To be fair, the first sandwich, eaten by the Earl of Sandwich, was basically a slice of meat between two slices of bread. So I guess someone did their history homework.
6/10 is the highest rating I've seen for this episode recently,some poketubers just give it like a 5 or 3 outta 10. Me personally, I'd give it a solid 7/10,these are the kind of episodes I love to watch.
The flashback or recaps make sense since,you know, it's been 2 weeks (to some people it feels like forever) so the writers probably want to keep us on our toes. I really enjoyed the amount of family vibes from the entire crew,even fuecoco sharing the sandwich was sweet. Speaking of which, the wattrel capture might happen next episode,but it could go either way. Let's just not get our hopes up.
Yeah I thought this episode was really fun, there were like 2 minutes of recaps that weighed it down, but that's it. I was really surprised when I saw others judging it harshly. I thought it was a nice episode with more good things than bad
@@EliteTrainerMark some people were even saying it was a recap episode, similar to the pointless ones during the masters tournament,and I took that personally. The good far outweighs the bad for this episode.

I can see Dot being autistic or neurodivergent or even if just heavily introverted. It's nice to see as the Pokemon anime hasn't really ever had a rep for that until like Journey's with Alister but he didn't show up much.
So it's nice to have a more main focused character for such things. Plus Liko is such a great friend to them wanting to include them in things, even if they say no.
As introvert and autistic person myself, when some one even justs asks you out of the blue to do things. The feeling of being wanted and know someone cares about you even if you have to say no is huge. So I love that showcase here with Dot and Liko.
I loved the story behind their air ship was really fun to learn about that too. Future plot build ups and just seeing how each persons sandwhich is tied to their personality is great too. :3
Liko being Simple yet refined, Roy's being over the top and rebunctious, and Fried's being simple and practical but also all over the place. Also glad the recap didn't last to long as was barely there and honestly having a moment of calm most would reflect on such things. Anyways I heavily enjoyed this episode and hope Roy catches Watrel!

Thanks! I totally agree with what you're saying about Dot and Liko. I mean, it's a low bar to be happy about things like Pokémon having complex, atypical characters on the show, but it is super rare to see the show have anything other than extremely confident and talented characters in the spotlight. I am really excited to see Dot's character development, Liko's character development, and how their relationship progresses. I feel like it's the type of friendship that wouldn't normally be in the Pokémon anime, but it's the type of friendship that a lot of people can relate to

You're literally one of the few poketubers that didn't exaggerated by calling this episode "horrible" or straight up "trash" just because of those two minutes of flashback. People tend to forget that the show is back after two weeks and that this is a new series. Of course they wanted to keep what happened fresh in the minds of everyone. Specially before starting to a potential new arc.
It wasn't the most eventful episode compared to some of the others but it wasn't a pokemon journeys recap at all either. It was a nice reference to the picnic mechanic from the games and it helped set up some events for future episodes.
I think 6 or even 7 is a decent rating.

Thank you! Yeah, I couldn't really tell if the people disliking this episode were being honest, or if they were just being sensationalist to try and get attention/views. Not every episode is going to be an absolute banger, we need these slower episodes to help move the plot and characters along. I can't even remember how many times I heard the word "rushed" used to describe a Journeys episode, so now Horizons is letting the story take time and breathe!

Even though the EP was a bit of a filler & somewhat a recapper, it felt kinda nice for a bit of character growth development. For Ex: it was interesting to learn that the Brave Asagi was originally just Ludlow's fishing boat (then Friede gave the order to attach a Zeppelin atop of it & make it an airship); and showcasing that the kids of the crew are starting to grow.
the re-cap/flashback sequence was probably put there to minimize animation as the staff just came back from summer vacation.

It was curious that wattrel doesn't know how to fly. But what got me the most in the episode... BOY, LIKO IS KILLING ME WITH HOW *OBLIVIOUS* SHE IS WITH THE MATTER OF DOT AND NIDOTHING!!! I never facepalmed so hard in my life before. I actually gave myself a headache out of it. I think Dot will have to make a face reveal stream just for Liko to get it.

I hope Gramps has a Drampa as his ace. Noone rocks the look of the Neverending story dragon without a Drampa.

Like your new character art! Also, I feel like this beginning arc was more character and story introduction. Hopefully, the next plot introduces more pokemon caught by liko and roy. Since liko is the protagonist, and therefore more targeted, needs a new pokemon more than roy.

Oof yeah I tried watching Journey but dropped it after like the Slowking episode mostly. Chole I wish she got some spotlight in Journey but no it was mostly the Ash and Goh show.

The new trainer art is really cool bruh!! I wonder what’s in the May premier ball 🤔 when can we start guessing?? Now?? I’m going to start by saying a shiny Lugia. Not sure if this follows the Pokémon Go model or not, but all legendary Pokémon/raid Pokémon in Pokémon Go are captured with premier balls; however, it is said that premier balls are basically like regular poke-balls when it comes to capture rate, but if I’m not mistaken cost 100 zen more in the game. So yeah, starting with a shiny legendary lol!!! I hope we get hints as Pokémon Horizons finished. Maybe it’ll take a year to disclose?? Hhmmmm 🤔

I’m also watching the English dub; the Netflix/English version is on 12 while the Japanese anime is 45 or 46. English is so far behind, I’m just waiting for the next release of episodes

@@s.a.n8404 that makes sense, Gunther's matches are some of my favorites, his style is so entertaining. I haven't watched much of Claudio Castagnoli's stuff since he left WWE as Cesaro, but he was one of my favorites when he was in WWE
