I think the golden order queen should be Marika and the raya lucaria pawn be the burger kings with swords (lazuli sorcerers?), but otherwise seems good!

Ironically Marika makes much more sense as the King, since she stays in one place and doesn't really do anything directly the whole game. Radagon and Godfrey better fill the role of Queen mechanically. Also I would have loved to see General Radhan as the Knight. It would just be really funny.
Yeah, Elden Ring's world is very matriarchal. Not just the Golden Order, but also for Caria. It's always the women who hold the power, and their husbands can come and go without the structure collapsing. At least it's not hard to flip that in actual play.
Imagine an entirely different cast for the black pieces, showing off the more questionably motivated characters. Night’s cavalry, mohg, stone golems, albinaurics, grafted scions, etc. a fun set of each side
Nights cavalry are quite clearly aligned with the erdtree if im not mistaken. Perhaps the cast of Carian or Gelmir characters would be more fitting. Ancient dragons could also be candidates.
Spoiler warning- Maybe they could be DLC people? Rooks are furnace golems, knights could be putrescent knight, dancing lion, or Gaius, bishop is Ymir, pawns are gravebirds, king is Prime Radahn + Miquella and queen is St. Trina or Rellana.

Why not take it a step further? Since most rememberance characters have their own factions, why not create complete different sets of different colors (i.e. Radahn's color is orange, while Malenia's is pink, Rennala could be deep blue, etc.)? Since most of those factions share the design for soldiers they could easily fill out the pawn positions. You could even have the named knights or characters for each faction become their bishops, knights, or rooks.

I think that the roles of the king and Queen should switch in this game, as godfrey would be the one going out to wage war and can be replace , while Marika is literally the heart of the order and you would lose if she is gone
true also because chess based off of historical medieval monarchies uses a patriarchal basis so the king is the most important piece, whilst in Elden Ring the golden order is a matriarchal society with Queen Marika in the center

@@QVegterFor the Carian faction, using Graven Masses as Rooks and Red Wolves as Knights is definitely an inspired choice. Basic Glintstone sorcerers as Bishops feels too basic, however, and the scholar children don’t have much in the way of dynamic poses. I’d instead propose Battlemages or Crystallians as Bishops and the Marionettes (perhaps a group of them) as pawns. For the Erdtree Faction IMO keep the Tree Sentinels as Knight pieces and the Warrior Jars as pawns from the video, as they’re too iconic. It also leaves the Leyndell Knights for other potential sets, like a Morgott or Godwyn set. On that topic, a proposed Haligtree set: Pawns: Cleanrot Knights Knights: Albanauric Archers (On Wolf Steed) Bishops: Rot Kindred (Posed doing their annoying projectile attack) Rooks: Putrid Avatars (Posed differently to the Avatars on the Erdtree set, different colouration) King: Miquella (Classic child form, don’t know yet if the DLC gives him a new one) Queen: Malenia (Base form, but with the wings of her Goddess form)

Hey! Really love this! I bought this and printed and painted but they sadly they don't fit on a regular chess board. In your link you say 2.5" but tournament chess boards are 2.25" squares. So just 2 pieces of feedback. 1) scale the size down to 2.2" 2) the bishop could be brother cowryn or gold mask. The turtle looks really weird on a chess board cause bishops usually aren't small pieces.
I am in awe. As A 3D modeller and 3D Printer myself, I must say you did a damn of a good job. And printing it on FDM? Insane. I was expecting you to pint it from Resin the whole video. You picked great characters for that dude. I love it. If you would want to go a little bit harder, you could design a second set to like... have two unique sets of chess which is something a lot of those thematic sets do. Anyway, amazing work.
@@GuidoC-Design its doable. But difficult. A) you could get this from a multimaterial printer if the model would be made with the differently colored parts in account. I personally do not know how its done, but printing in multiple colors is a thing. B) you could get a inkjet 3D printer that prints from white filament that gets painted when going through nozzle. C) for the exact rendered look, you should print the figures on resin printer, get an airbrush with very good chrome colors like Alclad chrome or smthn and then get some flexible masking stuff like Silly Putty and really dig into the effort of painting the parts by hand.
What almost impresses me most (it's a tight race though because this whole project is REALLY impressive) is the fact that the higher detail "photos" of the statues you keep showing before the actual real life prints are just renderings. The concept at the end as well just looks so realistic. Crazy good work!
The pieces would have been a lot closer to said render if he invested in some resin printing or sent them out to be printed instead of using FDM. My two cents.
Would be interesting to see a set for each major faction or a set based around a central Demigod as the king piece. Like the Redmanes, The Cleanrot Knights, Godrick's Gold Knights, Carians, etc. Just for example, Miquella as King, Melania as Queen, Cleanrot knights as knights, Putrid Avatar as rooks, Haligtree soldiers as pawns, and Servants of Rot for bishops.
Absolutely beautiful work, i'm charmed! You really nailed it with ornaments and poses and ground, and lion with Godfrey/Maliketh with Marika is additional super cool bit of dedication. Especially Maliketh, his presence symbolize that true power of the monarch in their loyal and powerful subjects, even if monarch is a god
You should definitely create different "Factions" with different characters for each set of pieces. Like the Carian royal family/ mages, Golden order/ Erdtree loyalists, Volcano manner/cult of blood, and the Redmanes/Halagtree loyalists.
The Hailgtree would really works well. King : Miquella Queen : Malenia, Blade of Miquella Bishop : Erdtree Avatar or Big Bubble blower Rook : Haligtree Knight Knight : Cleanrot Knight Pawns : Haligtree soldier
Also have to remember most of it is sped up and clipped together to make the video shorter. This project probably took many hours. But yea it's very inspiring.
Godfrey as the king, if you manage to bring him to your opponents last line, it become Hoarah Loux, Warrior (Detatch the lion and the axe), Have a moveset similar to a queen and a knight, and can move twice in a row.
@@AstroF0x the theme plays for piece that just moved then? OR, we can link the game state to stockfish, plays the theme when we gain huge advantages like check, checkmate, attacking other pieces or making a fork. It's kinda hype ngl
Also Miriel's hat looks a bit like the Pope's mitre, and the Pope is Bishop of Rome, so its definitely fitting. He is even called Turtle Pope by the player base
I think it's be super cool to have the white pieces to be from the lands between, and the black ones form the realm of shadow. I would pay good money for a chess board like that!
Consort Radahn with Miquella hugging him would be perfect.. err, king? Queen? I guess it would be logically to make Miquella king (prime piece) and Radahn as queen (most powerful piece and spouse of the previous one), but they must be one piece, as in bossfight. So i guess they can be king and Messmer the Impaler as queen.
This is amazing, BUT I reckon there's still more you can do with this concept, namely an opposition, this could be a number of differing factions but my vote would be towards Ranni's conspiracy. The pieces being: - Ranni as the queen - the Tarnished (in the Vyke or raging wolf set) as king - Blaidde as the Knight - War counsellor Iji as the Bishop due to his role as an advisor and Wiseman or Seluvis for the Aesthetic - Ranni's Rise as the Rook/Castle - a Black Knife Assassin as the Pawn Again love the video and the product of it!
This looks absolutely fantastic. You should do an NPC version of these pieces as the white set to play off against the black set of the bosses. Ranni as the Queen would be an example. There are plenty of NPCs.

I've seen other people make the suggestion for a Carian black set, but i'll make mine: Renalla as queen Radagon as king Loretta as knight Iji/Carian Trolls as rooks Miriel can still be bishop (all things can be conjoined, after all) And Aubinaurics as pawns
I think Godfrey would work better in the position of the "Queen". In lore is Marika pulling the strings and Godfrey doing all the fighting. Radagon to would work as "Queen"

Pawns should've been the crucible knights since they're godfrey's soldiers, plus there's 16 pawn in a chess board and according to elden ring's lore there is 16 crucible knight

Also, that's not really canon lore, it's only present in the closed test pre-launch and though there actually are 16 knights in the game, who's to say there weren't more🤷♀️ they were made to fight the dragons which was way, way before the game takes place

Your 3D modeling ability is impressive. As a subject for chess pieces, Elden Ring really seems like a perfect fit. A quick note: in almost all chess sets the King is the tallest piece, which makes recognizing which piece is which easier in custom sets like this one. In order of height it should be: King > Queen > Bishop > Knight > Rook > Pawn.

The set look extreme good, but the knight one seem a little fragile on the horse's back legs. Are you sure it wont break if you drop it accidently on the floor?
Don't know if you noticed, but some parts of the video have high frequency noises that make it very uncomfortable to watch if you can hear them, e.g., at 3:47. Insanely great work though.
You could have also substituted pieces if you wanted. 1. Bishop is actually an elephant. 2. Queen is actually a minister 3. The rook is not tower but a chariot instead. This where the original pieces to the game, and if you get stuck or confused to use it can always go to the basics. This way the minister can be radahn and malenia, the kings can be marika and renala,the chariot can be the running coffins,etc

We have no idea what the Gloam eyed queen looked like as far as im aware, Placidusax is the first Elden lord, so he also served the greater will like marika, and they never even met so how would they be enemies. The furnace golems are under the command of Messmer who also is on Marika's side. Crucible knights use aspects of the crucible but they follow Godfrey so that wouldn't work either.
Personally I think that the erd tree is perfect for the king position as traditionally a player relies on the kings survival and will play around making sure it remains safe
it's a 3D Render, thats why he said "concept of how it might look like" you could probably print those with a resin printer though but thats just a guess i don't have one xD
As much as i love Alexander, I do think it would have been better to have either the classic Lordsworn soldiers or various Tarnished as the pawns. But thematics aside, these all look amazing!
I’d love to see a part two where you make the dark pieces based around Ranni. It would fit the theme perfectly, as she represents the moon and the night, and she stands in direct opposition to queen Marika and her golden order. Ranni also has her own set of characters that could serve on her side. The king on the dark side of the board could even be the Tarnished, as seen on the Elden Ring cover, representing their rise to Elden Lord, challenging Godfrey.

Lorewise you should use Marika as the King and Godfrey as the Queen, because Marika is the Royalty representing the Greater Will, while Godfrey fights her battles. in the Lands Between. Similar to the King and Queen, but swapped.

I think that the roles of the king and Queen should switch in this game, as godfrey would be the one going out to wage war and can be replace , while Marika is literally the heart of the order and you would lose if she is gone

@@QVegterFor the Carian faction, using Graven Masses as Rooks and Red Wolves as Knights is definitely an inspired choice. Basic Glintstone sorcerers as Bishops feels too basic, however, and the scholar children don’t have much in the way of dynamic poses. I’d instead propose Battlemages or Crystallians as Bishops and the Marionettes (perhaps a group of them) as pawns.
For the Erdtree Faction IMO keep the Tree Sentinels as Knight pieces and the Warrior Jars as pawns from the video, as they’re too iconic. It also leaves the Leyndell Knights for other potential sets, like a Morgott or Godwyn set.
On that topic, a proposed Haligtree set:
Pawns: Cleanrot Knights
Knights: Albanauric Archers (On Wolf Steed)
Bishops: Rot Kindred (Posed doing their annoying projectile attack)

Hey! Really love this! I bought this and printed and painted but they sadly they don't fit on a regular chess board. In your link you say 2.5" but tournament chess boards are 2.25" squares.
So just 2 pieces of feedback.
1) scale the size down to 2.2"
2) the bishop could be brother cowryn or gold mask. The turtle looks really weird on a chess board cause bishops usually aren't small pieces.
I am in awe. As A 3D modeller and 3D Printer myself, I must say you did a damn of a good job. And printing it on FDM? Insane. I was expecting you to pint it from Resin the whole video. You picked great characters for that dude. I love it.
If you would want to go a little bit harder, you could design a second set to like... have two unique sets of chess which is something a lot of those thematic sets do.

@@GuidoC-Design its doable. But difficult.
A) you could get this from a multimaterial printer if the model would be made with the differently colored parts in account. I personally do not know how its done, but printing in multiple colors is a thing.
B) you could get a inkjet 3D printer that prints from white filament that gets painted when going through nozzle.
C) for the exact rendered look, you should print the figures on resin printer, get an airbrush with very good chrome colors like Alclad chrome or smthn and then get some flexible masking stuff like Silly Putty and really dig into the effort of painting the parts by hand.

What almost impresses me most (it's a tight race though because this whole project is REALLY impressive) is the fact that the higher detail "photos" of the statues you keep showing before the actual real life prints are just renderings. The concept at the end as well just looks so realistic. Crazy good work!
The pieces would have been a lot closer to said render if he invested in some resin printing or sent them out to be printed instead of using FDM. My two cents.

Would be interesting to see a set for each major faction or a set based around a central Demigod as the king piece. Like the Redmanes, The Cleanrot Knights, Godrick's Gold Knights, Carians, etc.
Just for example, Miquella as King, Melania as Queen, Cleanrot knights as knights, Putrid Avatar as rooks, Haligtree soldiers as pawns, and Servants of Rot for bishops.

Absolutely beautiful work, i'm charmed! You really nailed it with ornaments and poses and ground, and lion with Godfrey/Maliketh with Marika is additional super cool bit of dedication. Especially Maliketh, his presence symbolize that true power of the monarch in their loyal and powerful subjects, even if monarch is a god
You should definitely create different "Factions" with different characters for each set of pieces. Like the Carian royal family/ mages, Golden order/ Erdtree loyalists, Volcano manner/cult of blood, and the Redmanes/Halagtree loyalists.
The Hailgtree would really works well.
King : Miquella
Queen : Malenia, Blade of Miquella
Bishop : Erdtree Avatar or Big Bubble blower
Rook : Haligtree Knight
Knight : Cleanrot Knight

Also have to remember most of it is sped up and clipped together to make the video shorter. This project probably took many hours. But yea it's very inspiring.

Godfrey as the king, if you manage to bring him to your opponents last line, it become Hoarah Loux, Warrior (Detatch the lion and the axe), Have a moveset similar to a queen and a knight, and can move twice in a row.

If a an opponents piece is standing next to him he also has the ability to grab said piece and throw it at your opponent
The models, the process, and the final result are incredible. Bravo, these models are some of my favorite I have seen of these characters.

Consort Radahn with Miquella hugging him would be perfect.. err, king? Queen? I guess it would be logically to make Miquella king (prime piece) and Radahn as queen (most powerful piece and spouse of the previous one), but they must be one piece, as in bossfight. So i guess they can be king and Messmer the Impaler as queen.
This is sick. It would be also sick to see different areas getting their own color, like malenias area as a scarlet set, farum azule as a Grey set..

This is amazing, BUT I reckon there's still more you can do with this concept, namely an opposition, this could be a number of differing factions but my vote would be towards Ranni's conspiracy. The pieces being:
- Ranni as the queen
- the Tarnished (in the Vyke or raging wolf set) as king
- Blaidde as the Knight
- War counsellor Iji as the Bishop due to his role as an advisor and Wiseman or Seluvis for the Aesthetic
- Ranni's Rise as the Rook/Castle
- a Black Knife Assassin as the Pawn

This looks absolutely fantastic. You should do an NPC version of these pieces as the white set to play off against the black set of the bosses. Ranni as the Queen would be an example. There are plenty of NPCs.

Pawns should've been the crucible knights since they're godfrey's soldiers, plus there's 16 pawn in a chess board and according to elden ring's lore there is 16 crucible knight

Also, that's not really canon lore, it's only present in the closed test pre-launch and though there actually are 16 knights in the game, who's to say there weren't more🤷♀️ they were made to fight the dragons which was way, way before the game takes place

Bishop: Ranni sitting and Blaid on the side with her former empyrian body on the ground and her Dark Moon at her back shining!
Knight: Radhan on his Horse (First Version) but with Miquella on his shoulders while fighting Malenia on her Goddess Form but still on her clothes!
Rook: Rykard as Lord of Blasphemy as is, with his former look as a painting being destroyed on his lava aura, his Wife on the side and the weapon that can destroy him!
Pawn: Melina burning with her Gloam eye open and with Torrent only on her side, in the Middle is the Erdtree but on the other half is the Shadow Realm with Mesmer in the midst of plucking his eye out, already mid transforming to his Base form!

Your 3D modeling ability is impressive. As a subject for chess pieces, Elden Ring really seems like a perfect fit.
A quick note: in almost all chess sets the King is the tallest piece, which makes recognizing which piece is which easier in custom sets like this one. In order of height it should be: King > Queen > Bishop > Knight > Rook > Pawn.

The set look extreme good, but the knight one seem a little fragile on the horse's back legs. Are you sure it wont break if you drop it accidently on the floor?
I made the horse's legs and the sentinel's axe thicker after printing. So the print I'm showing off in the video is thinner than the final version. :)

You could have also substituted pieces if you wanted.
1. Bishop is actually an elephant.
2. Queen is actually a minister
3. The rook is not tower but a chariot instead.
This where the original pieces to the game, and if you get stuck or confused to use it can always go to the basics.
This way the minister can be radahn and malenia, the kings can be marika and renala,the chariot can be the running coffins,etc

We have no idea what the Gloam eyed queen looked like as far as im aware,
Placidusax is the first Elden lord, so he also served the greater will like marika, and they never even met so how would they be enemies.
The furnace golems are under the command of Messmer who also is on Marika's side.
Crucible knights use aspects of the crucible but they follow Godfrey so that wouldn't work either.
I bought this back when you first released it and im finally now able to pay my brother to print and paint them out for me. Im so excited.

I’d love to see a part two where you make the dark pieces based around Ranni. It would fit the theme perfectly, as she represents the moon and the night, and she stands in direct opposition to queen Marika and her golden order. Ranni also has her own set of characters that could serve on her side. The king on the dark side of the board could even be the Tarnished, as seen on the Elden Ring cover, representing their rise to Elden Lord, challenging Godfrey.

Lorewise you should use Marika as the King and Godfrey as the Queen, because Marika is the Royalty representing the Greater Will, while Godfrey fights her battles. in the Lands Between. Similar to the King and Queen, but swapped.
