22 Bolt Action Battle Report: 3 way battle in Belarus, USA vs Finnish vs Germany

- Another Bolt Action battle report this week and this time we have a fairly new player join is for a 3 way battle. Rick’s son Dan joins us in a battle seeing his US Rangers vs my Finnish Infantry vs Ricks German Grenadiers, each army at 750 points.
This week we set the scene in Belarus and a small hamlet occupying a cross roads, the objective, take and hold the objective and fight your way to victory!
In this Bolt Action battle report the Ministry of Miniatures Rick returns with a 759 point German force to take on my Finnish infantry and Dan Us Rangers as we battle it out to take command of the field.
We will be playing a customised scenario where each player scores 1 point for each unit dice taken, and then from turn three, by being in base contact and uncontested with the objective at the end of the turn that player is awarded points equal to the turn number!
Another great battle, fantastic board and a few laughs and banter along the way…
…but who will win, watch and see!

@@theministryofminiatures Tell him he is still behind me as I just added a 3D printed Sturmtiger to my Germans, now getting to play with it is another thing as I would have to almost have a 1250 to maybe 1500 points allowance to bring it out. I have 24 different vehicles for my Germans everything from the lowly Kettenkrad up to a Jagdtiger. My top 3 are my SD Kfz 251/21 Drilling, then my Brummbar, and finally my favorite WW II German vehicle the Jagdpanther. I do like how you film your games as it isn't hard to know exactly what is going on and when.
@@ChrisS-fh7zt very cool and how fantastic it must be to have such a collection of tanks and vehicles! I do like the German vehicles, but rarely get to play as Germany as my opponents often want to be them!

This battle report was super fun to watch and a great change from the usual 1v1.
Before the battle started I already had it in my mind my character would be taken out by Rick's tanks or nebelwerfer, I wasn't disappointed! Lol.

I know! I had the worst deployment zone having to either bunch up or be in the open with a 20 shot machine gun tank!
Still, was a fun game. I am also going to the NEC to help out on the Band of Brothers board next week, so will put you in that game too!

@@TheGreyWolf94 I'm starting to like the M-5 Stuart more and more as it has one big advantage over the earlier M-3's as I call the M-5 the mini Panther as all shots to the front is on a DV of 9 instead of 8. Plus Warlord has given it the recce rule just like the M-3's. So I buy all my US tanks as veteran and so be able to take the auto gyro gunsights. They are the only faction of my 4 that I do this with as all the others (German, Soviets and now Japanese I do regular). I just did Japanese this year as I won the Island Assault box at a local tournament.

The sniper kill on the mortar during the first round should’ve removed the mortar. All sniper kills are exceptional and any squad or support team dies on exceptional kills. Just for future games!
Good point… that actually would have changed the final score and outcome. Just goes to show!
Yes Sniper is always exceptional damage
Yes, I seemed to have forgotten that in the excitement of the opening battle!
But I ended up killed the mortar later in the battle so all was redeemed!
US adds up to less than 750pts... Also no Rangers can be played with your Stuart tank and extra MMGs ...which do remember has rivetted construction...
Thanks, it’s just a friendly game with Rick and his son, so as a new player happy to just field an army and get him rolling some dice!
I didn’t check the armies, but Rick is generally ok at the army selection so maybe one for him to think about in the future.
Curious why the Rangers can’t go with the M3 Stuart in a generic platoon?
The basic Stuart was phased out before Rangers were developed. Those extra MMGs couldn't be aimed properly and diverted crew attention from the main action, also took up to much space that was better utilised with more essential equipment.@@theministryofminiatures
I guess game dynamics are slightly different to real life, probably why it’s called Hollywood wargaming!… the generic platoon allows these to be taken together I believe, even though historically it’s not the case.
In any case I will let Rick see your comments about his list building 👍🏻
