathwish11120 maybe staged reloads, but battlefield 4 started putting it in a couple months after launch, I noticed a lot of things changed since beta

@@deathwish-gg8wz can you lean in battlefield? Do you have a magazine system, or is it a pool of bullets you magically spawn magazines from? Are headshots instakills with every weapon? Can you creak a door partially open? Is there dismemberment AT ALL in battlefield? Are there active ragdoll bleedout animations? Is there friendly fire? Are there suppression mechanics? Is there online coop? Are there choosable voiclines? Is there a fire support system?

Yes queen yes
Details like this feel more next gen than shiny graphics
FYI: If you like realistic weapon manipulation, Hotdogs horseshoes and Hand grenades is your current best choice, requires VR, but it’s damn realistic, to the point of having different chamber pressure for different munitions, scope manipulation such as windage, elevation, zero and so on, pump action shotguns require you to press the bolt release to rack without pressing the trigger first, changing barrel length will change the accuracy, velocity and drop of your projectile, really awesome attention to details
Tarkov got all those things too if you appreciate it
Deangelo Granados true! And even more! EFT best game ever!
@Hee Lee audio in tarkov is terrible, very disappointing. However it is supposedly getting steam audio next patch/patch after, which should make things better.
Tarkov is a completely different game than sandstorm though,
except weapons license tho.
Sandstrom got all of them except for Glock 17 (which they use the civilian version rn). Tarkov only got licenses for Russian weapons
@@winchester3751 How so? Aren't all the weapons named after their real life counterparts? The HK416 for example wouldn't be allowed to have that name since HK is a trademark from... well H&K.

0:45 Has unique realistic reloading mag features.
Also,no bullet decals on walls and it sounds like the wall is made out of steel or iron.
Having acutally played the game I can tell you that behind that wall there is a piece of metal and that is what the bullets are hitting as the weapon he is using has a lot of penetration. The bullet holes can be seen at multiple points in the video as well.
Mistake there isnt metal behind the wall dude. Just stone
@@ChickentNug boot up the training level and see for yourself.

There are bullet decals in the games, its just that 4.6x30mm isnt exactly a large round.

A lot of the reload stuff has been in VR FPS games for a while, but this is still nice to see in a normal shooter
AK10 doesn't exist, it can't hurt you
**AK10:** 2:36
Honestly this is the first shooter that actually disturbed me due to the voice acting and gore. I've seen some GSWs in my day as an EMT, and the entry wounds are pretty realistic, that coupled with the exit wound splatters and the fact that some people don't die after being dropped, they're just left to bleed out. That was pretty disturbing but then some of them moan and whimper while dying which really fucked me up.
I wish I could play it on ps4 🥺
Coming next year to Xbox and PS4
having magazines instead of a pool of bullets isn't a little detail, its a part of the core gameplay.
Just imagine this game has vehicles and desructable objects like battlefield 😳😳😳😳
Woah I love the a-10 sound effects, those are great!
I like how if you incapacitate someone instead of directly killing them they roll around in pain before bleeding out. Gruesome but awesome detail

(This is an example, the scar is one of the least annoying reloads in the game).
