Highway speeds are even more enjoyable with a 47RH and that sweet, sweet lockup. Good job on the TV cable adjustment. As I get my 47RH back into my build, I'll pay good attention to the TV cable adjustment as well.
@@davidcole3927 I've actually got an aftermarket Lokar TV cable hooked up to the original TV lever so it operates just like it was on a 2nd gen truck. It was on my donor truck before the tear-down, and worked beautifully once I replaced the TV cable (original was locked up due to corrosion). But yes, if I were doing a new conversion I'd definitely use the original linkages and TV lever if they were available. That's good advice.
Hell yeah, works great thanks, what I also did is I moved my top throttle cable, the one that’s like a ball joint to the next hole up on the mount, and moved my springs down to the bottom hole of the mount, and that also help with throttle responsiveness, cool easy free mod I learned from Decent Garage. Don’t think anyone ever adjusted the tv cable on my d250 till I did.
So I started having problems with overdrive hanging up . I started at your other video .lol . Added fluid I was about a quart low and didn’t change much. Still hangs up trying to shift to od. Especially under load.
I checked the TV cab position and found that the spring was too weak to return it to the rear position. I changed the spring and it seems to be working shifting into od without the hang up . I’m going to double check the tps tomorrow just to be safe .
If you set it up to where it shifts to early you won’t have enough line pressure to how can I say it to engage your clutch with your second gear ban and a high gear clutch pack and you can burn the transmission up because it all allow it to slip but you did good man I learn something from your video I had a problem with my old Dodge we put a different cylinder head of Hamilton cams head and head to modify the linkage bracket and all that I had to screw around get it to where I can shift early because it wouldn’t hardly shift at all anyway good job dude I like what you’re doing this is six in a row jim in Kennerdell Pennsylvania
I did this adjustment i do have an LE model 1991 D350 with cruise control. Shifts much better now. I also added an inch block under the gas petal, is a common fix for more throttle control. The issue im having is i get to about 70 MPH or about 112 KPH. and i can not press my petal any past that if i hold it fully depressed it will slowly climb in speed. Is this factory settting for these trucks? Also im hitting about 2200 rpm max. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Great videos btw love the camper vids!
Hey Tyler great video I've watched it a couple times now lol. I removed my cruise control one because I don't care much for cruise control at all and took the actuator out too on the inner fender. Anyways I've been trying to figure out where to put the spring because the previous owner moved the throttle linkage over to the inner slot on the throttle bracket so they just put both the springs on the bracket whereas there's no spring for the tv cable. Is yours the factory throttle bracket that rests against the idle screw? I think mine was changed in the past, but maybe I'll just crossover the spring to the outer slot on the bracket.
What I show in the video is factory the way my truck came. It didn't come with cruise control. If you take a look at some of the engine related videos on my red truck you might be able to see how it's setup on that one. That truck came with cruise control. You can always check the factory service manual too! Good luck.
Having issues with getting the stop to keep gap where it needs to be .18" once i have adjusted it. Once I set the lock and actuate the linkage it goes right back to the original position which is about 1 1/4". The trans is not shifting from 3rd to 4th. I had the trans rebuilt 2.5 yrs. ago and it sat for two of those years. Don't think I have more than a 4k on the new trans. Help...?
I did the same bcause it was not shifting correctly what i thought it was, but it actually did not solve my shifting into the 4th gear so it stay high rpm in 3rd but does not shift into 4th because it revs high and i can not go faster than 62-66 mph and it only revs high. .. will band adjust fix this??? Any info guys ? Yes automatic 1992 d250 2wd
@santanaman6783 4th is overdrive on the a518 transmissions. If your overdrive isn't working it's typically related to the TPS on the top of your injection pump. You should check the voltage of it. Sometimes they are off normal and you can set it back right.
@@brycemanuel4205 It must be common. When I was adjusting mine the end of the return spring actually broke and fell off and I had to re bend it and put it back on.
@@OvensGaragei think thats exactly what happened to mine but it completely fell of i had to go buy another once i checked the gap it was just as yours was, i adjusted it per your video and it shifts very well smooth now but my only problem is i cannot shift ibto 4th gear after that happened so do you think it is my band in tranny?!? Also after this happened my tach miles stopped working too so im really scratching my head now
Your wobbly tire noise hurts my ears. It’s like fingernails on a chalkboard 😂 all in all love the trucks love the videos keep ‘em coming. Hopefully this year 1 of the 3 trucks I wanna buy comes home with me. Been bugging these same 3 people for at lease 3 year now.
Haha, yeah they are noisy tires. They are re-treads so every time it hits the seam they make a loud thump..! They grip great though. Good luck with the trucks!
Glad this one worked for you.Rather amazing how much a small adjustment makes.
I know I was really impressed how a small adjustment made such a difference!

If you're doing a 47rh conversion on a first gen, make sure you use the correct 46rh tv lever.

Thanks Tyler, putting my truck back together after a full restoration. It needs this adjustment bad! Cheers bud!

@@adrianmiles6271 did you adjust the TV cable like this video shows?
@@adrianmiles6271 you'll probably have to adjust your TPS. Tim has a good video on how to do that.

Good thing you were able to get it fixed. How well does that fiberglass sun visor reduce sun glare?
I think it's more for looks to be honest haha. Depends on the angle of the sun.
This is awesome thank you for this video ima try to apply

Thanks for the great video!!

Thank you for the descriptive video. Do you know if O'Reilly or Advance have this part? If so what is the part number?

3 to 4 is overdrive. My guess is either you have a pcm problem or your throttle position sensor needs adjusted or replaced.
