I like the tailor trend. I bought a wool suit on vinted and gave it to my tailor, cuz it was too big for me and now it fits my size and I love it. I like to emphazise my waist. Chunky boots were never in my style as well as mini bags. I am a short person and I think I will not look good in them. I would love to have at least one pair or pearls earring it think they can really make your look !! I am so glad to have a few dress shirts in a dot pattern. What advise would you give me about making me look taller? What about leathers leggins do you think they be will be style too in 2024?
Loved your video, I pretty much don't have to buy a thing I have stayed the same size so I always keep the best of my wardrobe if it's not currently in fashion. Clean the items, polish the leather and store away. I already own what's coming in, so I'll refresh and move to the front. I sometimes buy items that haven't "hit" yet and some styles I skip because they don't flatter me. Frankly I don't go out unless I'm dressed nicely. A fashion hint because too much is in landfills that people toss. Buy online used or thrift stores. Everything comes back in eventually. A classic RL blazer with wider leg jeans will be stunning. Add the pearls and a silver shoe and you will have people staring at you. I have silver MK sneakers, and I'll rock the without spending a cent.
Hello Marie Anne. Please make suggestions for a short 5’2” woman 6o years of age. Not all your great suggestions are suitable for short women. Thank you. I enjoy your videos. 😊
The trend that I am really tired of is being so enamored of following trends that you fill up landfills with cheaply made garments that you only wear for one season... Can I make a plug for avoiding planned obsolescence in fashion and in general?
At church on Sunday a young woman said that I always looked so put together and asked if I had a stylist. So I told her about you and your channel. That made me really feel good, so thank you for your help!
I was asked one day what I did for a living. She then told me I looked like a stylist. I laughed. When I got home I looked in a full length mirror and laughed again. 😂 Actually, my boss said I’m the best dressed person he knows. My sister said, “What he doesn’t know is that you spend less on your clothes than anyone he knows.”
I didn't know large jewelry was even in style and now it's out? The trends come and go so quickly now that I've stopped paying attention. I wear styles and colors that flatter my own body. Nothing terribly outlandish.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur As I'm petite, I find large jewelry overwhelms me, so I avoid it. I'm thrilled, however, to see pearls become prominent. I appreciate not only your tips but your humor. I've decided to "de-frump" myself, so merci beaucoup for the inspiration. À bientôt!
I love my big jewelry. I have vintage Scandinavian Sterling and vintage Navaho jewelry from the 20s through the 40s as well as other larger pieces that I bought when I worked in a gallery. I wear it whether it's in style or out. Don't care; I started collecting it when I was 12 and am 62 now. It's part of me. That said I don't wear it all at once. Just me; it's what I like.

I love your videos, for your enthusiasm as well as your knowledge. The pink flamingos yelling "Yea!" to pink was really funny. The new silver emphasis is great!
I wore my pearl necklace the other evening, it really lifted the dark green dress I was wearing and I wondered why I’d never worn them together before! Glad pearls are going to be popular, great amusing video 👍🏻
Hi ladies Please like Marie-Anne's fabulous videos. She takes the time and effort to put out professional informative videos the least you can do is like her videos. Thanks. Have a great week.
I agree with you! I am giving up “sale” items that I buy because it is a good deal and then I end up not wearing. It is not a good value if I don’t wear it. I have several items in my closet with the tags still attached. I am purging and donating those. ❤
I wear middle sized pearl earhangers since decades now. They just fit to any look and I still love them. No other jewelry except a classic wrist watch. These are already my signature pieces. So I am now considering selling all my other jewelry pieces, because I never wear them. It is also part of just simplifying my life. It is enough to do for me keeping my wardrobe on point and actual. Thanks for your great and inspiring videos, Marie Anne!
Great video! I’m very glad to hear the tailored look will be back in 2024. I never stopped wearing tailored clothes (that look is better for my body type), but it’s been harder to shop for clothes since the oversized style has been trending.
Completely agree. Being petite, I couldn't carry off the oversize style but then normal clothes are already oversized. I prefer clothes that fit well and good quality with colours that suit my life style. I love Marie Ann because the advice are what I aspire to have.
I always love to see a video from you. I am 73 and have seen many so-called fashion trends come and thankfully go. Some of the pretty clothes you show are very close cousins of stylish fashion in the '60's and early 70's when I was young. I suppose those are the classics and just never really go out of style. I appreciate your great style; you look so good in your recommended clothing ideas. 🥰 Watching from Chesapeake, Virginia, USA
Yes! Consignment shops are awesome!!! When I was teaching in a private school, where all the parents were the wealthy blue bloods and the faculty poor, I used to shop where they consigned their classy clothes. It was an education in style. Oh by the way.... ignore that grammar troll. Must have anger issues.
The nice thing about tip #4 is that you can keep the tiny purses and later put them in your average sized purse. #5 Bermuda length tends to look matronly, you decide. I think ladies will continue with mid length shorts.
Yes...I agree... actually, my 30 year old daughter just purchased a pair of bermuda length shorts...she said to me that she has aged out of short shorts and its time to dress appropriately !... also, it is about comfort as well...
I say yes to pearls (always!) and tailored clothes. I say no to bermudas😖 I'm not sure about silver shoes but I keep open minded😂 And most of all...I ❤your editing.
I too love pearls and tailored clothes, but would say yes to Bermudan. I am slightly above average height (5'9"), and 'plus' size, so the shorter shorts really did not suit me. I think the length of shorts you wear depends a lot on which length you feel happiest in.
I love pearls and never stopped wearing them. The same with silver shoes. I bought several pairs around 8 years ago when they were last big and they are still looking great. Silver is a great neutral and gives off very cool vibes in summer.
I find 5 inch shorts to be the perfect length. 6 in would work if you're tall. A nice curve of thigh muscle is all that is needed. If you don't have muscle curve, you might have more to preoccupie yourself with than shorts.
I’m 5”…. As a rule, I prefer tailored clothing. Oversized clothing just weighs me down. This is why I will not be wearing Bermudas. I do like a walking shirt that is a few inches above the knee. Many thanks for all your fashion advice, Marie-Anne. I’m trying to make “elevate” my new mantra❣
Everything here (North America) seems to be oversized. I'm glad to see you're still into tailoring. Not all of us can wear all trends, especially petite women.
With you on the Bermudas. In my opinion no one looks attractive in them, even stunning models. Happy about silver shoes and waist lines. Love your buy less, buy better philosophy. Timeless classics have that name for a reason, same with “trends”. My dream closet would be full of Coco Channel with a bit of Kate Spade for an occasional whimsical accent . And btw, Kate loved polka dots.
Same. Bermudas have the length that works best for me especially now that I’m over fifty. lol. I have the most trouble finding shorts that aren’t gym shorts sloppy or short shorts.
I love bermudas, but my calves are one of my best features, it is hot in summer and I am always hot, being in my 50s now. So glad to have discovered your channel and love learning the French words for things.
Yes! Pearls always! And a decent purse. I am excited to try silver shoes, I have none. Personally happy to see real pants and belts again. Thank you, Marie Anne for all the good news and lovely fashion. You do not look over 60.
I am 69 yrs young, 5’2 & fine that tailored Bermuda shorts are great for me in summer. No chunky anything, no mini bags, medium bag is my choice. Sorry no silver shoes for me. Love the video ❤
Love your videos! Concise and to the point. I can’t stand channels that beg people to watch to the end, like and subscribe! But you non Cherie are a superb channel!
I'll be glad to see these changes in 2024, except maybe bermudas and polka dots. An especially big yay! to pearls and belts from me since I'm a big fan 😌 Love your presentation and editing, Marie-Anne ❤
Don't think I will be going for the Bermudas. Never thought they were flattering. Haven't seen your videos before but loved this one. Will be back for more! Also, the flamingos? Genius. Made me giggle out loud 😂
The fact that it would be called a trend means it should be ditched sooner rather than later. Play with a trend but never live by them. It dates you, it ages you, and makes you seem as if the clothes and accessories are wearing you, not the other way around. Stay with the classics as long as the ones you have/wear accentuate your shape and do not take away from it. The French are quite aware of this and that is why most French women do seem chic, they are not buying the latest thing. They stay with what looks good on them (even seasons and years old-if not decades) old. Great work @MarieAnneLeCoeur you are helping a lot of women learn how to look and feel good wearing their clothes and not the other way around.
I think you mean "fad" not "trend." Fads come and go quickly while trends are slower to come and go. Sometimes things can trend in classic styles, like lapel widths in jackets.
I hate with a passion the "fashion shorts," bermuda or otherwise. 😅 I like bermudas for boating or gardening in the summer. Great video Marie-Anne, as always!
The classic pearls. Always a favourite. I'm not sure about the silver footwear, and i dont think I will be embracing Bermuda style trousers or shorts. Thank you for the 2024 tip list. Can't wait for the how to style videos. Hugs from Leicester England xx
I like most of the new 2024 trends shown here. I also appreciate that this list was presented in a classy but unpretentious way. But I'm not a trendy person. I'm just going to keep enjoying wearing what I want and not caring what anyone else wears or thinks.
Hi Marie-Anne! Great video! I like to see these 'what's out and what's in' for a new year! I happy to see the leisurewear going out. It looks so sloppy. Have a wonderful week! xx
Merci pour tout cela, comme toujours, Marie-Anne! You really help us stay on top of the latest trends and look our very best.... I have always preferred classic, tailored clothing, and I can't live without my pearls!! I'm so glad to hear that most of what I have will continue to be "au courant"! My favorite color combo would be black and pale blue! :-)
Wow. Interesting - I realized I’ve never worn or liked those 10 things/styles you mentioned. Found them quite trendy (for a while) but the time living in France has taught me that I should always aim for the classic look.
Marie-Anne , I love your videos , your humor and fashion tips are always appreciated !! Very happy to hear of the new trends going forward , seems more classic & I love pearls !! Thank you
Thank you for the new video, dear Marie-Anne. It's always such a pleasure to see you smiling face and to hear your optimistic voice. I'm absolutely happy about polka dot coming back, it's my most preferable print ever.
Loving the flamingos! 😊 Not so sure about those shorts. You could wear tights underneath and they may feel like a skirt if they wider. You would definitely have to find the right pair. Pretty sure I’m not taking the time to look for them. I’ll stay with a skirt or pants. I’m loving the silver shoes, waistlines and belts. Thank you Marie-Anne!
Pink is one of my least favorite colors, so I am happy to see the back of it and welcome in the good reds, and omg yes pearls! By the way, I have been auditing, decluttering and updating my closet, and listening to your channel's backlog for education and inspiration for a few days now, and I am incredibly grateful to all the free knowledge and great, simple style advice you share!
I dont know if its because im getting older but i go for tailored comfort and good fabrics more and more. Also, i believe a trend is if you try to fit in. Be your own trend 😊 wear what you feel comfortable in but make sure you make an effort. If you make an effort to feel comfortable, but put together, its not that easy but so much more satisfying once you've achieved it!
Great video, dear Marie-Anne. So glad to see that gymwear, chunky training shoes and oversized boxy garments are finally out. I'm loving the silver footwear as I already have a pair of silver superga sneakers and a pair of silver boots before I knew it was going to be trendy. Tailored garments, classic belts and pearls are a big favourite of mine. I've never liked bold stripes, there's nothing better than the timeless Marinière or a striped shirt year after year. You're looking fabulous and cosy in your RL sweater. Love your humour and uplifting energy. Merci beaucoup 🙏🏻💕
This video made me laugh with the flamingos. I’m going to start wearing more of my pearl necklaces and may reconsider wearing a belt that I thought the buckle was too big. I’m not a fan of shiny anything so silver shoes, etc. will not be in my closet. I live in a casual city where I see a lot of loose clothing but I’ve never been a fan. I love being casual comfortable chic. As always thanks for your great advice!
I think you should wear what you like, if it is in or not, wear whatever makes you feel good. I love to see more silver shoes. Thanks for your lovely video.
I live in a very outdoorsy, recreational oriented city where the wealthiest people in a high-end restaurant oft wear mudsoaked jeans (expensive jeans), etc.But recently, I've seen that people are starting to wear blazers, and other fitted items. I think 2020 did a number on us. I'm not a fussy person, but have upped my style tenfold. One day I decided to dress up a bit more for a lunch with my close tattooed biker-biker chick friend who generally wears sloppy street wear (not an insult, I usually wear sloppy clothes too). She was wearing a blazer with wool slacks! She looked amazing. I don't know what it is. People are starting to dress up more and I love it!'
Well, 2020 was right at the height of the COVID-19 lockdown. Many of us were working from home, or not going anywhere. I know for a fact that I ordered more tunic length, fisherman knit turtlenecks as well as a luscious full length robe. I think the Pandemic had a huge effect on fashion .
I’m pleased to see the loose boxy styles out. I’m quite small and they are the most unflattering look for me. Stripes? I don’t mind polka dots, but I will never discard my beloved Breton tops. I love the colours burgundy, purple and green so it’s a big ✅ in the box for me. Take care xx
She was talking about very bold stripes, which I actually wear horizontally or on an angle, but only because I'm tall and slim. I do the opposite of what most stylists say to do in generalities, because I like to break up my look.
I agree with most of these being out and that's fine. As for replacements, I don't think Bermuda shorts are going to make it - I'd rather have a cropped wide leg pant. I've also never been able to make polka dots work, they're just a little too unsophisticated/childish and even the large scale won't help that.
Bonjour Martha - i have lots planned for my French Chic Ladies in 2024 😃 starting with a video on Christmas Eve to kick off the Chic-mas season 🎄 and a Merry Christmas to you and yours 😘
I'm very excited for the new slim fit sneakers making a comeback. And the pearls, I love them. I'm a bit scared of the silver boots, but will give it a try. Am I glad for the polkadots😂😂😂😂 always been my favorite.
I appreciate knowing what trends are new in 2024 because it helps me buy 2-3 trendy (and fairly inexpensive) pieces. These help freshen up my classic pieces that never go out of style. Thank you, Marie-Anne!

I think you mean "fad" not "trend." Fads come and go quickly while trends are slower to come and go. Sometimes things can trend in classic styles, like lapel widths in jackets.
Enjoyed your shows, may I say you look beautiful . Thank you for the advice.
Merci 🤗
Like your energy, enthusiasm and the video editing!
Best to you, Marie-Anne, your family and this stylish community
Merci Julie - I will let my editor know 🤗 and a Merry Christmas to you and yours as well 🎄
Yes to pearls👏👏
💯👍
No to pearls
Love it. I love pearls
I hate with a passion the "fashion shorts," bermuda or otherwise. 😅 I like bermudas for boating or gardening in the summer. Great video Marie-Anne, as always!
🤗
I love that you are teaching us French, too! You’re such an elegant and classy lady 🌷
Ohh 8:01 I love that vintage photo, yes girl love you working on the shoulders. That looks like a 50s wide belt Rockabilly. ❤❤ I love that.
The classic pearls. Always a favourite.
I'm not sure about the silver footwear, and i dont think I will be embracing Bermuda style trousers or shorts.
Thank you for the 2024 tip list. Can't wait for the how to style videos.
Hugs from Leicester England xx
You are very welcome Karen - I have already posted some of the trends to wear videos and more coming soon - make sure you catch them 😃
Thanks for letting us know what will be out of style in 2025!
As always sound advice and suggestions . Merci
Love the small print polka dots . Looks beautiful on almost anybody .
🤗
Love Pearls!!
You are fantastic ❤
Thank you so much 🤗
I like most of the new 2024 trends shown here. I also appreciate that this list was presented in a classy but unpretentious way. But I'm not a trendy person. I'm just going to keep enjoying wearing what I want and not caring what anyone else wears or thinks.
Thanks for the French lesson along side the fashion tips. Merci beaucoup❤
It's my pleasure 😃
Although my waistline is exactly where I want it to be, I am glad to see that we have rediscovered our waistlines!
Hi Marie-Anne! Great video! I like to see these 'what's out and what's in' for a new year! I happy to see the leisurewear going out. It looks so sloppy. Have a wonderful week! xx
You too Celia xx
Ooo lovely, I love pears, polka dots, red colours in general. I think red and grey is a winner for me. Grey trousers with silver slingbacks. ❤
Classic colour combo Bibi 😃
Merci pour tout cela, comme toujours, Marie-Anne! You really help us stay on top of the latest trends and look our very best.... I have always preferred classic, tailored clothing, and I can't live without my pearls!! I'm so glad to hear that most of what I have will continue to be "au courant"! My favorite color combo would be black and pale blue! :-)
You are very welcome Karen 😘
Wow. Interesting - I realized I’ve never worn or liked those 10 things/styles you mentioned. Found them quite trendy (for a while) but the time living in France has taught me that I should always aim for the classic look.
Classic is best Meoconoi 😃
Marie-Anne , I love your videos , your humor and fashion tips are always appreciated !!
Very happy to hear of the new trends going forward , seems more classic & I love pearls !!
Thank you
Classic does seem to be creeping back Dina 🙌
Thank you for the new video, dear Marie-Anne. It's always such a pleasure to see you smiling face and to hear your optimistic voice. I'm absolutely happy about polka dot coming back, it's my most preferable print ever.
🤗
I love pearls and I’ve never stopped wearing them.
I really loved this video short, sweet, and entertaining too!
Glad you enjoyed it 😃
Loving the flamingos!
The flamingoes are quite popular 😃 I may have to bring them back 😂
Love your use of French. I’m learning ew expressions.
I am glad you enjoy it Terri 😃
Love your energy!
🤗
Pink is one of my least favorite colors, so I am happy to see the back of it and welcome in the good reds, and omg yes pearls! By the way, I have been auditing, decluttering and updating my closet, and listening to your channel's backlog for education and inspiration for a few days now, and I am incredibly grateful to all the free knowledge and great, simple style advice you share!
You are very welcome Veronika 😘
I love pearls. They are so classic and go with everything. Bermudas are a no for me as I have short legs.
Thanks so much for bringing French words into the video! I love that language!!
Glad you like it Book Lover x
I dont know if its because im getting older but i go for tailored comfort and good fabrics more and more. Also, i believe a trend is if you try to fit in. Be your own trend 😊 wear what you feel comfortable in but make sure you make an effort. If you make an effort to feel comfortable, but put together, its not that easy but so much more satisfying once you've achieved it!
Bonjour jedrzejowskia tailored comfort is excellent and yes Stand Out In Your Style is my motto 😃 much more satisfying than being a slave to trends 👍
You are very welcome AW 🤗
Fun video Marie Anne. Thank you 😊😊😊
🤗
Merci, Marie-Anne, for this video. Definitely NON to Bermuda shorts!
😃👍
I love you your videos and your advice. Do you always bring forth a classic style which is important for us older ladies. Keep up the good work.
Classic is best Trish - mixed with a little modern of course 😉
This video made me laugh with the flamingos. I’m going to start wearing more of my pearl necklaces and may reconsider wearing a belt that I thought the buckle was too big. I’m not a fan of shiny anything so silver shoes, etc. will not be in my closet. I live in a casual city where I see a lot of loose clothing but I’ve never been a fan. I love being casual comfortable chic. As always thanks for your great advice!
Lovely to hear your pearls will be getting more wear Connie 😃
We mimic the influencers who are good at marketing. Very few of possess truly original style. We are a bunch of copy cats.
That is wonderful to hear Humming Bird 😃
sadly people often choose to follow the wrong examples Marian not just in style but in life too - yet it is all part and parcel of experience 😘
Enjoyable video. I’ll give it thought. I really like that you put French phrases for viewing. Even a few words of French is worthwhile for me.
I am glad you enjoyed the added French Pamela 😃
I’m pleased to see the loose boxy styles out. I’m quite small and they are the most unflattering look for me. Stripes? I don’t mind polka dots, but I will never discard my beloved Breton tops. I love the colours burgundy, purple and green so it’s a big ✅ in the box for me. Take care xx
You are a lady after my own heart Paris ❤️
She was talking about very bold stripes, which I actually wear horizontally or on an angle, but only because I'm tall and slim. I do the opposite of what most stylists say to do in generalities, because I like to break up my look.
I’m glad Pearls are in. I love them😍
🙌
I'll wear any color that flatters me.
I love when you speak French and English,I have a problem I have long torso and short neck help!!❤
I have done a video about styling a long torso Martina 😃 ruclips.net/video/WAJkYLcldxU/видео.html
I agree with most of these being out and that's fine. As for replacements, I don't think Bermuda shorts are going to make it - I'd rather have a cropped wide leg pant. I've also never been able to make polka dots work, they're just a little too unsophisticated/childish and even the large scale won't help that.
Not a fan of polka dots either. The classic geometric look makes me WANT to like them but I’ve never been able to get on board.
Merci toujours Mme LeCoeur!
😘
As always a terrific video. Love your grey sweater. Merry Christmas to you and your family and lots of new videos for 2024 !!👋👋👋
Bonjour Martha - i have lots planned for my French Chic Ladies in 2024 😃 starting with a video on Christmas Eve to kick off the Chic-mas season 🎄 and a Merry Christmas to you and yours 😘
Thanks Marie-Anne
I like this video. I bought the silver sling backhoes. I love them , they go with everything. I dislike the shorts at any length. Merry Christmas.
Yayyy for silver slingbacks 🙌🙌
I'm very excited for the new slim fit sneakers making a comeback. And the pearls, I love them. I'm a bit scared of the silver boots, but will give it a try. Am I glad for the polkadots😂😂😂😂 always been my favorite.
Excellent - don;t forget to share your chic in your silver boots 😘
I’m so happy about the pearls!
🤍
Love tailored silhouettes and I've got a pearl necklace and earrings on my Christmas list! 😊
🙌 I hope Santa is kind Rose 🎅
I appreciate knowing what trends are new in 2024 because it helps me buy 2-3 trendy (and fairly inexpensive) pieces. These help freshen up my classic pieces that never go out of style. Thank you, Marie-Anne!
👏 The very best way to do trends WW 😃
I LOVE polka dots!! Someone told me that wearing polka dots means you're happy 😊
They are a very happy print 😃
I will definitly wear polka dots.😀
This was such a helpful video. Thank you 🙏
You're very welcome Donna x
