He needs to summon a party of Darius, Draven, Talon and Sion with his ult, he IS the general after all, and we need some unbalanced bullshit on the champion that is only there to be lore accurate *cough* Akshan's fucking revive gun *cough.* Oh and make him invulnerable during the cast because why not. Slap a 3 hit max health damage passive on that boy too. There you go. Peak champion design.
What he really needs is true damage and invulnerability to really round out his kit.

In wild rift, his w doesnt reach as far as pc swain, but it DOES critically strike immobilized champs.

I literally haven't seen a naafiri in game since her release week, outside of the occasional times I play it in arena, and I've played matches everywhere from bronze to plat
Classic, Ksante getting his 2000th rework. Naafiri rework incoming too. It's needed sure, but don't you think it's kind of ridiculous that they need to reiterate on newer champions- I think Ksante had to get changes the year of his release. It speaks volumes at the issues with Riot's champion design team.
That's because Phreak and August get to make all the decisions on the team now, with one balancing around his own playstyle and the other just making everything a 200 years broken mess with a longer passive skill description than nasus's entire kit. The guy who designed Ksante got laid off.

I don't think it is that of a problem. They try new things, and new things in a game design as old as a MOBA are... Difficult to balance and to get it to work. When you have the same game that started with pretty basic champions it get weirds to suddenly add new things. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. We keep mentioning K'sante, Viego or Zeri, but Lilia, Vex, Yone, Sylas, Akshan, Milio, Hwei, and so on didn't have any problem besides fixing a couple of scalings.
@@Dalauan_Sparrow Lmao, imagine getting fired for helping to create a champion that clearly went through multiple stages of approval before being released. Initially, he was weak on the PBE and wasn't considered overpowered. The real mistake was buffing him too quickly, followed by a series of poor decisions. After the rework, he just turned into a total disaster.

Exactly, it’s unfair to criticize them for introducing champions with unique kits that offer new ways to play, especially given that the game has been around for 15 years as u said. It's great that they continue to innovate. Regarding K'sante, I truly believe that with proper adjustments and a streamlined kit, he could have been an outstanding, fun, and well-balanced champion. Hopefully, his upcoming rework will reflect this new direction, considering the recent changes to his design since the last patch.
I would like them to revert the changes they made to him, when E could pull all of his allies' CC and his ult had to drain in order to explode. he had so many changes that little by little he changed his style of play
Swain was awesome when he collected souls of his enemies not as useless hp stacks, but as a resource used by his ult. He could collect up to 5 souls and couldn't use ult without them but it had 0 mana cost. R2 explosion damage was dependent on the number of souls and at 5 stacks it hit like a truck. I remember many 1vs2 outplays when enemy jungler ganked me when I had 0 mana and found out why you don't fuck around Swain with 5 stacks. Good times
I think that was a good change, not only was it very janky cuz you'd have to click on them, but it also solidified him as a support CCbot. If they bring that part of his kit back they'll need to take some power away from him somewhere else because it has the potential to be really strong on infinite ulti swain.
some things I thought they should change, to at least make playing swain more interesting beyond early/mid powerlevel peak and statchecking people before they buy grievous/MR/% health damage
- make his scaling passive more relevant. give him something that scales with either the bonus HP granted from his passive, or the number of stacks themselves. right now it's just a gimmick that doesn't really go anywhere, champs with % health damage and grievous can usually just stand in your ultimate and statcheck you.
- infinite ultimate is a cool concept but executed poorly on his last rework. I would like them to put more power into Demonflare, and rework the healing to make it less braindead overall. I'd make it so that proccing your passive while in Demon form heals you for like x% of bonus HP from Ravenous Flock, while removing the Healing over Time for enemies taking damage from the aura. That way the healing can be stronger, because it would be dependent on Swain's CDs and ability to hit spells. The ultimate should remain infinite and Demonflare should have more casts. Doesn't need to be infinite casts, maybe like 2 or 3 more. Either make it so getting Ravenous stacks while in ult also partly refreshes the cooldown of future Demonflare casts, or make it so the DoT zone charges up a meter for successive recasts. Also, make it so that successive recasts deal more damage than the last, since Swain is meant to excel in longer fights. They could also make it so that the first cast deals less damage than it does currently since he'll be able to use it more, they could make the amount of Demonflare casts/damage dealt scale with his Passive stacks, etc etc etc there's a lot to work with here
Problem is they demolished his damage a lot, this version is way better, with cc and all, but they got rid of passive damage , q scaling got greatlyu reduced, and r damage was just finished

Im praying they dont change him WAY too much. I love my current swain playstyle of tank swain. Its fun being an immortal god dealing chip damage to the enemies while my team cleans up. The only thing I agree they should really change is E to make it less obvious and harder to dodge. Praying they try to make Swain a tank character and not go down the full mage route.

@@augustheimdal1443 Swain has very poor scaling. In the lategame, he can only apply spell effects, and basically tickles enemies health bars. It usually takes a total AP ratio of 400-500% or higher in order to oneshot something at lvl 18. Swains Q+R2 only has a 100% ap ratio combined, and those are his only reliable damage, because of how easy his E is to dodge. Swain is a very bad lategame champion, which is why he is allowed to have a decent midgame and earlygame. He certainly doesnt oneshot anyone. He would need to have around 30 kills in the midgame in order to oneshot someone.

The problem with swain is that Riot doesn’t know where to put him. He was suppose to be drain tank in the top lane. Now with the nerfs after nerfs, they dragged him to support and kept him. Became OP in support and got nerfs. Currently swain is played in 3 roles which is like… why. What is his primary lane…

@@johnbretty3729for a champ to be balanced you need a baseline of what hes supposed to be able to do and what he will be placed against, its not good for a champ to be good ńowhere but ok anywhere, those champs that can be picked in diff lanes still have a primary one
@@johnbretty3729 Why not? When a champion is played in 3 lanes, means hes broken (in a good way) and can be flexed good. Swain is played in 3 lanes bc Riot doesn't let him have an identity, hes too weak for most top laners, like, fight a Darius, Riven, Tryndamere, Jax, Sett etc. in close range, you will regret it.
Then again on mid lane, mages outrange him hard, can clear waves better than he does bc they don't need to be close to it and assassins have an easy way with Swain.
On Support as well as the other ones, ask yourself, why would you play him support? What makes him good? Right, nothing, he has CC, so do a lot of others. His damage is bad compared to other mage supports aswell.

same. I miss swain old abilities but I don't mind the new one's except they really couldn't fit beatrice in. I kinda wish they made his q just actually him firing Beatrice's essence out with it forming back on his shoulder during the cooldown. Or they could made his w something related to Beatrice.
As a swain main I think maxing the E detonate when it comes in contact with W would be so sick. It would give more skill expression and maybe make W a real spell

I miss original Swain kit. He was a master in zoning and control in skirmishes and had a decent side line, specially in buying time. I understand that the old R was unhealthy, but all his other skills were just fine and way more rewarding to what his kit proposed than it is now
Arcane change patch. Possibly Swain will make an appearance in S2.

They didn't need to delete old swain imo. They should just bring it back. He was probably one of the most unique Champs with his toggle ultimate. His new ultimate feels too much like any other empowered v ultimate imo.
Also his basic abilities don't really mesh. He didn't need a long range sight ability thats on a high cd lol.
I wish they kept him as DoT battle mage instead of turning him into yet another burst mage.
My thoughts on old sion lol. Don't think he had the highest pick rate, but I felt that kit was so much more fun.

Swains current ultimate was basically Maokais 1st reworked ultimate. Maokai is currently on his 3rd ultimate.

I just started playing Swain mid and I'm having a lot of fun, I will be very mad if they remove him from midlane. Also hope they still allow him to play botlane because it is very nice having a flex pick for when I get offroled

They should make his E ground targeted, like his old root, but with the pull/recast mechanic.
Remember old swain? You use your bird and it slows enemies? I liked that swain!
- They could make his passive more reliable, maybe gaining shards out of every ability, but lesser health per shard.
- Shards heal should be scaling with health and ap, not a flat amount.
- Also that E change where you can choose the travel range is very good, adding more versatility to his kit.
- His ult show be a toggle, ripping shards out of the enemies, instead of a heal scaling with ap.

Swain to me feels like a jack of all trades master of none, his damage is there but not significant, his defensive stats are there but not comparable to a tank he just kinda has a bit of everything but excels at not really much..
So thats why he’s both in the teaser for aurora and the constellation for LoR, no wonder
they prob gonna make him a full on stacking champ with stack scaling on his abilities, like asol or smolder

Old Swain was awsome, his ult was so unique... Since his q was changed to easy farm creeps pre 6 there were no needs for rework...
I’m probably in the minority but I used to really enjoy swain back when his ult was 10 seconds and his demonflare was a NUKE if you succ enough. I really enjoyed the risk reward and the options, whereas current demonflare is “just use it as soon as it’s up/use it to confirm E”. I felt like I had to think about “ok, I could stay in ult and try to stay alive for my team, OR I could end my ult and try to make a fight wining play with the huge demonflare” and when you nuked 2-4 people it was soooo satisfying and often won the fight, BUT doing that is hella risky, since it took you out of ult form. I’m a Sett/Yone main, so I love explosions and huge damage, and I’m not sure if the actual swain players want that for their champ, but when I used to play a lotta swain, my favorite parts about him were the demonflare nuke, pulling someone in point blank and shotgunning them, and the ult visually looked badass

Make him a REAL BATTLE MAGE. Not a mix of tank, mage, burst
I played old Swain and new Swain and old Swain had more consequential abilities while New Swain has more sustain spread through his kit and has a bit of burst in the early game. Old Swain felt more cohesive and was built around his ult better and was a genuine raid boss drain tank mage while new swains ult feels gimped for no reason.
put more power in his ult and add more CC to his W so it feels more satisfying to land.
another idea is to make his W an Anti-Invis/Camo/Stealth nuke that does more damage to enemies who are Invis/Camo/Stealth if you cast on them.
Make E to come back where you casted instead of max range. Give some bonuses on specific passive thresholds, like infinite ultimate on 30 stacks, E recast at 10 stacks, w slow on 20 stacks

As a swain opt i think they should make him more enjoyable to play without relying on the ult. He feels very one dimensional by just building burn and going tanky 3 or 4th item. He has burst but if you actually go burst items you're kinda trolling, unless you are too far ahead where it doesn't matter what you build. To me the E is fine probably cuz im used to it but ive always wished it would extend with flash. It feels very clunky having to flash then throw the E where they can just dodge, dash out, or flash out themselves. Im excited to see what they cook up hopefully they dont burn the kitchen 💀
One major change would be his E would grab on first contact rather than on its way back. This would be op
i think one of the biggest problems is that the design of his kit makes him really item reliant. His strength doesnt come innately from his abilities, but rather outside sources. For example, he pretty much cant function without buying a rylais.
The good old days of July 2022 when your passive was stacking 5 crows and after charging your ult you fired a burst of DMG. or Q which worked as a chain discharge on wave clear. yes, it was great to play mid, but you can't give 1vs9 today.

A potential rework swain could go through is something like kayle's passive, since he stacks and gets more health it could possibly give him another stat that be in tenacity or more ap. The higher the level the more and better stats he has. Atleast in wr hes not really good in early game and that he only becomes decent in late mid to late game.
His pull could be in a cone, his eye bigger, I'd say his first ability is fine the way it is since the cooldown is pretty short, but Mabey his ult has two bursts or every 5-7 secounds, you could nerf damage from the burst but give the chance to constantly use it more.
Swain's W should also be looked at. A sloth on Valium could dodge it while only paying half attention and even if he doesn't dodge it, the damage is pathetic with absolute shit scaling. On top of that, it's CD is super high. Riot said that this was because it was "a vision tool" but Lux's E gives vision, slows, can be detonated on command, has a CD that is _10 seconds less_ at all ranks AND it hits like a truck early and has 80% scaling! I mean come on Riot.
Nafiri needs a complete rework, both visual and on her kit, she needs to look more like "the thing" and less like a plushie squad

I feel as if his passive is overlooked. Its a great passive but all it does is give him hp. So maybe he can get some hp scalings in his kit. Like the dmg in his ult soley scales on ap. So it makes building full ap more rewarding on dmg. But the healing can scale on his hp so building tankier items makes it more rewarding on his survivability but then he deals less innitial damage but can even out since he can live longer. Or maybe give him some armor and mr in his passive too. Like every 100 stacks he gets 1 armor and mr. But i feel like they can make it so that if he goes support, giving him the hp scaling on abilities can help him be more utility in support and the ap scaling can be for mid

A Very creative and Interesting way of modifying Swain, would be to make him Merge his Old Play style with his New One.
Imagine this, his Abilities Change between his Ultimate Form and Regular Form, and the focus of each "Kit" is to emphasize different aspects of his Character.
In his regular form, he could have his Old Q but Modernized in a way that isn't more enjoyable to use and less frustrating to get hit by;
His E could become his Old E, but still, somewhat modernized to today's standards.
THEN, when he's in his Ultimate Form he would get the Abilities he has Now, which much more fit the Style of Play his Current Ultimate Incentivizes.
Also, a Good Change to his current E would be to make it so it can be Recast while in Mid Air to slow down, charge up, and then Explode in a Larger Radius than it normally does.
It would make it more Difficult to dodge but more Skill Base to know when to use such a function, as doing so at the wrong time could make the Ability be easily evaded and telegraphed.
W should be changed to a static eye sending bolts to anyone nearby within 700 range and keep the same mechanics in long range. E should detonate on hit like Xeraths orb. Passive needs to regen mana and health like it used to. Ultimate should be toggable since hitting R and everyone runs away feels bad(remove R2). Also he sees what the crows sees.. so give him vision where they sit on tress and ledges
As a Swain enjoyer here and there, he is unfortunately afflicted by two issues at the same time. First being he has been powercrept and then some. The silly amount of MS and dashes everyone gets makes it hard to actually land his E and W unless its comboed off of someone. Second being that when he is strong he is legitimately oppressive, thanks to his R mainly, giving him high dps drain tank ability that would put Vladimir to shame. I would normally be inclined to say they could allocate power from his R elsewhere then make some tuning changes, but his R is kind of the iconic ability and what Swain is known most for.
Though at the very least they could in the mean time revert the passive change and let him click anyone to tug and soul steal.
Swain works much better as a control mage midlane/apc pick than as a support. They need to make him more balanced in those roles because he just doesn't fit a good support niche. He doesn't have as much range/burst damage as xerath or lux, he doesn't have as much CC as naut, leona, or ali, and the only healing he provides is on himself. I would say he is most similar to brand, who provides tons of AoE burn damage over time with his abilities, except swain has to be on the frontlines to accomplish this, putting him in danger of being focused much earlier. He is powerful in 2v2s at level 6 and has a slightly cheaper build path than most mages, but that's about it as he starts falling off after a few items.
Speaking of his build, Swain's design philosophy also makes it unclear how to effectively build him. He is a drain tank mage, but because his ratios are so low, it is a waste of gold to go full AP. So, most Swain players opt for a hybrid build, starting with Liandry and Rylai's, then building situationally from there, usually zhonya's into tank items like abyssal or randuin's. The consequence of this however, is that Swain never leans too far into either role, which ultimately makes him weaker late game. Late game Swain isn't tanky enough to withstand burst/dps and he doesn't deal enough damage before dying inside a team fight even if you have close to 100 stacks. And because his healing amount scales with his AP you end up being way squishier by building for it, thus making the bonus healing effectively useless. I think this is where Swain starts to feel unsatisfying. I am curious if and how it will be addressed.
I really disagree with the part where his E is hard to land, if you've played him enough you get used to it and it's not only easy to land but also satisfying to use ability no reason to change it at all
revert his E into Nevermove again and have his R be a toggle again. make his W similar to wild rift where it critically strikes with immobilized champions and you're good to go.
No. Toggle diminishes the value of ultimate
It will be fun, if they will give him his hp and mana regen from passive and half stacks health to his ult

I think Swain kit is correct now, just needs a bit more balance.
They could focus on unidirectional champs like warwick or trundle to make them more viable in higher ranks and not just change their stats to fit them in low elo and let them as cheeser champs for high elo to hard snowball or lose.
And even though trundle has some usage as anti tank frontline, warwick is just compleatly useless
Just revert Swain R to old swain. Make passive able to pull again (instead of E). This would push him back to build ROA Tear and Liandrys.

Here's my idea. Make him like Gnar. In his empowered state he's the big demon guy that shoots red electricity out of his finger tips, pulls enemies towards him and consumes their health. But then in his regular form he doesn't have any of those abilities. Instead he's a proper general. His W just sends Ravens around the map for vision and his q and e lets him command minions and buff his allies.
Maybe make it so he has to drop below a certain health threshold before his Raum powers are unleashed.
Oh yes please they should make him even more useless in lane without his ult. That will surely help

His whole shtick in lor is he damages stunned units.
This i think would be a logistically nightmare to balance.... But i think they should make his W stun, and his E instead of the pull thing, give him back his bird, but instead of what it was before, you can instead cast it to be placed next to stunned enemy and deal damage and a slow that way, kind of like before i guess... If you change the ult back to a toggle, have the ult empower the birds.. Q's range can then be extended and if the target is stunned or slowed, do that ripping out and draw thing his E currently does.
I'd scale back the globalness of his W to make this work though, but he'd be a artillery control mage this way, instead of whatever control tank thing he is now. You'd basically be doing damage from a far aslong as you hit that W.
Like a lot of people have said in a a lot of different place, I feel like the champ needs focus. If Riot picks a lane and sticks with it I’ll be happier than trying to keep multiple playstyles just to please the community.
I was a fan of the higher burst, pre-midscope Swain, but going that route isn’t the most important to me. At the end of the day I think the champ feels like he needs a stronger steroid and less burn reliance. His ult barely feels like a transformation these days, since you have no health scaling, and hitting max Conq stacks with BFT on five enemies shouldn’t be the first time you live the Grand General dream in an average game.
I hope they make him more of a tank. I find it really unsatisfying to use ult on 5 enemies, and then die anyway because i have to have all ap items to be viable. He should be nigh unkillable if 5 people are in his ult range

What I want, eh? Bring back his passive ability to pull any CC'd enemy by right clicking them, then change his E, so it works like old Swain's W: a circle that snares anyone in it.

i think they should give him the ability to recast his e, that will solve a lot of the issues without removing too much counterplay/outplay potential

I think his E is the more frustrating part of his kit. He wants to be a battlemage with close range damage so his E becomes the hardest part the higher the elo you go. Hopefully that’s the main mechanic they are looking to adjust while the rest of his kit remains similar.
I have no clue who asked for a Swain revamp but it certainly wasn't me.
Turn him pack into the old drain tank.
Currently his abilities all do different things with no synergy. His Q wants enemies to be close to him yet his E wants them to be further so they don't dodge it.
His R promotes an All in playstyle which makes W useless
his W makes him play as a control mage which he is not.

Old swain Tyrant was so cool and with his special evil voice. His rework looks cool on the first sight. But he feels just not strong enough. By the way. Support swain my ass, swain Top was always a good to go before his rework. I still hope find its place. (Still hope fiora get fiora)

He is supposed to be a genius tactician with demonic powers, who looks far less dangerous than is.
Meanwhile ingame he's a basically a drive-by snack and a roadkill for any champ with mobility.
That should not be. He should be the one that shuts down fast and furious "main character syndrome" champs,
forcing the enemy to think many steps ahead lest they fall into his trap and suffer a slow, but sure end!
