It was hypnotizing 😵💫
Just to mention something:
Friede noticed that it was an ambush. He just willingly fell in the trap in an attempt to find out that who was the one messing with their ship.
And Liko was just following the directions of the fake advertising she got in her rotom phone. She (barely) entered the dark alley but more out of confusion rather than stupidity. And she was going to get out of there right after noticing that there was nothing there but that was also the moment where she bumped into Spinel.
Also something that I want to mention as well is that this episode gave some good moments of interactions for Murdock with Liko and Roy. Which is cool because we haven't seen them interact with him that much.
I was also thinking that Murdock is really proving to be a fantastic supporting character, in the last few episodes he has been really great
The spices Murdock bought were actually Herba Mystica from Scarlet and Violet.
Can those even be purchased in game, or can you only obtain them through raids?
@@EliteTrainerMark They're only available through Raids, yes, but they are obtainable items nevertheless.
Interesting. I've never even touched Tera Raids other than to get Walking Wake, so I am pretty much clueless about that side of the game. I thought they were the type of things you could buy to put on sandwiches, which is another game mechanic I have never used lol
@@EliteTrainerMark You are right in that they can be used as sandwich ingredients, and I've never made them in-game either.
Looks like Roy's Wattrel (besides its smaller size to regular Wattrel) is taking after Iris's Dragonite; i.e. meaning that unlike the look of its regular species, it has the squinting glare as its usual facial expression.
One possibility is that Friede knows more about the Tera orbs than he's letting on, like perhaps he worked with Sada and Turo and he didn't like what they were planning and/or felt that using Terapagos' power was too risky as they didn't know enough about it so he left and created the Rising Volt Tacklers.
Another possibility is that Friede just knows that it's good for one use and he'll have to recharge it so he doesn't like using it outside of emergencies.
Both are likely but I personally prefer option one
I like both of these theories, I can't wait to see more backstory explained for Friede's character as well as Terastalization in general
This kind of explains why the last episode focused show much on how far Liko has grown since they used it to set up her getting hypnotized and how she’ll be dealing with amnesia next week

The fact that they emphasized Liko’s friendship with Dot last week & this week also works with setting up Dot asking for Iono’s help to find her next week
In Liko's defense, I'd risk getting mugged in a dark alley for some red Sazón too, especially if it comes in a shaker instead of foil packets...it's one of my favorite spices to cook with 😅
I went the full monty 10/10 after watching it a couple times. Imagine Friede terrastalizing his Charizard, yet it's only the 3rd most significant event in the episode. Roy catching Wattrel was so wholesome and I thought that was ending the episode on a high note, until the dark twist at the end made my jaw drop.
Fair enough lol that's a funny description. I guess I think the opposite way, like how multiple major events happened in the same episode, it kind of lessens the impact of each of them, at least to me
the Nidothing and Iono collab will be legendary
But she did give her courage about her dad tho. It was the picture that showed liko being happy with everyone

Same, it's already been shown to have a lot of different emotions and you can get a real sense of its personality after only two episodes, which is impressive
I thought that main plot point that Liko may have end up meeting a stranger that actually helps including something that is missing. I got a hunch here
Wattrel just became one of the cutest Pokemon in the anime~~ makes me wonder how it survived without knowing how to fly - but oh well, anime plot I guess. Also, I really didn't like Friede's major mistake of keeping the ambush attempt a secret and not warning the others they might be in danger. Playing tough and not caring enough for his teammates just felt out of character for me.
Some people might don't like it, but I actually love the cliffhangers of Horizons - always makes me excited and look forward for next's week episode. Overall, I think this one has been my favorite episode so far!
Idk why but I get the feeling Friede might have more of a connection to the Explorers than we all think …Iike you said it seemed like he didn’t want to use terastalisation…
Plus, we know there’s been history with Amethio & even Spinel seems to know him too 🤔
I don't remember any history with Friede and Amethio.. and Spinel only knows him because Spinel has been scouting out the Rising Volt Tacklers so he can execute his plan. I wouldn't rule out some kind of connection, but it does seem pretty Farfetch'd😅

My Discord is having some issues right now so I can't give my usual answer, but for Horizons the easiest place to go is gogoanime, that website is filled with ads and popups but you can find Pokémon (2023) on there, and that is Horizons

does anyone know any good places to watch these episodes? i like the reviews on this channel, but it makes me want to watch the official broadcasts.
Well the *official* broadcasts air on Japanese TV and then get posted to the Japanese official Pokémon youtube channel. I don't have access to either of those. However, I do have access to the internet, and that's the magical place where you can find the latest episodes with English subtitles. I can't really give out direct links on RUclips, so all I can say right now is to check out sites like gogoanime if you're fine battling a ton of ads and pop ups, or you can join my Discord server and we can give you much more specific instructions there
What were the minor things that took away your enjoyment?
I guess I didn't really elaborate on that much in the video, but partly because it's hard to explain. Sometimes I just don't get that feeling that I am really into an episode, like I'm not fully invested in it. It's hard to put into words, which is why I probably didn't even try to do so in the video haha.
If I were to try and put my finger on it, I didn't love how Friede and Liko both got tricked so easily, I thought Charizard's Tera type being Dark was a little too convenient, along with the fact that he just so happened to not bring Cap with him this time, and the episode was split into three different storylines, which dilutes the focus of each plotline.
But again, those are all minor things. When I thought about my rating, I looked at previous episodes of Horizons and thought "well, I enjoyed it more than that episode, which I gave a 7, but I don't think this was quite as good as that episode, which I gave an 8."
That's about as thoroughly as I can elaborate on it. For the sake of the video, it was easier to just say "there were some minor things that took away from my enjoyment" and move on😂
@@EliteTrainerMark Ah, I see, in my opinion, if Spinel really wanted to win, he would've used all of the extra Magnetons that he had. And I think Charizard's Tera Dark could be explained through backstory later so I think what was more convenient was Ludlow loudly loitering around the Brave Asagi in the middle of the night WITH his fishing rod for Roy to spot.
I thought it was gonna be a fake out like may and that swablu and i wonder why friedes charizards tera type is dark
