Mobil 1 superior protection
Yes quality oil
I find that Mobil1 makes my engine run the smoothest and most efficient on my Lexus LS400 (‘98). When I needed to replace my valve cover gaskets at 200k miles, I found no burn marks or any kinds of residue, just shiny and clean metals. Absolutely great oil!
Absolutely i agree excited to see how far they go in the tournament
NATES INTERACTIVE AUTO same!
Today testing castrol vs liqui moly
Do you use Mobil 1 high mileage full synthetic or just Mobil 1 full synthetic?
@@eddiegarcia9689 if a car leaks no oil don't use high mileage it has agents to swell seals. If you go back to non high mileage you will have leaks as the seals shrink back. If a car doesn't burn or leak oil keep using the oil you are
My father in law was a engineer for Hess refinery , his job was to test oils and fuels . He said Mobil 1 was the best oil , and Sunoco gas was the best gasoline , his cars all lasted over 300,000 miles , including a old GMC Jimmy v6. That's impressive , he knows what he's talking about !
Thats great any information you can share is much appreciated.
No shell oil is best
What can we try next?
Hold on Nate I was gonna get mobil1 too then i saw posters comment about in law... Common logic tells me to follow the opinion of who still " IS " an engineer not " WAS ".
I believe shell gas is the best
Take care of the car and the car will take care of you. My 98 Accord is approaching 400k, 384k currently just over 90k when I got it. I did not want my first car to be a ricer, no offense, but I didn’t get much choice since it was a gift from my parents. 15 years, 300k and 3 other cars later my Accord’s heart is still beating strong with no signs of stopping. There through college, marriage and 2 kids. Thanks mom and dad it’s been a hell of a ride!
Thats a great story thanks for sharing
Amazing 🤙
What oil do you use?
Nate, you are getting better, video quality as well. Keep it going. Funny thing is that Mobil 1 is always the tester for all these oils on most of video comparison on RUclips, always good. Thanks for the video.
I really appreciate you and i promise to make the videos better i know i have been slow. Work has me 7 days a week but ill find a way because its people like you that make it all worth everything and i really love doing so.
The low volatility of mobil 1 would make it ideal for GDI turbo engines by reducing carbon build up on inlet valves. Less volatile means less oil vapours will go through the pcv system . Pretty simple but useful testing parameters. It seams logical that an oil that can take more heat will protect better too.
Great test man keep it up. Deserve way more subs.
Super tech is good for the price.
I agree what do you prefer?
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO I like shell Rotella gas oil. But is the cheapest synthetic better than a similarly priced conventional or synthetic blend? Like Quaker state Advanced durability/Pennzoil conventional vs supertech/Amazon vs generic gas station oil? Especially for older cars or people who cheap out on oil changes. 😂
I used Supertech high mileage full synthetic for about 13 years on and off with Valvoline high mileage full synthetic every 4000 miles i change it and the engine on my 2009 Mazda 6 is clean as a whistle and burns no oil 180,000 miles. I rather change my oil every 4000 miles my engine runs cleaner oil rather than dirty oil changed every 6000 or 8000 miles!
Sometimes heat can cause oil to become heavier in viscosity; that means the level of ease, and fluidity is lost, causing it to fail. Thanks! 👍
Dude your video is fucken amazing . I felt like I was watching a movie it was intense !! Thank you , you one my subscription
Would love to see redline vs Amsoil tested. Also would like to see cold and hot flow tests. Thanks man!
Thank you
Stay away from AMSoil. There's a very good reason the US Govt, military, and all hospitals, data centers, and prisons are prohibited from using AMSoil in their emergency generators.
Yes test oil after exposed to high temp because you only get new oil one time in your engine
I would like to see a test on actual rod and crank bearings under load and heat at the same time.
Yes i had thought on this
Me too!
Bag for the Buck - SUPER YECH AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!
so once again use a cheaper oil change it on a regular basis and do several hundred thousand miles with no problem
Yes so how to improve our test
You should apply the oil directly on to the containers. So when is Amsoil Signature vs Mobil 1 extended performance coming. I'll definitely show my friends this video 👍
I will try to make that video soon
Damn good test. I myself am a mobil 1 non synthetic user. Have never had issues with it.
Yes very good quality oil. What would make our test better?
Mobil1 is synthetic
There are mobil 1 conventional oils
Mobil makes non synthetic oil "Mobil 1" is synthetic
Yes true but many refer to brand as mobil 1 thanks
Nobody mentioned the following. API Specification SN is current specification and relates to the performance properties specified by API (American Petroleum Institute). While the 5W-20, 10W-30, specifies the weight. The W is for Winter, which means when the oil is cold, a 5W-20 will "behave" as a 5 weighted oil, but when hot will be a 20 weight. Additionally, ANY OIL COMPANY can add additives to PASS ANY TEST (emphasis added). Mobil products are specifically blended to be in balance and not "spiked" to pass a test.
Lastly, Mobil 1's base stock is a PAO (poly-alpha-olefin), which is so pure that a non-reactive product is introduced to get the additives to dissolve. Yet the PAO allows for flow properties that are incredible. Why do you think it's the fill for Mercedes AMG, Porsche, Aston Martin, Corvette, and McLaren.
I think Pennzoil's best oil uses a PAO base stock.
Never did like Royal Purple just for the fact that they use a dye to make it purple.
Yeah i understand what do you prefer?
Amsoil or Schaeffer.
That's why you work at jiffy lube
Right. Like why would I want to put an oil in my car that already looks dirty haha
Many feel this way what should we test next
Royal Purple has saved engines for me. I use 20w50 in my Indian Chief Vintage. Unbelievable difference!✌
Yep, best oil ever
Royal purple and have you watched the new royal purple video you will be glad to see it
Super tech is made by Warren
Premium product
It's made by citgo. Look at msds
It's SDS not msds lol
🌟A question to GearHeads, Will it hurt to move up a heavier weight ex: 5w20 to 5w30 for driving hotter areas like California? or just stay w. mfr recommended weight?
It won’t hurt but it also is not needed. Gear heads that believe it is needed are stuck back in the old days when oil wasn’t “multiviscosity.” There is no real need to do that anymore. But it is never a bad idea to just read your owners manual…ultimately the manufacturer knows exactly what your vehicle needs to run properly (more specifically the engine).
Test Castrol edge FST titanium, please ?
Good video 👍
Thanks so much i appreciate it
Me 2
Great

Hi Nate’s, how can I check my motor oil with Royal Purple with those BLACK COLOR when new, just like Moly Slip? Looks like grease! I check my dip stick often, just to make sure coloration and consumption, like everyone else?
ROYAL 👑 PURPLE ALL DAY GOT IN ON MY 2011 Silverado pushing 800 HP no issues trucks runs like a champ with it 💯🔥🔥
That oil sucks man royal purple is cheap made.
Great Job Again NATE!!! Maybe the next show could show which oils maintain oil viscosity at there native winter weight such as 0w30 5w30 10w30 and 30w from within there brand Mobil redline castrol Etc.
Please Nate don't ask me how though LOL!!!!!
Good idea what about flow speed threw oil pump made for testing not on a engine
Yes Nate that would be great!
Much appreciated keep me in mind for ideas
Try mixing them all together and see if it outperforms them individually. People always only put one kind of oil in, but even manufacturers say that all oils are compatible, so would you gain any advantage by running say 5 different brands of oil when you change it? I would probably never do it, but it would be kinda interesting.
You never know, anything is possible but I wouldnt do it
I have always been a Mobil1 guy for many years thinking the premium oil for the premium price is good insurance. However, another channel did more testing, including cold flow testing of these oils. With Warren Petroleum producing Supertech and various other oils with certification seals and independent laboratory tests, I now run Supertech in my Lincoln, Chrysler 300 and a friend's 2004 Monte Carlo that I did a head gasket job. When I chose the very cheap Supertech synthetic oil to flush the engine of the Monte Carlo after all of the water that was in the crankcase from a blown head gasket, I was very impressed with the Supertech oil. It cleaned that engine up nicely and that engine is running great with 165k miles on that 3.4. Royal Purple on the other hand, is just a royal pain in the wallet.
Yes i also perform cold flow testing and more but the other channel changed some of the oils during testing. They changed the type of pennzoil
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO thank you, for taking the time to inform consumers through your very interesting tests 👍
My local Walmart has raised the price of Mobil 1 20K 5 qt to the point where Royal Purple is only a couple of bucks more.
I stick with Mobil 1. Often on sale, consistently the same test results. SuperTech suppliers differ when prices go up, hence, some testers results here on RUclips of SuperTech's oils haven't been that great. Because different supplier, different oil.
Thanks for the information so what can we add to the next test
Supertech is a Warren oil company product ... that hasn't changed as far as I'm aware of
I've had a few ram trucks now and I've done mobil 1 in all of em, all of them got dodge tick but I don't think I can blame that on the oil
I have a Chrysler 200, the dodge tick gets on my nerves lol but the high mileage extended performance mobil 1 quiets it down a little bit. They gurantee 20,000 miles but I change every 5 to 7 thousand
Anything mopar ticks and pecks and slips and falls apart.Try GM. Or even Ford is better than dodge
Use Royal Purple 2-stroke in a snowmobile if you want it to run like shit and enjoy long walks home in the deep snow. Ive never had an engine run as bad as it does on royal purple.
Thanks for sharing your story with the NIA community
Agree completely. The purple stuff is trash
What do you prefer?
Did you get this idea from project farm?
No you can see my earliest tournament video
Yes he did.
Check my both our earliest tournament videos and this testing has been performed on RUclips for over 10 years. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment.
People may not have been around or forgot that back in the 1980s - 90s Toyota and Honda cars could go 300 - 500k miles on conventional oils. Does that have more to do with engine design and quality or the actual oil? IMO, Royal Purple is way over-rated and over-priced. Supertech synthetic has been rigorously tested by both the PQIA and Blackstone Lab and the results are excellent, and better than some Valvoline oils. Been using ST synth. and NAPA Gold filters for 20 years and never a problem. $22 for synth. oil and filter can't be beat.
Thanks for sharing your experience
Great information much appreciated
I bought a 2000 mustang 3.8 v6 for $500.The car maintenance was not keep up from the previous owner. The lifters would be clicking like you would expect on a car with 240 thousand miles.but better oils would quiet the clicking.i used supertech regular conventional and it was clicking right off the bat.I should have tryed the full synthetic. But I have sold the car since then with 270000 miles on it running much better than when i bouth it.
I appreciate you sharing with the NIA community
While Amsoil Sig Series is the best oil, I can't justify the cost considering how highly effective and affordable oils from major producers like Valvoline and Mobil One are. It's only a hairline better in most wear and performance tests and it's 3 times the cost. I'm looking at approx $150 for 9 quarts of Amsoil shipped to my door, I can get two 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 or Valvoline for approx $45 shipped to my door and they will do and excellent job. Even if I change my oil every 6 months as opposed to yearly recommended Amsoil oil change, it's still significantly cheaper and my engine will virtually run forever...
So do you think amsoil is best?
Stay away from AMSoil. There's a very good reason the US Govt, military, and all hospitals, data centers, and prisons are prohibited from using AMSoil in their emergency generators.
Excellent video!
I think super tech is great for people who change their oil regularly my opinion 3-5k miles
Mobile 1 has always been my number one ☝️ choice I have 3 old vehicles 🚗 and the motors are quite as a mouse 🐭
Check your oil dipstick after 2 weeks of using mobile 1 it will see blacker or darker, now super Tech still looks clean , but royal purple will always be purple
Someone has to make that walmart oil and it's not my grandfather in the barn lol
About 10 parent companies make all the oil sold in the US regardless of brand or price, it's more profitable just to give everyone the same thing than it would be to pay a someone to engineer a new type of oil for every 3rd party brand.
Yes mostly same base oils different additives
They all smell about the same those III oils
Lol
Amsoil Signature Series 100% Synthetic Motor Oil is the best.
We will soon find out and what would you like to see in the test
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO , a thermal test while the test vehicle is running with each tested motor oil. How hot does the engine get with each oil circulating through said engine. Condition and lasting characteristics of each applicable oil after 5,000 miles, 10,000 miles, 15,000 miles, 20,000 miles and at 25,000 miles. Also, cost effectiveness of Amsoil Signature Series 100% synthetic motor oil vs. all of the other competing motor oils for a 25,000 miles duration. Plus, why not a test applicable oil filters? I prefer K & N, WIX and Amsoil oil filters, a very important integral component in the aforementioned test. Right now, I have a Toyota Sienna Limited AWD, which has the oil capacity of 6.4 quarts of Amsoil Signature Series 100% synthetic motor oil and I use a K & N HP oil filter. The previously mentioned oil costs me around $11 per quart x 7 or $77, plus the K & N filter sets me back around $6, which yields $83 for 25,000 miles of driving or $16.60 per every 5,000 miles driven after the initial change over from a competitive brand to the Amsoil Signature Series 100% synthetic motor oil. Mind you, when a consumer does initially switch over from another brand of motor oil to the Amsoil Signature Series 100% synthetic motor oil, Amsoil does recommend the severe duty interval, which is 15,000 miles. Thank You for taking the time and spending your capital to help the masses decide for themselves.
Wow very helpful keep the information coming
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is the best
(blanket statement)
@@Rampant_Colt💩 👀BULLSHIT!
Yes mobil faired well nice touch with the used oil.
Thank you very much
Man please get the thermometer off the bottom of the pan or ur temps will be severely inaccurate just some feedback
I've worked for Decades with Boeing & USAF on jets as well as helicopters. The only lubricant both used was Mobil 1...
Wow, that's interesting. What aircraft types did you work with at Boeing?
Awesome thank you!!
Test penzoil, valvoline , and Castrol then the winner against mobile 1 then the winner of that against Amsoil! All of the above in synthetic!
Yes i have tested all products mentioned and will continue with your suggestions thank you
An honest test which was well done, Nate.
Finally a test without a dishonest personal agenda.
Thank you any suggestions would be great?
Thank you
NATES INTERACTIVE AUTO maybe next test you could take the winner of this one (Mobil 1) and test it against other synthetics like Amsoil, Redline and another top brand. Then put that winner against some others.
Yes i plan to a 16 oil elimination
Love the series
I appreciate you
Royal Purple did not impress me at all on a new engine ,it used a quart in less then 200 miles this was their so called high ZDP break in oil. I went back to the big V and I will never use that over hiped oil again.
Wait until you see this green oil thats right green
I like to know which oil has been around the longest. The answer to that is olive oil and coconut oil.
Yeah lol
Please test Cermax oil.
Nice work Nate.
I really appreciate you
Remember folks your engine isn't the only thing that needs oil, nobody ever checks that differential or trans.💯👌
Find a friend or family member that's having transmission issues and test seafoam Hydra trans tune... please
I will have it in the works thanks
When i upgraded to Royal purple on my 2016 Scion iA, the engine became so smooth and the rpm was not so high for 60mpg speed on the highway. This is a personal experience.
Kali 9393 -I pretty much did the same thing a few months ago......and you are right: my car is a 2017 Hyundai elantra and , I've gotta tell ya , within a few days I started noticing a smoother idle , better acceleration, and about 1.5 MPG better than before . So , what they are saying about Royal Purple is true. My next car TO get the Royal Purple will be my 1998 Ford ZX2....with 112,000.0 miles on it.
@@shwt121 But what were you using before switching ro R. Purple?
I think running some of the test at 210 degrees Fahrenheit would be a good indicator of how good an oil is. Motor oil spins most of its time at temperature, not at 20 below zero. I think some Dyno testing at high RPMs for 1 hour and then draining the oil and getting it tested might give some indication. The wear test that you use is not a realistic indication of the inside of an engine at all.
Need to test Amsoil with that it is better than royal purple but I haven't seen anything with it against mobile 1
Yes i have tested amsoil
Royal Purple's API SN stuff is average at Best. I'd only get it on sale. Synerlec RP is another story though.
What is the best?
From so much research it may have to be Amsoil. Low NOACK rates, very good cold flow, high film strength, good life. The only oils that can beat it just in film strength alone are probably oils rated API SL because they have more ZDDP.
I appreciate you sharing your information
Can you please test with lubegard biotech added 👍
Soon thanks
At 7:13 in the video, you shot some Supertech into the Royal Purple. Probably not enough to change the results, but it flawed the test.
Yes i had to measure again
What next?
Well that's a lot of glare on your scale at 12:10. Adjust the light angle so we can see the numbers better maybe in the future.
Can you try Schaeffer's full synthetic oil and Quakerstate full synthetic oil? Thanks.
I to would like to see
Yes absolutely
Test ideas to improve?
Ok
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO You might add to your test a cold flow test of -40 or colder if you have that capability.
Mobil one 👍
Amsoil vs everything....pls
Amsoil enters tournament very soon
NATES INTERACTIVE AUTO ill sub w the bell and wait.
Also if a oil is API sn plus you don't have to know the other rati gs because the sn plus states that it's the highest rating u can have so just a piece of advice
Yes that will help people that aren't aware thanks
Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer
Thanks
St syn is the way to go...really good oil for cheap bastards like me. I use m1 once in awhile if it is on sale
What difference between regular mobile 1 and hight mileage mobile
When is someone going to do Tests on the various High Mileage oils??
Just buy whatever synthetic is on sale. You guys are thinking too much into this
Some oils are of much higher quality
Also how about a test with 0w 20 oil and a test with high-mileage oils? Why Always 5w 30
Supertech fairs well though mobil goes to elite 8
True
Royal Purple has great additives
Supertech performed better than I thought it would
Nice job
Would love to see comparisons on amsoil vs Convoy
Yes amsoil is high quality
And i habe entered amsoil in the tournament
What about Convoy? Are you going to enter that in the tournament?
I would like to
NATES INTERACTIVE AUTO okay great! Let me know if you need a supplier.
Before i watch the video results... Super tech combined with cheap walmart mopar filters did the job for me on one of the worst engines ever made (chrysler 2.7) for 270,000 miles of brutal daily driving.
Castrol & Castrol edge
Yes
What do I think about super tech ? I use synthetic
Good oil good price and you?
Not bad at all
Good thanks for watching
great test
PLEASE TEST 2 STROKE OILS!!!!
Simply take care of your car with a proper maintenance schedule, and put whatever you want in it. There is no trick to making your car last, it's simply logic and effort. Any differences are negligible and in the real world are inconsequential. You are welcome to buy the highest price oil in the world, if you change your oil every 5k it won't make a difference except in your wallet. I don't know how many more videos have to be made before people realize this fact.
Mobil 1 wins..... best oil against wear protection your bearings.
Many feel this way
Testing liqui moly vs castrol today
Mobil 1 would rattle on cold start rp never did
Well royal purple is high quality
Conventional vs synthetic
Ok
this looks like the basic Royal Purple you can buy at Walmart! which is their entry level oil not be high performance Street version
Correct
ok we need new test the supertech didnt have the advanced fromula yet, n the mobile 1 u used was the advanced formula
So fir the best results I guess mobile 1 from these three? Test mobile 1 and pennzoil
Yes pennzoil was recently tested
Pennzoil vs Castrol video check it out
@ 7:13 the Royal purple was contaminated with Supertech, if it wasn't pointed out already... splitting hairs I suppose, but it was.. :P
True but its was taken care of. i show people my mistakes because thats what separates tv and RUclips but i should have shown the fix
Yes amsoil
I agree
The music wrecked the video
The rain and generator made this hard
1 ac Delco pump others are 340 walbrol
Had a Honda Accord with 150k miles had to rebuild the engine used mobile 1. I now have a Hyundai with 170k miles using supertech still going strong.
So M1 fried your engine ?
7:11 oops! That sample's contaminated.
Do BG Products from Wichita ks
Check out my video where I used bg
You should explain the data more and display them longer, dont want to pause it to figure out which numbers means what. For example you should tell the starting weight and measurement. This video reminds me of project farm videos. There is one thing that he (ProjectFarm) doesnt do with thess friction tests that you could do in the future to stand out. Build some kind of heater and use warm motor oil during the friction test to see if it makes any difference between room temperature and hot (100c) oil.
Honestly i felt the same i had waited so long and many requests but the machine was delayed for months and i fell behind but i will work hard to improve thank you
The music. Couldn’t even watch, turn up and turn down around the music. Ugh
Whatever oil i like is the best. Whatever oil u like is the best. Whatever oil he/she likes is the best. Whatever oil we/you/they like is the best.
You/i/he/she/we/you/they are right 💪💪💪
Please check diesel oils next
Absolutely we will check all oils
To My Newbie Eye... Final Results were so close as Not to produce a clear Winner. ?
I use Mobile One Extended Performance and Matching Filter on my 2005 Scion Xa. 185k.
Thought I'd switch it up on next change to Royal Purple. Just Bought the Oil and Filter. But... I'll add that to experience.
I'm not convinced at any of this... and change my oil and filter every 4,000. I'm not gonna go 7,000, or 10,000 on
oil changes... despite "claims". My best gauge... is "the color of the oil"... in case of honey-colored oils like Mobile One.
I like to switch fuels from Exxon to Shell once in a while.
I monitor all this with frequent mileage checks... with clean air filters, rotated and balanced tires (to proper pressure) ... and alignments.
It all seems kind of "nominal" for a basic car owner.
I get 35.1 -35.4 mpg (60-40 hyw to city) .... every time. 2005 Scion Manual rated 32/37 Originally. That is how I measure performance.
