    Awesome, I like the fact wax doesn't slop all over the case and cool spoon too. Thanks

    Exquisite music, as always. Zombie loads ... you're gonna like them at the range. Nice idea with the tablespoon, a reloader scale pan works well too.

    God forbid that your wad slides out if your gun gets too hot... this is pretty slick foobie, looking forward to see what the pattern looks like or the lack of pattern that is, cheers brother man!

    You and your gadgets. Thats pretty cool though. I loaded up some Mag Tech brass shot shells with black powder, Copper Head BB's and Crayola green wax. Haven't had them to the range yet but I have noticed that as the wax solidifies it shrinks so I may have to add a ring of glue around the rims to keep them together. Can't crimp the brass. Love the spoon idea. Going to mod one for myself. Thanks Mr. Protocol. God bless.

    There are some issues, such as not measuring the weight, but if you are using them inside a house it wont matter. Good vid ... it did give me some ideas!

    at the ar15 dot com forums a guy blew up his gun doing this, it says his 50th round blew, dont know if it was wax build up to heavy a load ect. from zombiehunters org says highly recommend weighing the shot before putting it back in. preferred method is to leave the shot in, take a few pellets out, pour in the wax. the minute weight difference of the wax is offset. With wax slugs, never shoot more than about 10 rounds always clean it when I get home

    very cool! were you able to reuse the same bird shot bb's or did you have to cut out more shotgun shells to create the 25 wax slugs?

    This is very cool! I remember an uncle doig this when I was very young. Could you let us know how the barrol handles the wax maybe after the first two, twenty, and so on.....Maybe you and your buddy could make a type of heated ra rod for this situation?

  • @Roont3
    @Roont3 11 лет назад

    A turkey baster would make it fast, but that's something to get wax out of later.

    that is the awsomemest spoon in the world

  • @uxcitme
    @uxcitme 11 лет назад

    No. You have to heat the shot up to the same temperature as the wax, otherwise when the heated wax hits the cold shot, the wax will cool before it has a chance to penetrate into the shot. You will end up with a wax cap over loose shot.

    Is there any reasonable way to open the crimp on a shotgun shell?
    My thinking is that, with a shotshell reloading press, one could re-crimp the shells after the wax slug is situated. If that was done, perhaps they would be safe to load up in the magazine tube without worries of leakage should they heat up.

    Look up videos of the damage that wax slugs deal. They are far more devastating than lead slugs on soft or solid targets. There are videos on the physics of the wax slug, too.

    Thanks for another awesome vid. I hate to sound stupid, but is there any danger with hot wax and shells going off? I know you did it and survived (lol).

  • @1kings1918
    @1kings1918 11 лет назад

    Hmm. It seems like if you remove the end disk, leave the shot in place, and then poor the wax over the shot, it would accomplish the same thing with greater consistency. Cool idea though. Hopefully you wont have an ugly wax build up. :-)

    Interesting video, that is one way to do it. I would rather buy the 00 Buck or the Slugs than go thru this process. I am no lab rat and would rather be shooting than mixing and cutting.

    What does the wax do to your barrel

  • @allen841
    @allen841 11 лет назад

    Couldn't you use a large eye dropper to fill shells with the wax?

  • @FUBARPROTOCOL
    @FUBARPROTOCOL  11 лет назад

    You actually have extra shot left over because of the wax displacement.

  • @mikeb.2169
    @mikeb.2169 3 года назад

    How accurate are they when shot?

  • @Roont3
    @Roont3 11 лет назад

    I implore you to search "wax slugs ballistic gel". Or just watch videos of wax slugs destroying things. I won't go into all of the physics of it, but wax slugs are incredibly devastating to soft or solid targets.
    In a soft target, a wax slug maintains twice the energy of a cut shell and carries it all into the target. It penetrates about one inch before the wax fragments. But then those fragments break up in a couple inches, and every pellet spreads out creating it's own wound channel.

    dont keep wax shells in a hot truck in the summer heat. Unless you want shot all over the truck when the wax melts.
